Israëlisch leger ontkent moord op invalide Palestijn

Terwijl de hele (nadenkende en oplettende) wereld weet dat het Israëlische leger totaal geen moeite heeft om invaliden en kinderen kapot te schieten, of desnoods op te blazen met een granaat, ontkent Israël dat het op 15 december 2017 de invalide Palestijn Ibrahim Abu Thuraya vermoordde.......

Er werd die dag vanaf één kant geschoten en dat was vanaf de Israëlische kant van de grens tussen de Gazastrook en Israël, toch stelt het Israëlische leger plompverloren dat het Thuraya niet heeft geraakt en dat er zelfs niet op hem is gericht..... Het Israëlische leger is trouwens ook verantwoordelijk voor de handicap van Thuraya, het verlies van zijn benen.......

Israël dat na het begin van The Great Return March het ene bloedbad na het andere aanrichtte onder ongewapende Palestijnen en dat ook nog eens op het gebied dat zogenaamd van de Palestijnen is, de Gazastrook.... In werkelijkheid is de Gazastrook een openluchtgevangenis of beter gezegd getto van Israël, te vergelijken met dat van Warschau tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog..... 

De Gazastrook, een getto waar Israël de eerste levensbehoeften water en elektriciteit tot wapens heeft gemaakt en waar families of zelfs het volk collectief wordt gestraft voor de actie van enkelen (een tactiek die de nazi's veelvuldig gebruikten, zie de moord op de manlijke bevolking van Putten), dit soort acties zijn misdaden tegen de menselijkheid......

Israël heeft sinds het begin van de Great Return March meer dan 300 Palestijnen vermoord, waaronder 59 kinderen, voorts invaliden, medisch hulpverleners en journalisten, waar de laatste 2 groepen duidelijk te herkennen waren en dat tijdens het verrichten van hun werk......

Tot slot: hoe geloofwaardig is het onderzoek van het Israëlische leger, naar eigen misdaden??? De vraag stellen is haar beantwoorden >> totaal ongeloofwaardig!! Je laat een psychopathische massamoordenaar toch niet diens eigen gruwelijke terreur onderzoeken??!!!

Israeli Army Finds “No Evidence” It Killed Disabled Gaza Protester

(MEMO) — An investigation by the Israeli army has found “no evidence” that it killed disabled Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Tharayya, who was shot dead during a protest in the Gaza Strip in December 2017.

The Israeli army’s criminal investigation division on Friday closed its probe into the killing of 29-year-old Abu Tharayya, claiming he was killed in a “violent riot” in the besieged Gaza Strip. The Israeli army spokesman said the division had “questioned soldiers and commanders who had witnessed the incident and also examined video footage of the incident, but found no evidence that Abu Thuraya was killed by direct Israeli army fire,” Haaretz reported.

The army also claimed it had “tried to obtain the bullet that killed Abu Thurayeh” as part of its investigation but authorities in Gaza “denied its request”, according to the Times of Israel.

The closing of the probe will come as little surprise given the army’s repeated denial of wrongdoing in relation to Abu Tharayya’s death.

Just days after Abu Tharayya was killed on 15 December, the army announced that it bore “no responsibility”, saying in a statement that “the initial investigation indicates that no moral or professional failures were identified”. It added that “no live fire was aimed at [Abu Thurayya]” and it was “impossible to determine” exactly “what caused his death”.

Human rights organisations and Palestinian officials, however, contradicted the Israeli version of events, saying Abu Tharayya was shot by an Israeli sniper. According to medical records obtained by the Associated Press (AP) in January 2018, the 29-year-old “died of bleeding in his brain after a bullet struck his head”.

AP’s publishing of these medical records prompted the Israeli army to open an investigation into the events of 15 December, citing “the significant disparity in the findings of [the aforementioned] army inquiry into the incident and those of Palestinian groups inside the Gaza Strip”.

The AP’s account was consistent with that of Palestinian human rights organisation Al-Haq, which wrote shortly after Abu Thurayya’s killing that “he was shot in the forehead in what appears to have been a deliberate act”. Al-Haq continued:

Under international humanitarian and human rights law, [Abu Thurayya] was entitled to special protection not only as a civilian under the control of the occupying power, but also as a person with disability who moreover lost his legs as a consequence of a prior assault by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

His killing “may not only amount to an arbitrary deprivation of life but also an act of torture or ill-treatment,” Al-Haq added.

Abu Tharayya was an icon in Gaza, regularly participating in protests despite being wheelchair bound since he lost both legs in an Israeli assault on the Strip during the 2008 war. On 15 December he had joined thousands of Gazans to protest against US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would move the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognise the Holy City as Israel’s capital.

