Paddo's en MDMA: verboden geneeskrachtige softdrugs!

Twee berichten die wijzen op de 'geneeskrachtige' eigenschappen van de softdrugs MDMA en paddo's, die over MDMA van 30 augustus jl. en het artikel over paddo's van afgelopen maandag.

De (VS) Food and Drug Administration heeft MDMA eindelijk aangewezen als een middel voor een baanbrekende therapie tegen posttraumatische stressstoornis (PTSS). De Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)meldde e.e.a., deze organisatie ijvert al vanaf 1986 om deze stof in te zetten tegen PTSS.

Bovendien is uit studies gebleken, dat MDMA ook mensen met andere stoornissen kan helpen zoals mensen met een sociale angststoornis.

Eerdere berichten dat MDMA bij veelvuldig gebruik hersenschade zou veroorzaken, zijn middels andere studies naar het rijk der fabelen verwezen. Bovendien is MDMA de belangrijkste stof in XTC, dagelijks gebruik van grote hoeveelheden is zonder gebruik van harddrugs als speed, zo goed als onmogelijk, daar je na fiks te hebben gebruikt, de volgende dag ongelofelijk moe bent (hetzelfde geldt overigens voor LSD, ook al een stof die in therapieën wordt ingezet).

Overigens dient nog opgemerkt te worden dat ook cannabis (of wiet, zo je wilt) op een paar gebieden een sterke geneeskrachtige werking heeft, zoals je ongetwijfeld al veel eerder zal hebben begrepen. Zo wordt cannabis ingezet tegen bepaalde vormen van kanker.

Het tweede artikel beschrijft de geneeskrachtige werking van paddo's. Onderzoekers van het Imperial College London hebben de werkzame stof psilocybine, die een aantal paddenstoelensoorten  bevatten, aangewezen als een probaat middel tegen depressies. De hersenen van depressieve mensen worden met deze stof 'gereset' en dat gebeurt zelfs in vrij korte tijd, waarna deze mensen aanmerkelijke verbeteringen in hun geestelijk leven constateren!

Ongelofelijk dat stoffen als MDMA, paddo's en LSD zijn verboden in Nederland....... Terwijl er voor de harddrug die verreweg de meeste schade veroorzaakt, gewoon reclame gemaakt mag worden, je had het alweer begrepen: de harddrug alcohol..... Alcohol richt die schade aan bij zowel de gebruiker, diens omgeving en de maatschappij in haar geheel en dat zowel direct als indirect............ Dagelijks overlijden 12 mensen aan de gevolgen van langdurig en overmatig alcoholgebruik........

Meer en meer probeert men XTC als veel gevaarlijker aan te wijzen, waarbij men wijst op meerdere doden per jaar, echter jaarlijks wordt er door de reguliere media gemiddeld over 2 XTC doden gesproken........ In die berichten schenkt men dan ook nog eens geen aandacht aan de enorme hoeveelheid alcohol die de slachtoffers bijna zonder uitzondering (naast de XTC) hebben gebruikt, om nog maar te zwijgen over zwaar medicijngebruik naast die XTC (en alcohol).......

Met paddo's is het nog zotter, de VVD lobbyist voor de drugsmaffia, de murmelende plork Opstelten verbood paddo's nadat er godbetert in één jaar tijd twee mensen overleden, na onder meer paddo's te hebben gebruikt....... Terwijl in het ene geval, een Franse tiener met psychische problemen, deze naast paddo's ook alcohol en psychofarmaca had gebruikt en het andere geval, een man die naast paddo's hele sloten alcohol had gebruikt........ Niet moeilijk te raden welke stof werkelijk verantwoordelijk was voor het overlijden: alcohol, de harddrug die zoals gezegd 12 doden per dag eist.........

Het drugsbeleid is knotsknettergek en contraproductief!! (en kost daarnaast een enorme zinloze politie-inzet!)

