Trudeau (premier Canada): de VS is verantwoordelijk voor de vliegramp in Iran

De wonderen zijn de wereld nog niet uit en ik ben bepaald geen fan van Trudeau, echter zijn opmerking dat de VS verantwoordelijk is voor het vliegtuigongeluk in Iran, sloeg bij mij bij wijze van spreken in als een bom. Vergeet niet dat er een aantal Canadezen aan boord waren van het ramptoestel, tevens een aantal Iraanse studenten die in Canada studeren.....

Het eerste verstandige woord van een westerse politiek leider over de vreselijke ramp in Iran, althans dat ik ben tegengekomen op de sociale media...... Trudeau heeft volkomen gelijk, als de VS niet de boel had gedestabiliseerd in de regio was deze ramp niet gebeurd...... Vergeet niet dat Iran uren voor het neerhalen van vlucht PS752 twee militaire bases van de VS in Irak had aangevallen, ook al had Iran de Iraakse autoriteiten van te voren op de hoogte gebracht...... Iran kon wel degelijk een tegenaanval verwachten en het is te danken aan het Pentagon dat Trump de opdracht niet heeft gegeven, dat is zeker.... Men was daar dan ook allesbehalve blij met de terreuraanslag op de Iraanse generaal Qassem Soleimani en Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis (de tweede man van de Iraakse Popular Mobilization Forces >> PMF), waarbij beiden om het leven kwamen...... (beide mannen hebben een belangrijke rol gespeeld in de strijd tregen IS, ofwel ISIS)

Overigens wordt er nu gezegd, ook door Trudeau dat het vliegtuig werd neergehaald door raketten die bedoeld waren voor een VS basis in Irak, echter ik betwijfel dat ten zeerste, het lijkt teveel op een nerveuze onderofficier met een uiterst zenuwachtige vinger...... Bovendien worden dit soort raketten van tevoren geprogrammeerd voor het doel dat ze moeten raken, bijzonder ongeloofwaardig dat 2 van die raketten van het pad afwijken en een verkeersvliegtuig aanvallen........

Canada’s PM Trudeau: US to Blame for Ukrainian Plane Accident in Iran

(MEMO) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today that victims of the Ukrainian plane accidentally downed by Iran would still be alive if the US hadn’t triggered tensions in the region.

In an interview with Global television, Trudeau suggested America’s assassination of Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani had brought about the tensions in the region, and the subsequent response from Tehran to target a US military base in Iraq. The Ukrainian flight was accidentally hit by a missile which was intended for the American base.

He said: “I think if there were no tensions, if there was no escalation recently in the region, those Canadians would be right now home with their families.”

“This is something that happens when you have conflict and war. Innocents bear the brunt of it.”

Trudeau also said that the US did not warn Canada in advance that it was planning to assassinate Soleimani on Iraqi soil.

He said: “The US makes its determinations, we attempt to work as an international community on big issues, but sometimes countries take actions without informing their allies.”

He also expressed that he would have “obviously” preferred to have had warning of the US plans to take action against General Soleimani.

This comes after protests were launched in Iran over the downed passenger flight, demanding the resignation of the country’s leadership.

Iraq has also formally told US troops to leave the country, resulting in threats from US President Donald Trump of crushing sanctions.

Tensions in the region have been escalating rapidly since the US’ assassination of top Iranian General Soleimani, resulting in retaliatory missile attacks on US bases in Iraq, despite bellicose warnings on Twitter from Trump that he would target 52 Iranian cultural sites if Tehran retaliated to the assassination – a move which would counter international law – no further action has been taken.

Trump’s claims that Soleimani posed an “imminent threat” to the US’ security are now being questioned as he has provided little to no evidence that this was the case.

Beste bezoeker vanwege een calamiteit in familaire kring, zou dit het laatste bericht van deze dag kunnen zijn (ben nog niet porecies op de hoogte van hoe en wat). Hoop vandaag of morgen meer berichten te kunnen plaasten, mijn excuus.

