Zuid-Afrika verbreekt alle diplomatieke banden met Israël

Eindelijk weer een land dat het aandurft de diplomatieke banden met de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël te verbreken, alle lof daarvoor!

Eerder bracht Zuid-Afrika haar vertegenwoordiging in Israël al terug van ambassade tot een simpele vertegenwoordiging en waarschuwde Z-A Israël tegen het op een zwarte lijst zetten van supporters van de BDS beweging (BDS: Boycot, Desinvesteringen en Sancties), supporters waaronder zich ook vooraanstaande Zuid-Afrikanen bevinden......

Zuid-Afrika, waar het grootste deel van de bevolking voor lange tijd zuchtte onder het apartheidsbewind van witte fascisten, stelt dat Israël het laatste land is waar apartheid bestaat. Althans dat laatste wordt in het artikel hieronder gesteld, echter als je alleen al de populatie in de VS gevangenissen ziet, zou dit (ook al gestolen) land toch minstens op de tweede plaats moeten staan........ Om over de vervolging van de Rohingya in Birma maar te zwijgen (voor meer berichten daarover, klik op de labels Rohingya en/of Birma, direct onder dit bericht)

Zo, als nu het westen ajb dezelfde stap neemt kunnen we, als eerder in Zuid-Afrika, een eind maken aan het bloederige apartheidsbeleid in Israël. Mensen boycot producten uit Israël zoals  de TIVAL vleesvervangers die Albert Heijn verkoopt.

South Africa to Cut All Diplomatic Ties With Israel

(MEMO) — The South African government is intending to cut diplomatic ties with Israel in protest of its treatment of the Palestinian people, the country’s Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor announced yesterday.

Pandor informed parliamentarians of the government’s resolution during a ten-hour joint debate on South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) that he delivered last week

“The majority party has agreed, that government must cut diplomatic ties with Israel, given the absence of genuine initiatives by Israel to secure lasting peace and a viable two-state solution that includes full freedom and democracy for the Palestinian people,” she said.

The comments were made in response to opposition leader Kenneth Meshoe, who had argued that it was disappointing that national and provincial authorities in South Africa had refused help from Israeli companies to address the country’s current water crisis.

However, the proposal was applauded by parliamentarians and Pandor, who is expected to be appointed vice president in Ramaphosa’s new Cabinet, was given a standing ovation as she left the podium.

The government’s decision was further confirmed on the South African Parliament’s official Twitter account.

South Africa has been a staunch ally of the Palestinian struggle and regularly spoken out against the atrocities committed by the Israeli government.

Last month, the South African representative to the UN told the Human Rights Council that Israel is the “only state in the world that can be described as an apartheid state”, just days after the ruling African National Congress (ANC) party called for government ministers to strengthen the country’s visa restrictions with Israel.

Last year, the government also resolved to downgrade the South African Embassy in Israel to a liaison office, and cautioned Tel Aviv for blacklisting supporters of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which included prominent figures of the ANC.

The BDS South Africa campaign has witnessed significant support from the nation’s public, with universities and churches backing a cultural and economic boycott of Israel affiliated organisations.

Dit was echter van korte duur, Israël wist via een paar extreem rechtse pro-Israëlische groepen, de eerder door New Orleans aangenomen resolutie ingetrokken te krijgen..........

Zo bepaalt deze uitermate gevaarlijke terreurentiteit, bekend als Israël, meer en meer de binnen en buitelandpolitiek van de meeste westerse landen en zelfs de politiek in steden...... Door ook maar één letter van kritiek op Israël te uiten in de openbaarheid, krijg je onmiddellijk het stempel antisemiet en ten tweede de toevoeging fascist of nazi opgeplakt......... (tot semieten behoren overigens ook de arabische volkeren!)

Overigens waren het Israëlische officieren die begin negentiger jaren de klok luidden over hun militaire opleiding, waar het handboek van de SS als leidraad werd gebruikt voor o.a. het beheersen van een mensenmassa (tot hele huizenblokken en zelfs tot complete getto's....).....

Under Pressure From Pro-Israel Groups, New Orleans Repeals BDS Resolution

(MEE) — The New Orleans City Council rescinded a human rights resolution backed by Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) advocates after pressure from pro-Israel politicians and groups.

The short-lived resolution, which was withdrawn on Thursday, recommended removing corporations that violate human rights from the city’s list of contractual partners, but it did not specifically mention Israel or Palestine.

The New Orleans Palestinian Solidarity Committee (NOPSC) had pushed the measure, known as R-18-5, which drew the ire of Israel’s supporters immediately after its passage.

Max Geller, a member of the New Orleans Palestinian Solidarity Committee, said city officials had been “cowardly” in succumbing to pressure from the Israeli lobby.

Still, opponents of the measure had called the resolution bigoted and unjustified.

“The BDS movement, which has inherently anti-Semitic components, is designed to challenge Israel’s economic viability and very right to exist,” the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans (JFGNO) said in a statement on 12 January, a day after the measure was passed.

