Censuur op het internet met vliegende start in de VS, 'het land van het vrije woord....'

Nadat Apple, YouTube, Facebook en Spotify vorige week maandag de accounts van Alex Jones (Infowars) blokkeerden, was het vorige week dinsdag de beurt aan Scott Horton van de Scott Horton Show, voormalig medewerker van het VS ministerie van buitenlandse zaken en klokkenluider Peter van Buren, tevens hoofdredacteur van ANTIWAR en uit de top van het Ron Paul Institute, Daniel McAdams, al werden zij door Twitter geblokkeerd..... Vreemd genoeg werd Jones niet geblokkeerd door Twitter.

Het is duidelijk: de reguliere media en het grootste deel van de politiek, plus het militair-industrieel complex hebben het voor elkaar, de eerste gecoördineerde censuur maatregelen zijn een feit...... Alle kritiek die wordt geleverd op de leugens van politici en de reguliere media wordt onder het mom van haatzaaien, beledigen en het brengen van 'fake news' van het net geweerd....... Alex Jones is een geval apart, hij helpt o.a. mensen op te zetten tegen families die hun kind zijn verloren bij de Sandy Hook moorden (een schutter die op deze school tekeerging.....). Ofwel Jones is een schoft van hoog kaliber........

Door figuren als Jones als model weer te geven, zal men zoals nu al te zien is, de serieuze sites van het net weren, sites die terecht leugens en verdraaiingen van overheid, reguliere media, bedrijven enz. aan de kaak stellen.....

Overigens heeft Google mijn Google+ account enige tijd geleden ook geblokkeerd, al werd daar als reden 'expliciet seksuele inhoud' opgegeven........ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Waar halen ze 't vandaan?? Als ik me niet vergis is mijn Google+ account intussen wel weer te zien.

Het lullige van al is wel, dat ondanks 'de openbaarheid' van 'platforms' als Facebook, Google(+), Apple, YouTube en Twitter, je geen verhaal kan halen na blokkering, dat wordt zelfs openlijk gesteld, men heeft bij deze 'platforms' geen zin om in discussie te gaan....... Ofwel deze censuur is compleet!!

One day after what appeared to be a coordinated attack by media giants Facebook, Apple, Spotify and Google* on Alex Jones, whose various social media accounts were banned or suspended in a matter of hours, the crackdown against alternative media figures continued as several Libertarian figures, including the Ron Paul Institute director, found their Twitter accounts suspended.

On Monday, Twitter suspended the editorial director of antiwar.com Scott Horton, former State Department employee Peter Van Buren, and Dan McAdams, the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute.

Horton was reportedly disciplined for the use of "improper language" against journalist Jonathan M. Katz, he said in a brief statement, while McAdams was suspended for retweeting him, he said. Past tweets in both accounts were available to the public at the time of the writing, unlike the account of Van Buren, which was fully suspended.

According to TargetLiberty, Horton and McAdams fell victim of Twitter’s suspension algorithm after objecting to Katz’s quarrel with Van Buren over an earlier interview.

The suspensions come days after Twitter suspended black conservative Candace Owen from Twitter for highlighting the algorithmic hypocrisy of Twitter by replacing the word “white” with “Jewish” in a series of tweets modeled on those by New York Times editor Sarah Jeong.

Just after controversial conservative Alex Jones, and his podcast InfoWars, were kicked out from most social media platforms, prompting conservative to accuse the social networks of collusion in a collective crackdown on non-mainstream voices. The Silicon Valley giants were criticized by the US political establishment for failing to prevent alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Meanwhile, critics now say the pressured media giants are engaging in political censorship, using their market dominance and lack of legislated neutrality requirements to target descent voices ahead of the midterm elections.

In a scathing op-ed on Tuesday, Nigel Farage wrote that "while many on the libertarian right and within the conservative movement have their issues with Alex Jones and InfoWars, this week’s announcement by YouTube, Facebook, Apple, and Spotify represents a concerted effort of proscription and censorship that could just as soon see any of us confined to the dustbin of social media history."