Het is de Trump administratie alweer en de knotsgekke bol geslagen, de leider van dit geteisem, Trump, heeft Irak gedreigd met sancties die de sancties tegen Iran zullen doen verbleken.... Voorts had hij het gore lef te eisen dat Irak miljarden zal moeten betalen voor een door de VS aangelegde luchtmachtbasis in Irak, dit alles n.a.v. de eis van de Iraakse regering (gesteund door het parlement) dat alle buitenlandse troepen Irak moeten verlaten......

De VS heeft bijna 2 miljoen Irakezen vermoord, of is daar de direct verantwoordelijke voor, daarnaast heeft de VS een groot deel van Irak in puin gelegd, en nu eist Trump geld voor een door haar gebouwde luchtmachtbasis.....

Met andere woorden: de VS accepteert niet dat Irak democratisch een beslissing heeft genomen en dat volkomen terecht nadat de VS een aanval opende op een vliegveld bij Bagdad en daarmee een Iraanse generaal en een belangrijke Iraakse militileider heeft vermoord, waarbij de VS ook nog eens passagiers van verkeersvliegtuigen in gevaar heeft gebracht.......

De VS toont zich ten overvloede nog eens als de verreweg grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, die niet alleen dood en verderf zaait, maar ook denkt de hele wereld te kunnen commanderen......

Overigens heeft de VS met de moord op generaal Soleimani en Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, de tweede man van de Iraakse militiegroepering Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), de twee belangrijkste strijders tegen IS (ISIS) vermoord...... Ofwel ook met deze moord laat de VS nogmaals zien dat het niet vies is van steunverlening aan IS....... IS, een terreurorganisatie waar de VS mede verantwoordelijk is voor de oprichting daarvan en bewezen een aantal wapenleveringen aan die organisatie heeft doen toekomen (inclusief militaire training).... Daarnaast is de VS verantwoordelijk voor het transport van een fiks aantal IS strijders vanuit het door de VS en andere NAVO-partners in elkaar gebombardeerde Libië naar Irak om hen van daaruit over de grens met Syrië te leiden, inclusief wapens, munitie en rollend oorlogstuig, dit om te strijden tegen het democratisch gekozen Assad bewind.....

Ongelofelijk trouwens dat westerse politici, inclusief de hen hielenlikkende reguliere media niet verontwaardigd hebben gereageerd op de woorden van Trump..... In Nederland durfde vanmorgen VVD Tweede Kamerlid Sven Koopmans op BNR (in het nieuws van 8.30 u.) te zeggen dat het Nederlandse fregat dat aan het eind van de maand in de Straat van Hormuz gaat patrouilleren dit doet om de spanningen in het gebied te verminderen, alsof Nederland een VS fragat zal aanvallen als dit over de schreef gaat..... Anders gezegd Nederland gaat daar naartoe om de agressie van de VS te steunen, terwijl die terreurstaat niets te zoeken heeft in het Midden-Oosten..... De enorme VVD leugenaar Koopmans stelde dat het daarom juist nu 'misschien' wel van het grootste belang is dat Nederland daar naartoe gaat met een fregat..... Wel moet Nederland opletten dat het zich niet in een live oorlogssituatie gaat begeven, aldus de VVD fantast..... ha! ha! ha! ha! Allemachtig wat een enorme zak!! Alsof men in de Nederlandse politiek niet begrijpt dat de VS al jaren bezig is met het creëren van een 'legale reden' om een oorlog tegen Iran te beginnen.......

Following a vote by the Iraqi parliament to remove foreign troops from the nation, the US president threatened to destroy Iraq's economy in retaliation and to refuse to leave unless an expensive military base worth billions of dollars was paid for.

“If they do ask us to leave, if we don’t do it in a very friendly basis,” Trump told the press on Sunday.