FDA Finally Labels MDMA as ‘Breakthrough Therapy’ for PTSD

(ANTIMEDIA) — This week, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) announced the FDA’s August 16 decision to designate MDMA as a breakthrough therapy. Along with this designation, the FDA has approved Phase 3 trials to test the effectiveness of the drug in treating PTSD.

According to a press release from MAPS, which has lobbied for the medicinal use of MDMA since 1986, the “breakthrough” status may lead to quicker approval for the substance. MAPS has already conducted smaller Phase 2 trials, and the FDA evidently found the results promising enough to warrant further study.

“In MAPS’ completed Phase 2 trials with 107 participants,” the organization summarized, “61% no longer qualified for PTSD after three sessions of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy two months following treatment. At the 12-month follow-up, 68% no longer had PTSD. All Phase 2 participants had chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD, and had suffered from PTSD for an average of 17.8 years.”

The next phase of trials will commence in spring of 2018.

“The Phase 3 trials will assess the efficacy and safety of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in 200-300 participants with PTSD, aged 18 and older, at sites in the U.S., Canada, and Israel,” MAPS explained.

“Participants will be randomized to receive three day-long sessions of either MDMA or placebo in conjunction with psychotherapy over a 12-week treatment period, along with 12 associated 90-minute non-drug preparatory and integration sessions.”

Phase 3 trials are the last clinical testing period before a drug is allowed to go to market, though additional testing is conducted after the fact. MAPS says that if the Phase 3 testing yields promising results, the drug could be available to the public by 2021.

MAPS, based in Santa Cruz, California, has lobbied on behalf of the therapeutic uses of MDMA since 1986, a year after the DEA deemed it an illegal substance, Science Mag notes. The group has poured millions of dollars into trials to study the drug’s potential and has hope it may be particularly useful for war veterans suffering from PTSD. They have also invested in research to study other problems it could help treat, such as social anxiety. MAPS’ executive director, Rick Doblin, believes the FDA’s approval to move forward in official testing demonstrates MDMA’s possibilities. He says it’s “kind of a public acknowledgment of the promise of this research.”

Similarly, David Nutt, a neuropsychopharmacologist at Imperial College London, said “This is not a big scientific step. It’s been obvious for 40 years that these drugs are medicines. But it’s a huge step in acceptance.“

In a piece exploring the psychological benefits of psychedelics in general, Rolling Stone noted that though some studies have found brain damage in chronic ecstasy users, a Harvard Medical School examination of Mormons who used the substance — and no others — “failed to find cognitive consequences.” The outlet also notes that  “safety studies of the dosages used in MDMA therapy have found no evidence of neurotoxicity or permanent changes in serotonin transporters.”

MAPS notes that MDMA “transiently increases heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature in a dose-dependent manner that is generally not problematic for physically healthy individuals,” also adding that “Serious Adverse Events involving administration of MDMA in MAPS studies have been uncommon and non-life threatening.” Still, side effects do include dehydration — which, in extreme cases can cause death — as well as nausea, sweating, and chills.

Though drug warriors may balk at the idea of a Schedule I substance being used to treat PTSD (cannabis, another Schedule I drug is also proving effective), it is clear that current treatments, especially those the VA administers to veterans, are not solving the problem. Prescription cocktails often worsen symptoms and fail to help users process their trauma. In contrast, when used in a clinical setting with professional guidance, MDMA — which was used in therapeutic settings before it was outlawed — is believed to help those struggling with PTSD delve into the root causes of their suffering.

Indeed, as Popular Science observes, “[t]he FDA only grants breakthrough status when a medication (for a serious disease) is likely to offer significantly better results than currently available treatments.” Unsurprisingly, the agency has approved trials for cannabis in treating veterans with PTSD.

MAPS is working to raise $12.5 million to meet the roughly $25 million total the Phase 3 trials are expected to cost and plans to launch a similar effort with the European Medicines Agency.