In a joint statement, JFGNO and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) welcomed scrapping the resolution, saying that BDS “does not advance the discussion towards meaningful resolution and peace between Israelis and Palestinians, or a workable two state solution.”

The BDS movement started as a call by Palestinian civil society activists for a peaceful means to resist the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. They liken their movement to boycott calls against the apartheid government in South Africa in the 1960s.

BDS critics accuse it of anti-Semitism because it targets Israel.

Geller told MEE that Israel’s supporters are only interested in maintaining the “apartheid practices” of the Israeli government.

“There’s nothing anti-Semitic about non-violently resisting state violence,” Geller said in defense of BDS.

“There’s nothing anti-Semitic about putting an end to ethnic cleansing and allowing people to stay on their own land.”

Council members felt a backlash from pro-Israeli groups “immediately” after the resolution was passed.

“Almost immediately, my fellow council members and I received sharp criticism for the manner in which the resolution was passed, as well as the unintended, but serious consequences of its passage,” Mayor-elect  LaToya Cantrell said in a statement.

Although she authored and introduced the measure, Cantrell added that its “unintended impact does not reflect my commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and respect and support for civil rights, human rights and freedoms of all New Orleanians.”

New Orleans-based Republican State Senator Conrad Appel‏ had called the pro-BDS resolution “absurd.”

Outgoing Mayor Mitch Landrieu also said in a statement that the resolution does not represent the policy of the city, calling the measure “gratuitous.”

Even outside New Orleans, pro-Israel politicians slammed the resolution, with South Carolina State Representative Alan Clemmons calling for a boycott against the southern city.

One after another, council members started distancing themselves from the pro-BDS measure that they had approved.

Council President Jason Williams, who co-sponsored the resolution, said he had to educate himself about BDS and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after R-18-5 was passed.

“Let me be very clear to citizens of New Orleans and citizens of the world; this city council is not anti-Israel,” Williams said in a statement. “That sentiment is inconsistent with the council’s actions and certainly mine personally.”

However, BDS activists say city officials knew exactly what they were voting on, and Williams had cited the boycott against apartheid in South Africa while discussing the resolution.

The council president did not return MEE’s request for comment.

Geller said council members are acting like they did not know the aim of R-18-5, which “doesn’t jive with reality”.

He said Palestinian rights activists had had dozens of interactions with council members before 11 January and every single time, they introduced themselves as the New Orleans Palestinian Solidarity Committee.

Despite the disappointment, Tabitha Mustafa, an organiser for the Solidarity Committee, said the repeal of the resolution is not a loss for BDS.

She explained that the affair has put Palestinian suffering and Israeli abuses in the public eye.

“We haven’t lost anything. This is a victory. I would like to say thank you to the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans for getting out the word about Palestinian human rights and Israeli apartheid violations of human rights.”

16 jarige Ahed al-Tamimi is volgens militaire rechter te gevaarlijk om op borgtocht vrij te laten........

Een Israëlische militaire 'rechter' is een hufter die probeert alle misdaden van militairen onbestraft te laten en Palestijnen zelfs voor een vergrijp als het gooien met stenen (dit in NB door Israël illegaal bezet gebied!) de hoogste straffen op te leggen......

Zo ook de militaire 'rechter' die besloot dat Ahed al-Tamimi, het 16 jarige Palestijnse meisje*, niet op borgtocht mag worden vrijgelaten, daar ze te gevaarlijk zou zijn........ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Door deze beslissing is het vrijwel zeker, dat Ahed tot vele maanden gevangenisstraf zal worden veroordeeld, dit voor een op z'n zachtst gezegd belachelijke..... Zoals veel Palestijnse kinderen in Israëlische gevangenissen zitten, om nog maar te zwijgen over een fiks aantal van hen, die 'in administratieve hechtenis zitten', deze kinderen worden voor onbepaalde tijd vastgehouden, zonder dat ze ooit een rechter te zien krijgen...... Dit is een extreme vorm van marteling, immers we hebben hier met kinderen te maken, daarnaast is het een grove schending van de mensen- en kinderrechten..........

Er zou nu ook een aanklacht tegen Ahed lopen vanwege het gooien met stenen, wat beboet kan worden met 10 jaar gevangenisstraf, 'een steen gooien (en al zeker door kinderen onder de 18 jaar) is immers net zo gevaarlijk als het afschieten van een kogel uit een 9 mm pistool........'

Daarover gesproken, een militair die het vuur opende op een auto met o.a. Palestijnse kinderen, die terugkwamen van het zwemmen, wordt ondanks het niet volgen van de instructies en het plegen van een moord, gevrijwaard van vervolging, 'de rechter en officier van 'justitie' begrepen de psychopathische fascist wel....'**

Hoe lang nog laat de wereld Israël nog begaan met haar geweld tegen een volk dat geheel legitiem hun eigen land opeist?? A 16-year-old Palestinian girl faces months in prison before she is tried for slapping an Israeli soldier in protests in the West Bank over the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

An Israeli military judge on Wednesday ordered Ahed Tamimi to remain in Israeli custody until she faces trial on charges of throwing stones - punishable by up to 10 years in jail in Israel - incitement and making threats.