“We will charge them sanctions like they’ve never seen before ever. It’ll make Iranian sanctions look somewhat tame. If there’s any hostility, that they do anything we think is inappropriate, we are going to put sanctions on Iraq, very big sanctions on Iraq.”

“We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there. It cost billions of dollars to build. Long before my time,” Trump also said. “We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it.”

This would be the same President Trump whose starvation sanctions are already known to have killed tens of thousands of people in Venezuela, and probably much more by now.

And this would be the same US empire that used the narrative of bringing democracy to Iraq in order to help manufacture public support for "Operation Iraqi Freedom" (which Bush's Press Secretary Ari Fleischer kept hilariously calling "Operation Iraqi Liberation" [OIL] by mistake). The same US empire that has used the "liberation" of Iraq from the tyranny of Saddam Hussein and the institution of democracy in the Middle East to justify its evil and unforgivable invasion ever since.

Yet the instant Iraqi democratic institutions become even slightly inconvenient for the US empire, Iraqi Democracy gets flushed down the toilet. Iraq's elected parliament voted very clearly for the removal of America's military presence in the interests of its own sovereignty, and Trump has stated, in his typical accidentally-honest way, that America will not honor that vote.

This is, of course, because the invasion of Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with democracy. The invasion of Iraq was about controlling a crucial geostrategic region which refused to bow to the dictates of the US-centralized empire. This is important to remember, because that is also exactly what the regime change agendas against Iran and Syria are about.

It is not a mysterious coincidence that all these horrible dictatorships that urgently need a forceful injection of freedom and democracy just so happen to reside right next to each other. The fight for control over the Middle East has always been about controlling important fossil fuel resources and trade routes, and thereby controlling the world. If the empire can't gain control of the nations in the region via absorption into the imperial blob (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, etc) or just constructing a satellite from scratch on top of a previously existing nation (Israel), then the empire will work to gain control by attempting to replace any noncompliant governments with compliant ones (Iraq, Syria, Iran).

And, as we now know, the second a compliant government begins to act noncompliant, it will immediately begin receiving the same treatment that noncompliant governments receive.

As things heat up with Iran you will begin hearing more and more babbling gibberish about the poor, poor Iranians and how unfortunate they are to live in a nation where the women can't feel their hair in the wind and LGBT people need to hide who they are. But as a leaked State Department memo revealed in 2017, the empire is never actually concerned with human rights, and it is never actually concerned with democracy. The sole concern of the empire is power, and the growth of that power. That's all this has ever been about.
Iraq seems to be destined to be the nation that keeps teaching us important lessons, so the very least we can do in response is make sure that we learn those lessons, and remember them.

Scott Ritter, voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur: Iran verdient de eer voor het verslaan van ISIS

In het hieronder opgenomen artikel, geschreven door voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur Scott Ritter en eerder gepubliceerd op The American Conservative, stelt hij dat niet de VS, maar vooral Iran de eer toekomt van het verslaan van IS in zowel Irak als Syrië.....

Ritter verhaalt over het ontstaan van IS en alle daarbij behorende gore spelletjes van de VS, waarbij hij de VS in feite beschuldigt van het beschermen van en samenwerken met IS, al was het alleen om Assad af te kunnen zetten en nu als stok tegen Iran te gebruiken........ Intussen heeft IS al een paar aanslagen gepleegd in Iran (met de hulp van de CIA). Over de CIA gesproken: de VS heeft toegegeven dat het al jaren bezig is om de oppositie in Iran te steunen en op te zetten tegen de regering....... Zo zijn ook de zogenaamde opstanden die de laatste jaren in Iran plaatsvonden (uiterst gewelddadige 'opstanden'), georganiseerd door de CIA.....

