Weer eens een gevalletje stapelgekke regels in een aantal VS staten: werkgevers kunnen daar van je eisen dat je niet zal deelnemen aan boycotacties tegen terreurstaat Israël, noch bewegingen te steunen die zich verzetten tegen de staatsterreur van Israël......

Een VS-Palestijnse vrouw, Bahia Amawi is al bijna 10 jaar werkzaam als logopedist voor een 'onafhankelijk schooldistrict' in Texas. Bij de verlenging van haar contract moest ze de bewuste eed ondertekenen, wat ze volkomen logisch weigerde, niet alleen omdat dit een volkomen zotte regel is die tegen elk ethisch besef ingaat, maar ook daar ze familie heeft die in de door Israël illegaal bezette gebieden wonen en dus dagelijks op de één of andere manier met Israëlische terreur te maken krijgen, al was het op de West bank 'alleen maar' bij het grote aantal wegblokkades, die het leven van de Palestijnen extra bemoeilijkt..........

Dan te bedenken dat men de VS een rechtstaat durft te noemen...... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! (en dan spreek ik niet eens over het aan de beurs genoteerde particuliere gevangenissysteem in de VS dat doorlopend nieuwe gevangenen wil hebben en waar de gekleurde bevolking volkomen onevenredig veel vaker gevangen zit dan de nu nog grote meerderheid van witte burgers......) De VS, het land ook waar plea bargain wordt gebruikt, zodat je beter kan bekennen ook al heb je de misdaad niet begaan, daar de straf anders veel hoger uit kan vallen >> een dergelijke behandeling is ronduit misdadig...... Aan dat land levert ook Nederland desnoods de eigen burgers uit........ (ook dat laatste is wat mij betreft een misdaad van formaat!)

Texas Educator Files Lawsuit After She Was Fired for Refusing to Sign an Oath to Israel

(MPN) — A Texas speech pathologist has filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas after she was reportedly fired for refusing to sign an oath that she would not boycott the apartheid state of Israel.

A U.S. citizen born in Austria and of Palestinian descent, Bahia Amawi is a speech specialist in western Texas who works with autistic and developmentally disabled people. The educator charges that the district refused to renew her contract in August after she declined to sign paperwork pledging that she “does not” and “will not” participate in any kind of boycott or “otherwise tak[e] any action that is intended to inflict economic harm” against the Israeli state.

Speaking to Democracy Now!, Amawi explained her firsthand struggle with oppression and the reasoning behind her refusal to sign the oath:

“I sent an email immediately, and I stopped even reading the additional codes [referring to the additional paperwork she was asked to sign in regards to Israel].  And I sent the email to my speech coordinator telling her, ‘Listen, I cannot sign this. This is against my principles, against my constitutional rights. And it’s also against my moral and ethical values, considering that I am a Palestinian American and I have family that actually live in the Occupied Territories, so it affects me personally, as well.’ So, it affects me in both ways — as an American citizen and as a Palestinian American, too.”

A lawsuit was filed in federal court on Amawi’s behalf this week alleging that the district’s refusal to renew her contract is a direct violation of her First Amendment rights as a U.S. citizen. Amawi, who worked for the Pflugerville Independent School District as a contractor for nearly 10 years, says her renewal contract contained a special document in August asking her to take an oath that she would not boycott or inflict economic harm against Israel in any fashion.

This may constitute the first direct challenge to new legislation aimed at curbing support for the growing Boycott Divest Sanctions (BDS) movement in the United States, which ultimately aims to end apartheid in Palestinian and Israeli territories.

A wave of anti-BDS laws

Texas became the 20th state of what are now 26 to pass anti-BDS legislation that infringes upon free speech by banning U.S. citizens from participating in boycotts against the Israeli apartheid state in various ways, such as refusing to renew a teacher’s contract. Thirteen additional states have similar legislation pending.

Muslim group challenging Texas' 'No Boycott of Israel' law

The language in the oath Amawi was asked to sign would prohibit her from refusing to purchase goods from both Israel and the occupied West Bank. Furthermore, it could even ban her from expressing support for boycotts against Israel, if her speech or actions are construed to inflict financial harm on the apartheid state. Amawi explained:

“The point of boycotting any product that supports Israel is to put pressure on the Israeli government to change its treatment, the inhumane treatment, of the Palestinian people. Having grown up as a Palestinian, I know firsthand the oppression and the struggle that Palestinians face on a daily basis.”

Amawi refused to sign the oath because her family does not purchase goods made in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank nor in the occupying entity of Israel itself. Amawi was the only Arabic-speaking speech specialist of her kind in the district, which boasts a growing Arab population.

Israel continues to construct illegal settlements in the West Bank and Palestinian territory despite international legislation barring it from doing so. According to the Fourth Geneva Convention, it is illegal for an occupying entity to transfer its people into the occupied territory.