Ahed was filmed slapping the Israeli soldier in al-Nabi Saleh, a small village in the occupied West Bank, on 15 December. She was arrested several days later following protests from right-wing Israeli politicians and press.

The 16-year-old's mother has also been ordered held until trial.

"I found no alternative other than to order her detention in custody until the end of proceedings," the judge ruled.

"The gravity of the offences of which she is accused does not allow an alternative to custody."

Ahed has been hailed as a hero by Palestinians who see her as bravely standing up to Israel's occupation of the West Bank.

Representatives from the French and Swedish consulates as well as the EU attended the hearing for Ahed, who sat impassively in a khaki prison jacket.

"The court said that because she is so dangerous there is no possibility of bail," her lawyer Gaby Lasky said.

Human rights groups have criticised the minor's continued detention since her arrest on 19 December, while the EU has expressed concern. Lasky says it violates international child welfare conventions. 

Ahed's mother, Nariman, was arrested on the same day as her daughter and accused of incitement, while her cousin Nour Tamimi, 20, was arrested on 20 December, and released on bail on 5 January.

Ahed Tamimi's family says the 15 December video happened in the yard of their home in al-Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah in the West Bank.

Israel's military said the soldiers were in the area to prevent Palestinians from throwing stones at Israeli motorists.

A video shows the cousins approaching two soldiers and telling them to leave before shoving, kicking and slapping them. Ahed is seen slapping one in the face. 

B'Tselem, the Israeli human rights group, condemned the judge's decision.

"Remand in custody – even of minors – is part of the routine of oppression that Israel employs against Palestinians, with the full backing of the military courts, a system in which both judges and prosecutors are always military personnel, the defendants always Palestinian, and the conviction rate almost 100 percent," it said.

"These proceedings reveal the disgrace of Israel’s military regime as a whole, and of its military courts in particular.

"In this system, the judges and prosecutors are always military personnel, the defendants are always Palestinian, and the conviction rate is almost 100 per cent.

"This so-called justice system is one of the most offensive mechanisms employed under Israel’s occupation regime.

"Its goal is not to serve truth and justice, but to preserve Israel’s control over the Palestinian people. This is true of the Tamimi family – and of thousands of others."

Er zijn van die berichten waar m'n bloed van gaat koken, zoals het bericht op Anti-Media (overgenomen van Middle East Monitor) over het niet vervolgen van een Israëlische militair, die het vuur opende op een auto, daar hij en z'n psychopathische collega's de inzittenden van een auto verdachten van het eerder gooien met stenen........

Nogmaals: op verdenking van het gooien met stenen, schiet je mensen dood, dus ten eerste een verdenking en ten tweede schieten op mensen die met stenen zouden hebben gegooid, ofwel geen mensen die met vuurwapens zouden hebben geschoten, maar ('encore') met stenen zouden hebben gegooid......

Dan te bedenken dat het 16 jarige Palestijns meisje Ahed al-Tamimi al weer weken vastzit in de gevangenis voor het slaan van een zwaarbewapende militair, gekleed in beschermend uniform......*

No Charges for Israeli Soldier Who Killed Palestinian Child Returning From Swimming

(MEMO) — An Israeli army officer who opened fire on a car of Palestinian civilians, killing a 15-year-old boy, will not be prosecuted, it was reported.

Mahmoud Badran was killed, and four friends wounded, after returning from a swimming pool on the night of 21 June 2016.

At the time, the Israeli military claimed the forces responsible believed the car of youngsters were responsible for throwing stones at Route 443 in the occupied West Bank. Mahmoud Badran was killed, and four friends wounded, after returning from a swimming pool on the night of 21 June 2016.

An investigation by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID) has now concluded that the “mistake” was a reasonable one to make in the circumstances, despite the fact that the officer opened fire in violation of the regulations.

According to Haaretz, the officer in question is a platoon commander in the Kfir Brigade, which is based in the occupied West Bank. He, and two colleagues, were driving towards Jerusalem in plain clothes when they noticed stones and an oil patch on the road, and a bus parked up on the side.

After driving to where they believed the stones had been thrown from, the officer and soldiers got out and opened fire on a car driving on a road under Route 443. Open-fire regulations in the West Bank state that when a vehicle does not endanger the soldiers, shots must be fired in the air.

According to Israeli rights group B’Tselem, “massive fire” was directed at the vehicle of Palestinian youngsters, despite the fact that there was zero indication its occupants were responsible for the stone-throwing (and even if there had been, lethal force was unjustified).

The MPCID investigation similarly concluded that the officer had not seen the stone throwers, and targeted the car purely due to its proximity to the site. Despite such findings, no indictment will be filed against the officer, not even for causing death by negligence.   

According to Haaretz, the officer faces dismissal for his conduct during the incident. The army spokesperson told the paper that the findings were still being examined by the Military Advocate General’s office ahead of a final decision.   .

At the time, B’Tselem predicted that the investigation would produce no results, slamming “the military law enforcement system” as “a whitewashing mechanism.”
