Twee Palestijnse kinderen komen om door brand >> Israëlische militairen blokkeerden brandweer

Het zoveelste staaltje beestachtige wreedheid van het Israëlische leger en zoals zo vaak op de illegaal door Israël bezette West Bank....... In het oude centrum van Hebron raakte een huis in brand, waarin zich nog twee kinderen bevonden...... De brandweer werd de doorgang ontzegt door militairen bij een wegversperring, waardoor 1 van de jongetjes 's nachts overleed en de andere de volgende morgen in het ziekenhuis...... Een derde broertje ligt in het ziekenhuis op de intensive care met brandwonden.......

Israëlische militairen bij de wegversperring werd gesmeekt de brandweerwagen snel doorgang te verlenen, juist vanwege de kinderen.... Tevergeefs.....

Beste bezoeker is het niet om doodziek van te worden?? Als je dacht dat dit wel niet veel zal voorkomen, helaas: sinds 2015 heeft het Israëlisch psychopatenleger 123 keer ambulances gestopt...... Dat was het nog niet beste bezoeker: 386 keer zijn teams van de Rode Halvemaan aangevallen door kolonisten en Israelsiche militairen op de (nogmaals) illegaal door Israël bezette gebieden van de West Bank....... Voorts zijn in diezelfde periode 105 ambulances vernield, dan wel beschadigd.......

Afgelopen december schoten Israëlische psychopaten een kind neer in vluchtelingenkamp Al-Jalazun, waarna ze een toegesnelde ambulance verjaagden, pas een kwartier later werd een ambulance toegelaten, onderweg naar het ziekenhuis overleed het kind.......

Hoe kan de wereld dit aan blijven zien, zonder in te grijpen en dat al dik meer dan 70 jaar.......

Tot slot: ziek, als je bij nazoeken van zaken op een pro-Israëlische site komt genaamd 'Israellycool', waar men bijvoorbeeld stelt dat er aanvankelijk werd gemeld dat de twee kinderen in de brand waren omgekomen, terwijl later bleek dat de ander 'pas' de volgende morgen in het ziekenhuis is overleden en vanwege dat feit de hele zaak afdoen als anti-Israëlische propaganda........ Misselijk makend..... Hier de link naar de site, waarop tevens reclame voor PayPal en P patron wordt gemaakt (via deze betaaldiensten kan je geld overmaken naar deze fascistische psychopaten website....)....

Two Palestinian Children Killed in Blaze After Israel Blocks Fire Brigade

(MEMO) — Two Palestinian children have been killed in a blaze at their home in occupied Hebron after the Israeli authorities prevented the fire brigade from reaching them in time.

The two children – one of whom is believed to have been just 18-months old – were burned to death in a fire at their home in the Al-Salaymeh neighbourhood of Hebron’s Old City in the occupied West Bank. One was reported dead late last night, while the second succumbed to the burns received this morning after receiving emergency treatment at the nearby Hebron government hospital. A third child, thought to be the dead children’s brother, also suffered severe burns in the incident and remains in intensive care, according to hospital Director Dr Walid Zalloum.

The names of the three children have not been released formally, but Palestinian news site Palestine Today named the two who were killed as four-year-old Wael Al-Rajabi and his 18-month-old sister Malik. The local police spokesman, Colonel Loai Arziqat, confirmed in a press statement that two children had died, but did not offer further information.

Though the emergency services were called, the fire brigade was prevented from reaching the scene by Israeli soldiers. In a video filmed last night at 21:50 local time (19:50 GMT), the fire engine can be seen trying to drive down a narrow street. The truck comes to a stop at a road block obstructing the way, while local residents implore the Israeli soldiers stationed there to “open the gate quickly, for the children.”

The Israeli soldiers, however, did not yield to the onlookers’ pleas, delaying the emergency services’ response and preventing them from reaching the property. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Israel is no stranger to restricting emergency services’ access to Palestinians in need. According to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), citing the Palestine Red Crescent Society, since 2015 Israel has prevented ambulances from crossing checkpoints on 123 occasions. In addition, there were 386 attacks against Red Crescent teams across the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) during the same period, as well as 105 ambulances damaged.

In December, Israeli soldiers shot a Palestinian child then prevented him from receiving potentially life-saving medical treatment; he died soon thereafter. Seventeen-year-old Mahmoud Nakhle was shot as Israeli forces suppressed protests around Al-Jalazun refugee camp near Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank. A few minutes later, the soldiers chased off a Palestinian ambulance, threatening the driver with their rifles and not giving Nakhle first aid themselves.

Only after a quarter of an hour did the soldiers allow an ambulance to be summoned, but Nakhle died en route to hospital.

Under international law, as the occupying power Israel is forbidden from preventing access to medical care and emergency services to the people living under its occupation. According to the Fourth Geneva Convention, “The occupying power must ensure sufficient hygiene and public health standards, as well as the provision of food and medical care to the population under occupation.” In addition, “Personnel of the International Red Crescent Movement must be allowed to carry out their humanitarian activities.”

Israel, however, continues to breach this and other articles of international laws and conventions with impunity.