Furthermore, Israel has recently carried out a brutal repression against unarmed protesters in the Gaza Strip, protests that have taken place every Friday since March after U.S. President Donald Trump announced Washington would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.

Since the protests began, 204 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces and more than 18,000 have sustained injuries.

Dubbed the Great Return March, Palestinians seek to return to their homeland in accordance with UN Resolution 194, which states that refugees have the right to return to their homes at the earliest practical date.

Regelmatig hoor je vooral in het buitenland dat rechters verkrachters beschermen en hen weg laten komen met belachelijk lage straffen, of zelfs zonder straf..... De Franse 'rechtspraak' is op dit gebied een 'mooi voorbeeld......' (dit verandert overigens als de dader moslim is en het tegengestelde als de dader uit een 'beter gesitueerd' gezin stamt...)

Echter ook in de VS kan men er wat van, neem het geval Kavanaugh.

5 Judges Whose Sexual Assault Rulings Land Them in The Hall Of Shame

There are a lot of decent, fair judges out there, but there are a lot of terrible ones too, especially when it comes to sexual assault cases. Far too often, judges are making headlines for giving rapists shockingly lenient sentences or blaming victims for their own assaults. Around the world, judges are letting rapists off the hook and treating victims with horrible disrespect.

A Mexican judge cleared a man of rape because he didn’t orgasm during the assault. In Italy, a judge acquitted a man of sexual assault because the victim didn’t “betray emotion” during the assault. In several cases, judges have dismissed cases because they believed the young victims looked or acted older than they were or that their bodies were “well-developed.”

There were a lot of contenders for worst judges on sexual assault cases, but these are five whose actions should land them in the Hall of Shame.

1. JUDGE RALPH STROTHER

Just last week, Texas Judge Ralph Strother allowed accused rapist and 23-year-old former frat boy Jacob Walter Anderson to plead no contest to the lesser charge of unlawful restraint.

Anderson was accused of repeatedly raping his then 19-year-old victim his fraternity threw in 2016. He then left her outside, unconscious, face-down in her own vomit. Despite this, Anderson was offered a plea deal which judge Strother then accepted, ignoring pleas from the victim.

Strother has been lenient toward rapists in at least two other cases. Earlier this year, Strother sentenced a rapist to 30 days of jail but said he could leave on the weekends. Another time, he allowed a rapist to avoid jail time altogether, if he payed for his victim’s counseling.

A Care2 petition is calling for Strother’s resignation.

2. JUDGE PAUL MEYERS

A Canadian teenager sexually assaulted a girl in a bathroom stall, injuring her so severely she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The perpetrator was also convicted of sexually assaulting another girl just a few months earlier. Judge Paul Meyers sentenced him to two weeks behind bars, saying that the teen already faced “social ramifications” and will not be able to graduate with his peers.

A Care2 petition is demanding Meyers’ resignation.

3. JUDGE AARON PERSKY

Who could forget Judge Aaron Persky, who let convicted rapist Brock Turner serve only three months in jail? 
A jury found Turner guilty of three felony sexual assault charges, and as a result the prosecution recommended a sentence of six years in prison, stating Turner posed a “continued threat to the community.” Instead, Judge Persky sentenced him to only six months in county jail because “a prison sentence would have a severe impact on him.” Perksy has since been removed from the bench following a recall vote.

4. JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH

In this case, the Hall of Shame nominee is both the judge and the predator.

As Kavanaugh was nominated for the Supreme Court, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct. Ford claimed Kavanaugh assaulted her when they were teenagers. Following this news, several other women came forward with allegations against Kavanaugh. Despite decent people (and many others) all agreeing that Ford was credible, Kavanaugh was still confirmed as a Supreme Court justice.

5. JUDGE ROBIN CAMP

Last year Canadian judge Robin Camp submitted his resignation because of a 2014 case in which he asked a 19-year-old rape victim, “Why couldn’t you just keep your knees together?” He also later told her “sex and pain sometimes go together.” When the victim told the court that the assault occurred in a bathroom sink, the judge asked her why she hadn’t put her “bottom down into the basin so he couldn’t penetrate you.”

VS trekt troepen terug uit Syrië zodat Turkije een massale aanval kan lanceren op de Koerden......

Het beest Trump heeft in een Twitterbericht aangekondigd dat IS (ISIS) in Syrië is verslagen (ha! ha!) en wil daarom de aanwezige troepen (officieel meer dan 2.000 militairen) onmiddellijk terugroepen uit Syrië, dit i.t.t. eerdere beloften dat de VS voorlopig op Syrische bodem zou blijven.....

Het is dan ook meer dan duidelijk waarom Trump plotseling met deze mededeling komt: Turkije is al een paar weken bezig een enorme inval op Syrisch-Koerdisch gebied voor te bereiden, daarmee zouden de VS troepen in de vuurlinie komen van NAVO-bondgenoot Turkije......