Magic Mushrooms Can Literally ‘Reset’ Brains of Depressed People, Study Finds

(ANTIMEDIA) — A groundbreaking new study shows that magic mushrooms may actually be an effective treatment for people with depression. Researchers from Imperial College London found that patients taking psilocybin, the psychoactive compound that occurs naturally in magic mushrooms, showed reduced symptoms weeks after treatment following a “reset” of their brains.

In the clinical trials, patients with treatment-resistant depression received two doses of psilocybin — 10 mg followed by 25 mg, one-week apart — while researchers focused on changes in brain function before and after treatment with the drug. The findings showed that the treatment produced “rapid and sustained antidepressant effects.”

Brain scans show a reset of brain connectivity and blood flow.

Comparisons of images of patients’ brains before and after treatment with psilocybin showed reduced blood flow in areas of the brain responsible for processing emotional responses like stress and fear. Researchers found increased stability in another brain network that has been previously linked to psilocybin’s immediate effects, as well as to depression itself.

The small study of 19 people was led by Head of Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London Dr.

Robin Carhart-Harris, who said:

“We have shown for the first time clear changes in brain activity in depressed people treated with psilocybin after failing to respond to conventional treatments.

“Several of our patients described feeling ‘reset’ after the treatment and often used computer analogies.

For example, one said he felt like his brain had been ‘defragged’ like a computer hard drive, and another said he felt ‘rebooted.’

“Psilocybin may be giving these individuals the temporary ‘kick start’ they need to break out of their depressive states and these imaging results do tentatively support a ‘reset’ analogy. Similar brain effects to these have been seen with electroconvulsive therapy.”

In addition, the trials revealed that patients scoring highest on “peak” or “mystical” experience showed a more significant change. This is consistent with findings from previous studies that have shown that such experiences can lead to long-term changes in the behaviors, attitudes, and values of patients treated with psilocybin.

Al eerder schonk ik op deze plek aandacht aan de cholera uitbraak in Jemen en wees ik op de direct verantwoordelijken: Saoedi-Arabië, de VS en Groot-Brittannië........

Alle berichtgeving die ik hierover heb gehoord op de Nederlandse, Duitse, Britse, Belgische en Franse radio nieuwszenders melden wel de cholera uitbraak, die ze vervolgens wijten aan de 'burgeroorlog...'

Ten eerste is het geen burgeroorlog, maar een door Saoedi-Arabië gestarte oorlog, dit daar dit land de zelf opgestapte voormalig Jemenitische president Al-Hadi (die na zijn aftreden naar S-A vertrok) onder druk heeft gezet zijn ambt weer op te nemen, zodat hij het soennitische S-A te hulp kon roepen in de strijd tegen de sjiitische Houthi rebellen....... (rebellen die uiterst succesvol waren in de strijd tegen Al Qaida en IS, beiden terreurgroepen die door S-A worden gesteund en die van de voormalige president Al-Hadi onderdak kregen in Jemen...)

Intussen kan je in Jemen, niet anders concluderen, dan dat S-A een genocide uitvoert op de sjiitische bevolking. Saoedi-Arabië en de VS hebben het gebied in handen van de Houthi rebellen geblokkeerd voor humanitaire hulp over land en zee......

Men liegt keihard dat Iran wapens heeft gestuurd naar de Houthi rebellen, men heeft daar zelfs schepen voor aangewezen, schepen waarop geen wapen werd gevonden bij de illegale controle's door S-A en de VS.........

Saoedi-Arabië heeft allerlei nutsvoorzieningen gebombardeerd, zoals de watervoorziening, waterzuivering en energiecentrales. Daardoor zijn ook sanitaire voorzieningen niet meer te gebruiken, gevolg: een enorme cholera uitbraak....

Door die blokkades is ook een hongersnood uitgebroken, voorts ontbreekt het aan de benodigde medicijnen en brandstof voor generatoren in ziekenhuizen. Althans als die ziekenhuizen al niet zijn gebombardeerd dor de Saoedische reli-fascisten........

Hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk, dat zelfs de mediaorganen die zich vooruitstrevend durven te noemen, S-A , de VS en GB niet al lang aan de paal hebben genageld........ Groot-Brittannië, dat militaire training geeft aan Saoedische militairen, wapens, wapensystemen, hardware zoals pantservoertuigen en munitie (waaronder clusterbommen) levert aan S-A.......* Hetzelfde doet de VS, al gaat dat 'land' (de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde) nog een fikse stap verder: middels bombardementen, standrechtelijke executies van verdachten met drones (waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht is) en zelfs zo nu en dan met speciale (moord-) commando's op Jemenitische grondgebied terreur uitoefenen........

300.000 was het aantal cholera gevallen, dat het Rode Kruis aan het begin van deze week doorgaf, waar er dagelijks 7.000 aan worden toegevoegd.........

DEA (VS) verklaart cannabis als ongevaarlijk, maar weigert de medicinale kracht van cannabis te erkennen........

Anti-Media bracht afgelopen woensdag het bericht dat de Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in de VS cannabis als ongevaarlijk genotsmiddel heeft gekwalificeerd. Sterker nog het gebruik van cannabis geeft een groot aantal voordelen!!

Zo wordt je gelukkig en vrolijk door het gebruik van cannabis, het zorgt voor socialisering, spraakzaamheid en laat de gebruiker beter genieten van muziek en kunst, aldus de DEA rapportage.

'Uiteraard' wijst de DEA wel op negatieve effecten die kunnen optreden na het gebruik van cannabis, zoals bronchitis en longemfyseem, terwijl daar bij gebruik van cannabis zonder tabak geen bewijzen voor zijn.

De DEA wil verder niet ingaan op de sterk geneeskrachtige werking van cannabis en producten gemaakt van cannabis, dit alleen omdat cannabis op de nummer 1 lijst voor (verboden/gevaarlijke) drugs staat....... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

In het rapport van de DEA 'Drugs of Abuse' staat vreemd genoeg niet de harddrug die verreweg de meeste schade toebrengt en dat op meerdere vlakken, alcohol!!

Het valt nog mee dat de DEA 'zo gunstig rapporteerde' over cannabis, daar de alcoholindustrie via lobby kapitalen steekt in het verboden houden van o.a. cannabis.........

Al met al een mooi artikel van Carey Wedler, ook informatief over andere drugs als MDMA en LSD. Voorts wijst Wedler op de hypocrisie t.a.v. voorschrift medicatie in de rapportage van de DEA, die vooral in de VS voor veel problemen zorgt en een enorm aantal doden veroorzaakt, zoals men het afgelopen jaar een aantal keren heeft gemeld in de reguliere VS media......

The DEA Just Admitted Weed Has Never Killed Anyone and Causes ‘Happiness’

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) The Drug Enforcement Agency just admitted that cannabis has never killed anyone. Ever. They also acknowledged that the little green plant, which has been used across civilizations for thousands of years, causes “merriment” and “happiness.” But they still want to keep it illegal.

The new 94-page report released this week is entitled “Drugs of Abuse” and is intended to foster a better understanding of the dangers of drug consumption. “Education plays a critical role in preventing substance abuse,” the document opens. “Drugs of Abuse, A DEA Resource Guide, is designed to be a reliable resource on the most commonly abused and misused drugs in the United States.”

While the report correctly includes seriously dangerous drugs like heroin, fentanyl, and pharmaceutical opioids, it also includes substances increasingly proven to be far less harmful than the government would like its citizens to believe — “drugs” that actually have medicinal properties. The report fails to acknowledge these benefits throughout its in-depth explanations.

Nevertheless, when it comes to cannabis, the DEA is surprisingly honest, at least in part. Describing the plant for what it is — a “dry, shredded green/brown mix of flowers, stems, seeds, and leaves” — they note that “[n]o deaths from overdose of marijuana have been reported.”