Dagboek Hebron: de voortdurende Israëlische terreur 1

Het Hebron Freedom Fund (Working for Peace and Justice) is begonnen met een dagboek waarin zoveel mogelijk de dagelijkse ellende wordt beschreven, die Palestijnse burgers van Hebron ondervinden van het uiterst gewelddadige Israëlische leger en de psychopaten die zich kolonisten noemen (en daar godbetert nog trots op zijn ook....). Beiden illegaal aanwezig op de West Bank en dus ook in en nabij Hebron.........

Beste bezoeker, zoals je ongetwijfeld weet is het niet mis waar deze Palestijnse mensen mee te maken krijgen, echter de dagelijkse werkelijkheid is nog veel erger dan je je kunt voorstellen: opsluiting in het eigen huis, blokkades waar de burgers keer op keer worden vernederd door Israëlische militairen, ontzegging van toegang voor Palestijnse boeren tot de eigen landbouwgrond, landjepik, terreur ook door de illegale bezetters ofwel de kolonisten van de West Bank, ontvoering, gijzeling (vasthouden zonder vorm van proces, wat zelfs kinderen overkomt.....) en veel te vaak zelfs (massa-) moord......

Ik zal deze nieuwsbrieven in de vorm van een dagboek blijven overnemen, zoals het zich laat aanzien zal dit dagboek door het Hebron Freedom Fund één keer per week worden bijgewerkt.

Updates from Hebron: June 1-15, 2018

JUNE 1

An Israeli military patrol vehicle hit Hebron teenager Muhammad al-Zaru, near the Ibrahimi Mosque, in the Old City of Hebron.

JUNE 2

Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian construction worker Rami Wahid Sabarneh. A husband and father of four, the 37-year-old was from the Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar. The military claimed he was attempting to carry out a vehicular attack, a assertion witnesses have vehemently denied. Israeli soldiers prevented an ambulance from reaching Sabarneh to provide him with medical aid. 

JUNE 4

In the morning Israeli Occupation Forces arrested 39-year-old Suzan Al-Oweiwi, an elected member of the Hebron municipal council from her house. 

                

In the afternoon, Israeli settlers entered and tried to occupy a Palestinian house in the old city of Hebron. Thankfully, after few hours, they left the house. 

In the evening, the Israeli Military claimed they were searching for a “suspicious looking” Palestinian in the Tel Rumida neighborhood, shooting four rounds of live ammunition and two flares into the air, one of which started a fire. During their search, they declared the area a closed military zone, preventing residents from adjacent neighborhoods from entering the area.

The soldiers detained 45-year-old Ashrf Said and his young son on their way to pray, during the holy month of Ramadan. After being released and allowed to continue on, another soldier threatened Said with his M16.

On their return, father and son were again stopped. Soldiers violently searched Said's body. When our human rights observers/volunteers tried to translate for him, they were also threatened. See the video taken by Youth Against Settlements. 

JUNE 7 

Early in the morning, the Israeli military welded shut the front doors of Sami Zahda’s house, on the beginning section of Shuhada street which Palestinians are still able to access. Left inside were Sami, his wife and their 3 & 4 year old sons. The building’s landlord tried to appeal to the soldiers, explaining that the only other exit was too dangerous to use.

Due to pressure from the local community and human rights groups, at 4pm the soldiers finally unsealed the front door.

However, by evening, a large group of settler children, encouraged by the adult settler population, had congregated on the stoop of the house, harassing the family and the rest of the Palestinian population. Rather than ensuring safety for all, the soldiers accommodated the violent activities of the children and declared the entire area a closed military zone.  

Welding shut Palestinian front doors in Hebron is part of a wider strategy of closure and coerced resettlement spanning back 25 years in order to kill the Palestinian identity of Hebron. 

JUNE 10 

In the early hours of the morning, the Israeli military once again welded shut the doors of the Zahda family house, despite protests of surrounding Palestinian families and the illegality of these actions under international and even Israeli law. 

JUNE 11

Israeli soldiers threw large rocks and a bottle of juice at the Youth Against Settlement center in Tel Rumeida. The soldiers' actions followed a gathering at the center for Iftar breaking of the fast. 

Upping their harassment, the Israeli Military arrested Youth Against Settlements spokesperson Mohammad Zoghayer on his way to the center, claiming that he appeared "suspicious." Thankfully, he was released the next day.

Eid Mubarak (a happy holiday) to all

Friday marked the Muslim holiday of Eid al Fitr, the end of the Ramadan holiday month and the beginning of a new year.

As Eid approaches, the commercial streets of Hebron's old city are filled with uncharacteristic life (throughout the rest of the year the devastating impact the occupation has turned the old city into a ghost town). Families prepare for the celebration by buying new clothes and stocking their pantries with supplies for the Eid al Fitr feast. A favorite stop is al Sahel al Akhdar sweets, where they’ve been producing Ramadan treats, like these Suhoney pistachio borma, for the past 25 years. We encourage you to come to Hebron where you can enjoy these sweets for yourself.