Kortom weer laat de VS de Koerden barsten, zoals de VS dit ook heeft gedaan na de Golfoorlog van 1990 - 1991.

Al moet ik zeggen dat het een hele geruststelling is dat de VS zich terugtrekt uit Syrië (althans als dat echt gebeurt), immers de VS zaait overal waar het komt dood en verderf en heeft met haar acties in Syrië een groot deel van het land in puin gelegd, dit gebeurde door: het organiseren van de opstand die tot het afzetten van Assad had moeten leiden en het directe gevolg daarvan, de oorlog in Syrië...... (waarmee de VS ook hoofdverantwoordelijke is voor die oorlog....)

Deze oorlog, begonnen door 'gematigde rebellen' (lees: psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) die voor een groot deel door de VS en Saoedi-Arabië richting Syrië werden vervoerd, inclusief wapens en zelfs training....... Veel van deze terroristen kwamen uit Libië, waar ze de VS (onder bewind van Obama en zijn minister van BuZa, Hillary Clinton) en haar oorlogshond de NAVO assisteerden bij het volledig naar de kloten helpen van dit eens rijkste en welvarendste land van Afrika...... 

Libië een land waar voor het volk het leven bijna gratis was: gratis scholing (en latere studie die zelfs in het buitenland werd betaald, inclusief huisvesting, collegegeld en leefgeld, voor jongens en meisjes), gratis gezondheidszorg, zo goed als gratis energie en idem huisvesting. Libië, nu in puin gebombardeerd en gedompeld in chaos, waar zelfs openbare slavenmarkten worden gehouden, met 'dank' aan de VS en haar NAVO-partners......

Onder deze terreurgroepen die voor een deel werden samengesteld door de VS bevonden zich ook leden van IS, ook deze terreurgroep die volgens Trump nu verslagen is, kreeg meermaals wapens en ander militair oorlogstuig van de VS.......

Terug dus bij het begin, het verslaan van IS zoals Trump dat aankondigde: IS is in het geheel niet verslagen en is zelfs onder VS bescherming aanwezig in door VS illegaal gecontroleerd Syrisch gebied.......

De Koerden kunnen hun borst natmaken, het is te hopen dat Assad en de Russen hen te hulp zullen schieten, echter de kans daarop is erg klein, gezien de banden tussen Rusland en de reli-fascistsche Erdogan dictatuur in Turkije......

Als e.e.a. wel doorgaat is dit alvast een verlichting voor Iran, daar de VS niet alleen vanwege Assad in Syrië oorlog voerde, maar ook om een springplank te hebben naar Iran, een land dat al jaren op de VS verlanglijst voor een illegale oorlog staat.

Minutes after the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) first broke the story, The Washington Post confirmed the following through a defense official:

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a decision that has not yet been announced, said the decision would include the entire force of more than 2,000 U.S. service members. It was made on Tuesday, the official said.

President Trump has long promised to conclude the campaign against the Islamic State and has questioned the value of costly and dangerous military missions overseas.

The WSJ just reported a monumental and historic reversal in White House policy on Syria, revealing Wednesday morning the Pentagon is preparing to withdraw all forces from northeastern Syria “immediately”:

In an abrupt reversal, the U.S. military is preparing to withdraw its forces from northeastern Syria, people familiar with the matter said Wednesday, a move that throws the American strategy in the Middle East into turmoil.

U.S. officials began informing partners in northeastern Syria of their plans to begin immediately pulling American forces out of the region where they have been trying to wrap up the campaign against Islamic State, the people said.

The WSJ notes the complete 180 reversal in policy, which just days ago was reiterated by officials as an “indefinite” American presence in Syria in order to “counter Iran” while bolstering Kurdish and Arab SDF forces in the East (the YPG-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces), comes following a phone call last week between President Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

For the past week Erdogan has threatened to launch a full-scale cross border assault on US-backed Kurdish forces in Syria, which Turkey has long considered an terrorist extension of the outlawed PKK. This would potentially bring American troops and advisers under fire, who’ve found themselves in the awkward position since entering Syria of training Syrian Kurdish militias on the one hand, and coordinating broadly with a NATO ally on the other.

Perhaps Trump finally took full stock of the fact that the prior planned “indefinite” presence of some 4000 American troops was recipe for a quagmire sure to be Washington’s next Afghan or Iraq style “endless war”?

As one recent intelligence study put it: “The prospect of US being militarily involved in Syria, caught in middle of one of most complex conflicts in recent memory, with shifting objectives & ambiguous endgame, has been met with congressional indifference and public apathy.” 

Will America finally exit Syria? Is Trump belatedly making good on some of his campaign promises?