These platforms that claim to be “open” and in favor of “free speech” are now routinely targeting -- whether by human intervention or not -- the views and expressions of conservatives and anti-globalists.

This is why they no longer even fit the bill of “platforms.” They are publishers in the same way we regard news outlets as publishers. They may use more machine learning and automation, but their systems clearly take editorial positions. We need to hold them to account in the same way we do any other publisher.

Farage then accused social media giants of being corporatist:

That they cannot profess to be neutral, open platforms while being illiberal, dictatorial, and hiding behind the visage of a private corporation (which are more often than not in bed with governments around the world at the very highest levels).

This isn’t capitalism. It’s corporatism.

He concludes that the real interference in "US democracy" comes not from Russia, but from some of its most powerful corporations which now yield more power in some cases than the government itself: "This isn’t “liberal democracy” as they keep pretending. It’s autocracy."

Vier spelende Palestijnse jongens werden doelbewust vermoord middels een Israëlische drone

Een geheim Israëlisch rapport toont aan dat de vier Palestijnse jongens, in de leeftijd van 10 en 11 jaar, spelend op het strand van Gaza (op 16 juli 2014), door het Israël werden vermoord met gebruikmaking van een drone, zou schrijft Robert Mackey in een artikel op The Intercept........

Uitvoerig wordt ingegaan hoe e.e.a. heeft kunnen gebeuren en de reden waarom Israël e.e.a. geheim wilde houden >> niet alleen vanwege de wereldwijde verontwaardiging (al was die buiten het westen een stuk groter..), maar ook om de verkoop van Israëlische drones naar het buitenland veilig te stellen. Zo stond er een contract met Duitsland op het spel, een contract voor 'het leasen' van drones voor maar 'liefst' 600 miljoen euro.....

In het artikel gaat Mackey in op de stelling van Israël dat er een vergissing werd gemaakt bij het beoordelen van de beelden waarop de beslissing werd genomen die tot de dood van de vier jongens leidde. Echter gezien eerdere gebeurtenissen en de gebeurtenissen sinds maart dit jaar, waarbij vreedzame (nog steeds voortdurende) demonstraties onder de naam 'The Great Return March', doelbewust onder vuur werden genomen, kan je echt niet spreken van 'vergissingen........' Onder vuur genomen door psychopathische Israëlische scherpschutters (met een uitstekend werkend vizier op hun wapen), die een groot aantal ongewapende mensen hebben vermoord, Palestijnse mensen waaronder duidelijk herkenbare kinderen en medische hulpverleners.........

'Je zou bijna gaan denken' dat Israël dit geheime rapport expres heeft gelekt om aan te tonen dat men wel degelijk menselijke trekken heeft en men moeite heeft met dit soort 'vergissingen', terwijl de dagelijkse werkelijkheid laat zien dat Israël er totaal geen moeite mee heeft om kinderen, vrouwen, gehandicapten en zelfs mensen met het Downsyndroom* (nogmaals: doelbewust) gevangen te nemen, gruwelijk te martelen, dan wel standrechtelijk te vermoorden.....

Secret Israeli Report Reveals Armed Drone Killed Four Boys Playing on Gaza Beach in 2014

A CONFIDENTIAL REPORT by Israeli military police investigators seen by The Intercept explains how a tragic series of mistakes by air force, naval, and intelligence officers led to an airstrike in which four Palestinian boys playing on a beach in Gaza in 2014 were killed by missiles launched from an armed drone.

Testimony from the officers involved in the attack, which has been concealed from the public until now, confirms for the first time that the children — four cousins ages 10 and 11 — were pursued and killed by drone operators who somehow mistook them, in broad daylight, for Hamas militants.

The testimony raises new questions about whether the attack, which unfolded in front of dozens of journalists and triggered global outrage, was carried out with reckless disregard for civilian life and without proper authorization. After killing the first boy, the drone operators told investigators, they had sought clarification from their superiors as to how far along the beach, used by civilians, they could pursue the fleeing survivors. Less than a minute later, as the boys ran for their lives, the drone operators decided to launch a second missile, killing three more children, despite never getting an answer to their question.