Scott Ritter was VN-wapeninspecteur voorafgaand aan de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003. Keer op keer liet hij de VN, de reguliere (massa-) media en politici weten dat Irak niet langer de beschikking had over 'massavernietigingswapens en dat dit uit en te na was onderzocht door hem en z'n team, waarbij Ritter uiteindelijk zijn gelijk haalde..... Lullig genoeg haalde hij z'n gelijk, pas lang nadat de VS Irak aanviel....* Deze illegale oorlog van de VS betekende de dood van meer dan nu al 1,5 miljoen mensen (in feite is de oorlog in Irak nog steeds gaande....)..... Ach ja, de VS: de grootste terreurentiteit op onze kleine aarde.......

But is the U.S. now allowing its last remnants to survive in Syria to spite Tehran?

Until recently the United States viewed the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, as a major threat to regional stability in the Middle East. Barack Obama made it a mission to roll back ISIS’s territorial and propagandistic gain, and Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to “kick ISIS’s ass.” The United States expended considerable effort, both military and political, in a campaign to defeat the terror group in Iraq and, to a lesser extent, in Syria.

But there is also no doubt that the bulk of the effort came from Iran, not the United States. Without Iranian involvement, ISIS would still have a formidable presence in both Iraq and Syria.  

ISIS was born out of the ashes of the American invasion of Iraq. Their rise was the logical extension of a process that saw the fabric of secular Sunni society torn asunder by an American occupier unwilling to further empower a Sunni ruling elite that had been loyal to Saddam Hussein. Washington failed to understand the resentment engendered within the Sunni community when Iraq’s Shia, some of whom were beholden to Iran, came to power.

Traditional Sunni tribal power structures were eviscerated as a result, only to be replaced with radicalized Sunni youths beholden to only themselves. Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) was al-Qaeda in name only—its mission wasn’t to export jihad to the West, but to free Iraq from the grips of an American and Iranian occupation.  

America’s campaign against AQI never resulted in that movement’s destruction. Instead, the United States, in an effort to free itself of the burden of war created when it invaded Iraq in the first place, withdrew from Iraq in 2012, leaving the final phase of AQI’s destruction in the hands of the Iraqi government. This period coincided with the start of the civil unrest in Syria and the creation of a radicalized Islamist opposition to Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad. The willingness to cede large swaths of Syrian territory to Islamist forces as a means of destabilizing Assad created the conditions for the birth of ISIS in the deserts of both central Syria and western Iraq.

When ISIS advanced on the Iraqi cities of Ramadi and Fallujah, the American-trained and -equipped Iraqi army was unable to halt its advance. Soon the major city of Mosul fell to ISIS, and its forces pushed down the Tigris River valley to the outskirts of Baghdad.

The story of Iraq’s struggle to form a viable resistance to ISIS in the aftermath of the fall of Mosul is little known, and even less appreciated, by the United States. The formation of so-called “Popular Mobilization Forces,” or PMF—organized at the behest of Iraq’s senior Shia leadership, and trained, equipped, and led by Iran—was the single most important factor behind the halting of ISIS’s drive on Baghdad and its eventual eviction from Iraqi territory.

Western media have paid a disproportionate amount of attention to the actions of a select few American-trained Iraqi security forces, which, with ample support from U.S. airpower and advisors, helped end fighting in and around Mosul. All the while, they’ve ignored that the lion’s share of the fighting was done by the Iranian-directed PMF. This fact was not lost on the Iraqi people, many of whom (though not many of the Sunnis) hold the PMF in the highest regard. This sentiment has propelled many of the senior leadership of the PMF into political prominence in Baghdad.

For Iran, the ISIS phenomenon is not limited to Iraq. It is seen as part and parcel of a concerted effort undertaken by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab nations to overthrow Assad in Syria, diminish the power and influence of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and roll back Iranian influence in both Syria and Iraq. ISIS’s geographic presence in Syria, concentrated as it was in the central and northeastern deserts, made it a secondary target compared to the al-Qaeda affiliates operating in and around Aleppo and Damascus.