Zoals zo vaak bestaat ook deze stap 'in het vredesproces' uit een uitbreiding van een illegale nederzetting op de illegaal bezette westelijke Jordaanoever (ofwel: West Bank).......... Nu wordt een illegale nederzetting in Hebron, voor het eerst in 15 jaar uitgebreid met 31 wooneenheden, waarmee de joodse bevolking van die nederzetting stijgt met 20%........

De bestaande bevolking van die nederzetting staat bekend als uiterst gewelddadig en ideologisch extreem (in haar fascistisch zionistische apartheidsideologie)........

Met die uitbreiding wordt het leven van de Palestijnen in Hebron nog meer ondraaglijk en zal hun bewegingsvrijheid zo mogelijk nog verder worden ingeperkt.....

Israel to build first new settlements in Hebron in 15 years



Israel just approved 31 settlement units to be built on Shuhada Street. They will be the first new settlement housing in Hebron since 2002.  Hebron settlers are known for being the most violent and ideologically extreme of the settler movement. The new units will increase the settler population by 20%.

“The decision to build new settler housing violates international law. It will make life even more unbearable for Palestinians living in the Old City. We are already suffering from checkpoints, closures and repeated attacks from Israeli settlers and soldiers," said Issa Amro.

Construction has not begun yet and even Israel has said public opinion could be taken into account before final approval. We will resist! Sign our petition to oppose the new settlement units.

The site on Shuhada Street where they plan to put the 31 new settlement units, used to be the Palestinian bus station in Hebron. It was confiscated in the 1980's by the Israel military. An army base was installed. After the 1994 Ibrahimi mosque massacre by American born settler Baruch Goldstein, Shuhada Street was closed almost entirely to Palestinians. It remains closed today. Each year, Youth Against Settlements holds an annual protest to demand Shuahda street be reopened and Palestinians be guaranteed freedom and equality.

Thirty-one new units will massively increase the restrictions and violence against Palestinians. Already Hebron is comprised of streets that are divided by religion and neighborhoods that are fenced off into ghettos.

Instead of building more settler housing, Israel should be removing the settlers and soldiers from Hebron. The streets and shops that have been closed to Palestinians for decades should be reopened. Rabbis' visit comes after 50th anniversary of Israel's occupation of West Bank. What hadn’t been planned, though, up was that their trip would coincide with one of the worst crises ever in relations between Israel and the U.S. Jewish community.

Rabbi Stanley Kessler first visited Hebron in 1967, just after the Six-Day War. He returned for a second visit in 1973. This week, at age 94, he came back for his third trip and hardly recognized the city.

“I have difficulty seeing what I’m seeing,” he says, pausing for a moment of reflection after a stroll, on a sweltering day, through what used to be the bustling center of this West Bank city. “On my previous trips, the streets were swarming with people. And now, I didn’t even see one single person.”

Eergisteren zei Rutte nog, dat Mandela wist, dat Nederland voorop liep in de strijd tegen de apartheid, gisteren zei hij over de Israëlische premier Netanyahu, die nog steeds een apartheidsbewind leidt, dat het zijn goede vriend is..........

In Nieuwsuur zei de zwaar disfunctionerende VVD kleuterpremier Rutte gisteravond, dat het gevalletje met de scanner helemaal geen probleem is, het is gewoon nog 'onderwerp van bespreking............' En ach, dat daar 3 miljoen euro Nederlands belastinggeld inzit en dat dit ding voorlopig nog niet zal werken, wie kan zich daar nu druk om maken? Veel fanatiek geblaat, dat het toch zo'n succes was, dit lullige bezoek. De hufter politici kunnen maar beter de ondernemers zelf contacten laten leggen en hoogstens Nederlandse bedrijven waarschuwen, geen zaken te doen met Israëliërs (zeker niet met Israëlische bedrijven, in door hen bezette gebieden). De contacten die nu gelegd zijn, zijn niet het resultaat van dit bijzondere blunderbezoek, daar veranderen ook 10 leugens niets aan!!!!

Het meest vreemde aan het bezoek dat PvdA idioot de luxe, Timmermans aan Hebron zou brengen was wel, dat hij ook de Israëlische nederzettingen in Hebron zou bezoeken...... Lijkt me een aardige schoffering voor de Palestijnen. Bovendien geef je daar het signaal mee af aan de Palestijnen, dat je best zaken wilt doen met Israëliërs in de bezette gebieden.......
Als je dan zo graag met beiden zaken wilt doen, doe dit dan niet in die steden. Of zouden deze 2 superklungels en PvdA dindongleeghoofd Ploumen gedacht hebben, dat zij het Palestijns-Israëlisch conflict wel even in 2 dagen zouden oplossen? Te gek voor woorden, maar het zou me in dit geval, met Ploumen, Timmermans en Rutte totaal niet verbazen..............

Nogmaals, het wordt de hoogste tijd, dat handelsmissies niet meer vergezeld gaan van politici. Zittende regeringen zijn er voor het volk, dat hen gekozen heeft, men noemt hen niet voor niets volksvertegenwoordigers, de praktijk is, dat zittende regeringen in eerste instantie lobbyisten zijn voor het bedrijfsleven........