Suhad Bishara, a lawyer representing the families of the victims, told

The Intercept that Israel’s use of armed drones to kill Palestinians poses “many questions concerning human judgment, ethics, and compliance with international humanitarian law.”

Remotely piloted bombers “alter the process of human decision-making,” Bishara said, and the use of the technology in the 2014 beach attack “expands the circle of people responsible for the actual killing of the Bakr children.”

Just hours before the attack, on the morning of July 16, 2014, the public relations unit of the Israel Defense Forces had been promoting the idea that the live video feeds provided by drones enabled its air force to avoid killing Palestinian civilians.

The PR unit released operational footage, apparently taken from the screens of Israeli drone operators, which documented how three Israeli airstrikes had been called off that week because figures, identified as civilians, had appeared close to targets in the densely populated Gaza Strip.

Those images were released one week into Israel’s Operation Protective Edge, a 50-day offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza in which Israel would eventually kill 1,391 civilians, including 526 children.

Later that same day, at about 3:30 p.m., an Israeli Hermes 450 surveillance drone hovering over a beach in Gaza City transmitted images of eight figures clambering from the strand onto a jetty.

A small shipping container on the jetty had been destroyed by an Israeli missile the day before, based on intelligence indicating that it might have been used by Hamas naval commandos to store weapons. Some analysts have questioned that intelligence, however, since there were no secondary explosions after the structure was hit and journalists staying in nearby hotels reported that no militants had been seen around the jetty that week.

The Israeli military police report reviewed by The Intercept documents what happened next. After one of the figures on the jetty entered the container that had been destroyed the previous day, an Israeli air force commander at the Palmachim air base, south of Tel Aviv, ordered the operators of a second drone, which was armed, to fire a missile at the container.

AS MY COLLEAGUES Cora Currier and Henrik Moltke reported in 2016, although the Israeli government maintains an official stance of secrecy around its use of drones to carry out airstrikes, hacked Israeli surveillance images provided to The Intercept by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden showed an Israeli drone armed with missiles in 2010.

Speaking privately to a visiting American diplomat after Israel’s 2009 offensive in Gaza, Avichai Mandelblit, who was the country’s chief military prosecutor at the time and now serves as its attorney general, acknowledged that two missiles that injured civilians in a mosque had been fired from an unmanned aerial vehicle, according to a leaked State Department cable.

One reason that Israel might decline to acknowledge that its drones have been used to kill Palestinian children is that such information could complicate sales of its drones to foreign governments. In June, the state-owned company Israel Aerospace Industries signed a $600 million deal to lease Heron drones to Germany’s defense ministry. That deal was initially delayed by concerns from German politicians that the drones, to be used for surveillance, could also be armed. The same state-owned company has also sold drones to Turkey, a strongly pro-Palestinian nation, which has nonetheless used the Israeli technology to bomb Kurds in Iraq.

The Israeli military police report on the 2014 strike seen by The Intercept offers the most direct evidence to date that Israel has used armed drones to launch attacks in Gaza. Testimony from the drone operators, commanders, and intelligence officers who took part in the attack confirms that they used an armed drone to fire the missile that slammed into the jetty, killing the person who had entered the container, and also to launch a second strike, which killed three of the survivors as they fled across the beach.

According to the testimony of one naval officer involved in the strikes, the mission was initially considered “a great success,” because the strike team believed, wrongly, that they had killed four Hamas militants preparing to launch an attack on Israeli forces.

Within minutes of the two strikes, however, a group of international journalists who had witnessed the attack from nearby hotels reported that the victims torn apart by the missiles were not adult militants but four small boys, cousins who were 10 and 11 years old.

Another four boys from the same family survived the attack, but were left with shrapnel wounds and deep emotional scars.

Harrowing images of the children running desperately across the beach after the first missile had killed their cousin were quickly shared by a Palestinian photographer, an Al Jazeera reporter and a camera crew from French television.