As the Syrian government, with the assistance of Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, gained the upper hand in the fight against the American- and Saudi-backed al-Qaeda groups, however, the importance of ISIS as a source of anti-regime resistance grew. While ISIS never had the power to challenge Damascus directly, the efforts undertaken by the Syrian coalition to defeat ISIS diverted resources needed in the larger fight. As such, the continued existence of a viable ISIS presence on Syrian soil was deemed an acceptable outcome by the United States as it sought to contain Iran’s presence on Syrian soil.

ISIS in Syria lingers on, despite the fact that U.S. military power could ensure its almost immediate elimination. The reason for the stay of execution is not entirely clear, but it could well be that the U.S. sees ISIS as a useful foil against Iran. Efforts by the United States to roll back Iran’s presence inside Syria have recently become more volatile in the wake of fiery rhetoric from senior Trump administration officials and actions undertaken by Iran to harden their positions. The American policy of Iranian rollback includes the re-imposition of economic sanctions and support for opposition groups opposed to the Iranian theocracy.  

The latter point is very sensitive. This sensitivity has only been heightened by remarks from Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman suggesting that any struggle for influence between Riyadh and Tehran ought to take place “inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia,” and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s encouraging Iranian Arab minorities to rise up in opposition to the Iranian government.

When gunmen linked to ISIS attacked a military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, killing and wounding dozens, the Iranian government was quick to blame the United States and Saudi Arabia, among others, and promise retaliation in kind. This prompted National Security Advisor John Bolton to declare to Iran that “there will indeed be hell to pay” if Iran or its proxies attacked the U.S. or its allies.

A few days later, Iranian rockets were launched, not against American targets in Basra, but locations in Syria linked to ISIS. While the Iranian strike was in clear retaliation for the Ahvaz attack, the rockets were emblazoned with slogans hostile to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. This made it clear that the strike was meant for a broader audience. Among those who took notice were the American forces located a mere three miles away from the targets struck by the Iranians.  

Rising tensions and strong rhetoric, if not carefully managed, could easily lead to an unintended—and dangerous—escalation of hostilities. This could test President Donald Trump’s uncertain appetite for direct conflict. Moreover, the American effort to stir up an Iranian opposition could do more to unite competing power factions within Iran’s leadership, and unite Iranians behind that leadership, than to divide and weaken the Iranian polity. The Trump administration seems to operate under the delusion that Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and  Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, are operating in different spheres with somewhat disparate interests. U.S. efforts to drive a wedge between Rouhani and Khamenei will not only  prove fruitless, but backfire, closing the door to any potential negotiations and cementing a hardline response that will have Rouhani, the IRGC, and the supreme leader united in their opposition.

The United States is engaged in a dangerous double game with ISIS that is not only hypocritical in the extreme—given the 9/11 attacks on American soil that precipitated this whole sorry affair—but counterproductive to American national security interests. It has both empowered and legitimized the very Iranian theocracy it seeks to contain.

Rather than relying on ISIS as a foil to blunt Iranian influence in Syria and terrorize its citizenry at home, the Trump administration should recognize the positive role that Iran has played in defeating ISIS. It should build upon that recognition to craft a wider regional peace process that both recognizes the realities inherent in Syria today and reduces the tensions that prompt Iran to lean forward in such an aggressive manner. Unfortunately, such thinking seems beyond the capabilities of Mike Pompeo and John Bolton. As such, America will continue to pursue poorly thought out policies with no chance of success without any thought to either cost or consequence.

Vergeet niet dat ook wij Nederlanders via de belasting fiks hebben meebetaald aan deze oorlog, daar Nederland niet alleen in aanloop van deze illegale oorlog met een onderzeeboot inlichtingen verzamelde voor de VS, maar vervolgens gaf Nederland naast politieke steun, ook militaire steun aan deze oorlog, ofwel militairen op de grond..... Ook Nederlandse F16's hebben lang steun verleend aan deze vuile oorlog, wat zeg ik: Nederland verleent nog steeds steun aan die oorlog met F16's en met het trainen van het Iraakse leger......
