Indonesië geeft landbouwgrond aan steenkoolmaffia, gevolg: hoge voedselprijzen en daarmee ondervoeding voor miljoenen.........

Gisteren ontving ik een petitie van het Care2 team waardoor de haren me te berge rezen. De corrupte Indonesische overheid ontneemt boeren hun landbouwgrond t.b.v. de steenkoolmaffia. Intussen is al 20% van de rijstvelden ten slachtoffer gevallen aan mijnbouw......

Uiteraard heeft dit z'n weerslag op de voedselprijs en daarmee voor de mogelijkheid van het grote aantal arme mensen in Indonesië zich goed te kunnen voeden........ 20 miljoen mensen komen niet aan hun dagelijkse basis voedselbehoefte en 8 miljoen kinderen zijn al ondervoed..........

De gebieden waar die deels dagmijnbouw heeft plaatsgevonden, zijn voor vele generaties onbruikbaar geworden voor de teelt van rijst en groente, dit ook vanwege het gebruik van chemicaliën voor deze mijnbouw......... De mensen in die gebieden krijgen mede daardoor te maken met vervuild drinkwater, terwijl ze niet de middelen hebben die gebieden te verlaten......

Indonesia: Put People Before Pollution

                 




In Indonesia, access to food isn't a privilege shared by all. 20 million people don't get their basic dietary requirements met every day. 8 million children under the age of five are malnourished.

But instead of addressing the factors behind these sad statistics, like food costs, the government is doing the opposite.

With millions of people facing food insecurity in the country, Indonesia is handing over agricultural lands to mining companies. Already coal interests have taken hold of nearly 20% of the country's rice-growing land. As a result, food costs are increasing, and those in need are left without enough to eat.

These mines are also polluting the environment. In addition to the huge impact on climate change, coal mining leads to land and water degradation. Chemical runoffs make lands unsuitable for future agricultural use, affecting community health for generations. Villagers living near mining areas have no choice but to use the water contaminated by coal mines.

The Indonesian government must get its priorities straight. As the fourth most populous country in the world, the government's decisions matter. The world doesn't need more coal, but the Indonesian people do need food security.

Tell President Joko Widodo to stop putting the interests of polluters ahead of his own people.

2017: Indonesische homo's veroordeeld tot 100 stokslagen.........

Afgelopen donderdag ontving ik van Miranda B., lid van het Care2 team, een petitie die is gericht aan de Indonesische president Joko Widodo.

De petitie is opgesteld n.a.v. de veroordeling van 2 homoseksuele mannen tot 100 slagen met een stok, dit alleen vanwege het feit dat ze homo zijn..........

Kortzichtige buren hadden de mannen betrapt toen zij seks hadden...... Nadat de 2 waren afgetuigd door dit geteisem, werden ze overgedragen aan de politie............

I.p.v. de buren die zich zo hadden misdragen te arresteren, werden de 2 mannen gearresteerd.....

De 2 werden later veroordeeld tot de barbaarse straf van 100 stokslagen, een verschrikkelijke vorm van martelen.......

Homoseksualiteit is geen aandoening of een perversie, het is een normale aangeboren geaardheid....

'Opvallend veel aandacht voor deze zaak' in de reguliere Nederlandse media (maar niet heus), 'logisch voor zo'n futiliteit ga je de handelsbetrekkingen tussen Nederland en Indonesië niet op het spel zetten.....' Geld voor alles tenslotte!! Vandaar ook dat de zwaar wanpresterend demissionair minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, PvdA sierdrol Koenders, niets over deze zaak losliet, laat staan dat hij de Indonesische ambassadeur 'op het matje heeft geroepen........'

Mensen, het is 2017, hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk dat dit soort zaken nog steeds voorkomen??? Lees en teken de petitie ajb en geeft het door aan familie, vrienden en bekenden!

Indonesia: Release Gay Men,
Don't Torture Them!

On March 28, two young men were arrested in Indonesia. They face 100 lashings with a cane, and have been imprisoned for more than a month. And it's all because they're gay.