They even acknowledge that cannabis use can cause “[m]erriment, happiness, and even exhilaration at high doses,” as well as “[d]isinhibition, relaxation, increased sociability, and talkativeness.” The illegal, allegedly dangerous substance even causes — gasp — “[e]nhanced sensory perception, giving rise to increased appreciation of music, art, and touch.”

Of course, the report focuses far more on the “dangerous” effects of the plant, including bronchitis, emphysema, paranoia, anxiety, panic attacks, and a litany of other alleged dangers. Despite the fact that research has found marijuana use has few significant effects on lung health — far less than legal tobacco use — and the fact that mounting evidence shows varieties of cannabis like CBD (cannabidiol) can help treat anxiety and other mental health ailments, the DEA displays no such nuance in their explanations, instead appearing to base their assessment of safety on the legality of the drug.

For example, though they claim cannabis can cause nausea, they go on to explain in the very same section that “Marinol, a synthetic version of THC, the active ingredient found in the marijuana plant, can be prescribed for the control of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapeutic agents used in the treatment of cancer and to stimulate appetite in AIDS patients.”

Wait, what?

Indeed, though cannabis is indisputably a form of medicine, whether for nausea, anxiety, Parkinson’s disease, Crohn’s disease, chronic pain, or countless other disorders, the DEA insists that because it is a Schedule I drug, it has no medicinal value.

The same pattern emerges with psychedelic drugs, which the federal government also claims have no medicinal value despite increasing evidence that MDMA can help treat PTSD (the FDA itself has authorized research into the drug’s potential for helping those who suffer with it) and that psychedelic mushrooms and LSD can help treat depression.

None of this is acknowledged in the report. Instead, myths that they are addictive and dangerous abound.

Further, conspicuously absent from “Drugs of Abuse” is one of the most dangerous, addictive, and harmful drugs in the history of mankind: alcohol. According to the government, itself, alcohol is responsible for 88,000 deaths per year in the United States, and 15.1 million Americans suffer from “Alcohol Use Disorder.” But the substance remains legal. Interestingly, the alcohol industry remains one of the largest anti-marijuana legalization lobbies.

The agency’s dogmatic adherence to arbitrary law is the reason why alcohol is excluded from this comprehensive attempt to educate Americans on the dangers of substance abuse. As the report explains in the introduction, “There are also a number of substances that are abused but not regulated under the CSA [Controlled Substance Act]. Alcohol and tobacco, for example, are specifically exempt from control by the CSA,” and are therefore not included in “Drugs of Abuse.”

Other hypocrisies abound. For example, the report lists benzodiazepines like Xanax as potentially addictive drugs, noting that those who use “benzodiazepines to treat anxiety are likely to be physically dependent on that medication.” But according to the CSA, on which they base their entire drug enforcement agenda, drugs like Xanax have “low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence.” This is patently false, as 13.5 million Americans are dependent on drugs like Xanax, overdoses are on the rise, and side effects of quitting the drug include heart palpitations, panic attacks, and seizures in extreme cases. Yet the DEA, which enforces the CSA, admits in its own report that Xanax causes physical dependency.

Ultimately, while the DEA admits cannabis has never caused deaths and can make for a good deal of “merriment” and “exhilaration,” the most telling aspect of the report is the futility of banning drugs in the first place. The exclusion of alcohol from this report — except the countless instances where it acknowledges that the drug can intensify other drug experiences — shows the federal government’s tirades against “drugs” have nothing to do with keeping people safe. Prohibition in the 1920s proved this, and the ongoing failure that is the “War on Drugs” continues to prove it today.

Even abusing the dangers of cannabis, MDMA, and other drugs the DEA lists in its report are accurate, the fact remains that other legal drugs pose just as many, if not more dangers, and individuals should be free to take risks with their own health, just as they are with alcohol and tobacco.

Legal or not, people will find ways to use drugs, and while the authors of “Drugs of Abuse” likely have good intentions, their efforts are futile in their lack of honesty about many of the substances listed and their continued belief that more government and throwing non-violent people in cages will solve the deeply-rooted problem of addiction.