Following Abu Tharayya’s death, disabled Jerusalemite Palestinians staged a protest near the city’s Damascus Gate to condemn both his killing and the US’ actions on Jerusalem. Demonstrators chanted slogans against Israel’s violence, but were attacked by Israeli forces during the protest.

In the months that followed, hundreds of Palestinian demonstrators were killed by Israeli live fire in what has since become known as the Great March of Return. Though originally intended to take place from Land Day on 30 March for six weeks, until Nakba Day on 15 May, the march continues to this day.

Between 30 March 2018 and 14 May 2019, 305 Palestinians, including 59 children, were killed by Israeli forces, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. A further 29,000 were injured and scores left with life-changing injuries, UN OCHA reported.

Anti-Media bracht gisteren een artikel van Middle East Monitor (MEMO) waarin conclusies overgenomen van Amnesty International (en nee, niet dat slappe door Rutte gesubsidieerde zootje in Nederland) over de mensenrechtensituatie in Israël en de Palestijnse gebieden, zoals deze rechten door de Israëlische (bezettende) overheid t.a.v. de Palestijnen keer op keer wordt geschonden........

Het feit dat Israël martelt is al lang bekend, echter minder bekend is dat Israël zelfs kinderen martelt, onlangs bracht de Palestijnse groepering Palestinian Prisoner's Club (PPC) daar nog haar bevindingen over naar buiten*.

2017 was het 50ste jaar van Israëls illegale bezetting van Palestijnse gebiedsdelen (althans als je de grote roof van land door fascistische zionisten eind jaren 40 niet meerekent....), bovendien bestond in 2017 de illegale Israëlische blokkade van de Gazastrook al 10 jaar...... Door die blokkade zitten 2 miljoen Palestijnen in een uitzichtloze situatie, waar deze mensen leven in één grote openluchtgevangenis van Israël........ Beide zaken zijn enorme oorlogsmisdaden en dat begaan tegen een in feite weerloos volk, door één van de modernste legers op onze kleine aarde......

Ook werden er in 2017 maar liefst 76 Palestijnen door het Israëlische leger en politie doodgeschoten, velen zonder dat zij ook maar enige bedreiging vormden voor Israëliërs, overigens bevonden zich onder de slachtoffers een aantal kinderen....... Ook vermoorde Israël bij demonstraties 20 mensen met kogels die met rubber ommanteld waren......

In datzelfde jaar 2017 werden een groot aantal illegale nederzettingen verder uitgebreid en werden er aan Palestijnse kant een groot aantal huizen en gebouwen vernield door Israël, waarbij 660 mensen op straat kwamen te staan........ (let wel: onderdak is een mensenrecht zoals vastgelegd in de universele verklaring van de rechten van de mens!!)

Volgens Amnesty zijn er een aantal mensen zonder meer standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd, zoals de van een rolstoel afhankelijke Ibrahim Abu Thuraya (in het artikel hieronder aangeduid als Thurayya), hij werd vermoord omdat hij met een aantal demonstranten bij een versperring tussen de Gazastrip en Israël op de grond zat....... Ja, zoals je begrijpt, die Israëlische soldaten zijn 'echte helden......'

 

Zoals al vaker op deze plek verzucht: wanneer gaat de wereld zich druk maken om terreurstaat Israël, i.p.v. zich druk te maken om de oorlogspropaganda van de VS en het westen, zoals die over Syrië, waar nu Oost-Ghouta weer in het 'fake news spotlicht' staat???

Als de Syrische overheid dezelfde misdaden zou begaan, die de Israëlische overheid begaat, zou de wereld op z'n kop staan........

Israel Carried Out Extrajudicial Executions, Tortured Children: Report

(MEMO) — Israeli authorities and armed forces carried out extrajudicial executions, tortured Palestinian prisoners and targeted human rights defenders, Amnesty International’s new annual report says.

2017 “marked the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation of the [occupied] Palestinian Territories” (OPT), Amnesty noted, “and the 10th anniversary of its illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip.”

“Israeli authorities intensified the expansion of settlements and related infrastructure across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and carried out a large number of demolitions of Palestinian property, forcibly evicting more than 660 people,” the report states.

“Many of these demolitions were in Bedouin and herding communities that the Israeli authorities planned to forcibly transfer.”

Meanwhile, Amnesty also slammed “Israel’s air, land and sea blockade of the Gaza Strip,” which it says is “collectively punishing Gaza’s entire population of approximately 2 million inhabitants.”

Addressing the use of lethal violence, Amnesty International noted that Israeli forces killed 76 Palestinians and one foreign national in 2017, adding that “many, including children, were shot and unlawfully killed while posing no immediate threat to life.”

Some killings, Amnesty continued, “appeared to have been extrajudicial executions.”