Demand Indonesian President Widodo revoke the punishment on these young men! Sign the petition now.

Vigilante neighbors were suspicious of the pair, aged 20 and 23 years old, and intentionally burst in on them while they were having sex. After beating and mocking the couple, the vigilantes turned them over to the police. Now, the young men are awaiting trial as the first people ever to be charged under Indonesia's new anti-gay laws.

As members of the Care2 community, we need to speak together with one voice to demand freedom for these two men. No one should face persecution, detainment or flogging based on who they are or whom they love.

Indonesia's new laws promote hate and violence towards the LBGTQ community, which is both unacceptable and terrifying. This case will set a precedent that could become a horrifying norm for gay people all across Indonesia. We must speak out now before this couple and others are tortured and imprisoned.

Demand Indonesian President Revoke Punishment on Gay Men

Two men have been imprisoned and face 100 lashings with a cane. Their crime: being gay.These two young men were arrested by vigilantes who burst on them having sex and arrested them. They have been detained for 10 days already. 

They are the first people to be charged under the new anti-gay laws in Indonesia. These laws promote hate and violence towards the LGBT community. No one should face persecution based on their sexual preferences. 


Any punishment is an affront to humans rights and must be stopped. By pressuring President Widodo we can send a strong message that the word is watching and will not stand idly by while people are persecuted for their sexual identity.

Afgelopen vrijdag bracht Information Clearing House het bericht, dat de VS, Australië en Groot-Brittannië mede verantwoordelijk zijn voor de jacht halverwege de 60er jaren op 'communisten', die daarna werden gemarteld en (gruwelijk) vermoord....... In totaal werden naar schatting 500.000 van communistisch verdacht zijnde Indonesiërs vermoord.

Dat de VS (o.a. middels de CIA) daar medeplichtig aan was, is geen nieuws, wel schokkend te horen, dat Groot-Brittannië en Australië medeplichtig zijn aan deze barbaarse massamoord.......

De huidige Indonesische president Widodo weigert zijn excuus te maken, voor deze barbaarse misdaden, waarmee je hem wat mij betreft mede verantwoordelijk kan stellen!!

Australia, UK, US Complicit in Indonesian Massacres, International Judges Say

July 21, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "ABC" -  A non-binding international tribunal at The Hague has found Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States were complicit in facilitating the 1965 mass killings in Indonesia.

Key points:

• 500,000 Indonesians killed in anti-communist purge at height of Cold War
  
• Report found Australia continued to back army despite knowing about the killings
  
• President Joko Widodo has refused to apologise for historic murders

An estimated half a million people perished in what was one of the worst massacres of the 20th Century. The killings were triggered by a failed coup that led to the deaths of six army generals, followed by the mass targeting of communists.

The International People's Tribunal at The Hague has now ruled that Indonesia committed crimes against humanity, but the finding is non-binding and carries no legal weight.

The judges found allegations of "cruel and unspeakable murders" and the "unjustifiable imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of people without trial" was well founded.

"It has also been demonstrated that sexual violence, particularly against women, was systematic and routine, especially during the period 1965 to 1967," the report said.

The judges found Indonesia responsible for the crimes and called for the current administration to apologise and to institute investigations and prosecutions of those perpetrators who are still alive.

"Furthermore, the archives should be opened and the real truth on these crimes against humanity should be established," the judges said.

The tribunal's report found Australia, the US and the UK complicit by using propaganda to manipulate international opinion in favour of the Indonesian army.

The report said Australia and the UK, " … shared the US aim of seeking to bring about the overthrow of president Sukarno."

"They continued with this policy even after it had become abundantly clear that killings were taking place on a mass and indiscriminate basis. On balance, this appears to justify the charge of complicity," the report said.

The report detailed horrifying details of rape and torture, including accused communists being forced to drink soldiers' urine, while in other cases victims' ears were cut off and they were forced to consume them.

According to the report, other acts of torture included, burning body parts, electric shocks, water torture, pulling out of fingernails and tying victims inside a sack with snakes.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has said he will not apologise for the historic atrocity, but the report argued it was his duty to do so.