Across the occupied territories, “Israeli forces, including undercover units, used excessive and sometimes lethal force when they used rubber-coated metal bullets and live ammunition against Palestinian protesters,” killing “at least 20, and injuring thousands.”

Amnesty’s annual report notes the killing in December of “wheelchair user Ibrahim Abu Thurayya,” who “was shot in the head by an Israeli soldier as he was sitting with a group of protesters near the fence separating Gaza from Israel.”

The new report also commented on Israel’s use of mass incarceration as a tool of political repression, documenting how “Israel detained or continued to imprison thousands of Palestinians from the OPT, mostly in prisons in Israel, in violation of international law.”

Israeli authorities also “continued to substitute administrative detention for criminal prosecution,” says Amnesty, “holding hundreds of Palestinians, including children, civil society leaders and NGO workers, without charge or trial under renewable orders, based on information withheld from detainees and their lawyers.”

Furthermore, “Israeli soldiers and police and Israel Security Agency [Shin Bet] officers subjected Palestinian detainees, including children, to torture and other ill-treatment with impunity, particularly during arrest and interrogation.”

Amnesty International also accused Israeli authorities of using “a range of measures, both in Israel and the OPT, to target human rights defenders who criticised Israel’s continuing occupation.”

Other topics covered by the report, in relation to Israel’s ongoing rights violations, included the lack of accountability, “more than three years” later, for “evidently unlawful attacks including war crimes” committed by the Israeli military in its 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip.

February 23, 2018 "Information Clearing House"  A Palestinian man died after he was beaten by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank city of Jericho early Thursday.

Yasin al-Saradih, 33, was arrested from his house at approximately 2 am, Eid Barahmeh, head of the Palestinian prisoners club in Jericho, told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Israeli forces notified the family of al-Saradih’s death two hours later.

The Israeli military changed its story about the events surrounding al-Saradih’s death after a video emerged showing soldiers striking him.

The video shows a number of soldiers gathered around al-Saradih, some apparently beating him while he is on the ground. They then drag his body away. The video does not show al-Saradih posing any threat to them.

Al-Saradih’s brother-in-law, Ismail al-Masri, told local media that Israeli soldiers beat al-Saradih “in every part of his body, especially his stomach and back.”

Prisoners rights group Addameer and the Palestinian Prisoners Club are calling al-Saradih’s death an extrajudicial killing.

“Israeli occupation forces routinely use excessive force in an unnecessary and disproportionate manner, which is in violation of international law,” the groups said.

Issa Qaraqe, head of the Palestinian Authority’s prisoners affairs committee, told local radio on Thursday that the cause of al-Saradih’s death was a severe beating to the head.

Al-Saradih’s family told Haaretz that he did not suffer from any prior medical issues. They added that he was not affiliated with any political organizations.

Al-Saradih had previously been wounded by gunfire in 2002 during the second intifada.

Changing story

Before the video was published, the Israeli military had claimed that al-Saradih attacked soldiers with a knife and attempted to steal a gun, Haaretz reported. They also stated that military medics treated al-Saradih on the scene.

The military retracted their initial statement and issued another one after the video emerged.

The new statement alleges that al-Saradih ran towards soldiers who were carrying out arrests of “wanted persons” in the city of Jericho and that he tried to attack them with an iron bar.

“The force responded with gunfire, confronted the terrorist and succeeded in stopping him,” it states.
It does not clearly state his cause of death, however.

According to Haaretz, al-Saradih’s body was taken to Israel’s Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for an autopsy, but no bullet wounds were found on the body.

“Therefore, the growing assessment is that the man died from the beating he sustained from the soldiers,” according to Haaretz.

Palestinians are planning to seek another autopsy in a Palestinian hospital once al-Saradih’s body is returned, the Palestinian Authority’s Qaraqe told media.

It is unclear how long Israel will withhold his body or whether it will allow another autopsy.

Impunity

This is not the first time an official Israeli version of events has had to be revised following the emergence of video, +972 Magazine observed.

For example, Israeli army medic Elor Azarya* was caught on video shooting at close range injured and disarmed Palestinian Abd al-Fattah Yusri al-Sharif while he was lying incapacitated on a street in Hebron in March 2016.

+972 Magazine characterized the initial reports as, “Soldier stabbed, assailants killed.”
“Everything changed a few hours later when video of the execution-style killing was published,” the Israeli news site added.

Israeli forces killed a second Palestinian during the same incident, Ramzi Aziz al-Qasrawi, though that slaying was not caught on video.

Addameer and the Palestinian Prisoner Club called on international bodies to respond in a way “which seeks accountability from the occupation authorities.”

However, even in cases that UN human rights officials have termed “shocking” and “incomprehensible” – such as December’s shooting by Israeli forces of disabled Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Thurayya** – nothing has been done to pierce Israel’s systematic impunity.