A brutal image of the immediate aftermath captured by Tyler Hicks of the New York Times, one of the journalists who witnessed the attack, made the killing of the four boys, all of them sons of Gaza fishermen from the Bakr family, reverberate worldwide.

The French TV correspondent Liseron Boudoul, whose report that day included distressing video of the boys running along the beach before the second strike, noted that she and other witnesses to the attack were unclear where, exactly, the missiles had come from — although initial speculation centered on Israeli naval vessels seen just offshore.

THE SECRET TESTIMONY from the Israeli military personnel involved in the attack establishes for the first time that the drone operators treated the jetty as a free-fire zone on the mistaken assumption that it was off-limits to anyone but militants.

After images of the attack prompted widespread outrage, Israel’s army conducted a review of the mission and recommended that a military police investigation into possible criminal negligence be conducted. The testimonies collected by the military police from the strike team were included in a report presented to Israel’s military advocate general, Maj. Gen. Danny Efroni, 11 months after the boys were killed.

Efroni did not release the testimonies, but did make a summary of the report’s findings public on June 11, 2015, when he closed the investigation without filing any charges. Israel’s chief military prosecutor decided that no further criminal or disciplinary measures would be taken, since the investigators had concluded that “it would not have been possible for the operational entities involved to have identified these figures, via aerial surveillance, as children.”

Efroni did not explain why that was impossible. Two days before the strike in question, Israel’s military PR unit had released another video clip in which drone operators could be heard deciding to halt strikes because they had identified figures in their live feeds as children.

Adalah, also known as the Haifa-based Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, has spent the past three years fighting on behalf of the families of the boys — Ismail Bakr, 10; Ahed Bakr, 10; Zakaria Bakr, 10; and Mohammed Bakr, 11 — to have the decision not to prosecute the soldiers overturned by an Israeli court.

Much of that time has been spent waiting for Israel’s attorney general, Mandelblit, to simply reply to appeals filed by Adalah and two Gazan rights groups, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights.

In February, Adalah said in a statement that Israel’s own investigation “revealed that the Israeli military did not take any measures to ascertain whether the targets on the ground were civilians, let alone children, prior to intentionally directing the attacks against them.”

Bishara, one of the Adalah lawyers representing the boys’ families, told The Intercept in a telephone interview that the Israeli investigation of the killings, in which the military cleared itself of wrongdoing, was flawed in several ways. To start with, the testimonies were only collected by the military police four months after the incident, and only considered what could be seen of the beach through the drone cameras. No testimony was taken from the international journalists who witnessed the attack, and the accounts of Palestinian witnesses, including written affidavits from boys injured in the strikes, were discounted.

A Wall Street Journal video report filed on the day of the attack by Nick Casey, a correspondent staying in a hotel close to the jetty, cast doubt on the Israeli intelligence that designated the site a Hamas compound. Casey’s report, which featured images of the first young victim’s mangled body being taken from the jetty, explained that “no one knew why this place had been bombarded; there have been no Hamas attacks from here and no rockets that we’ve seen.”

When the Israeli authorities closed the case in 2015, Alexander Marquardt, a former ABC Jerusalem correspondent who had also witnessed the attack, disputed the finding that the jetty was sealed off from the beach, arguing that it was open to civilians.

Nederland van het gas, waarom? Tijd om wat 'gas terug te nemen...'

Beste bezoeker ik zal met de deur in huis vallen: Nederland van het gas is mede ingegeven door de kolencentrales die met miljarden aan subsidie tot 2030 hun kankerverwekkende en klimaat verrampenerende werk mogen blijven doen......

Deze kolencentrales zijn niet gebouwd voor de Nederlandse behoefte aan elektriciteit, maar voor de export van elektriciteit..... Doordat de VS en Australië massaal steenkool dumpen op de wereldmarkt, staan onze gasgestookte energiecentrales stil, centrales die nog steeds aanmerkelijk veel schoner zijn dan de nieuwe kolencentrales waar men 'biomassa' verstookt (lees: bossen uit de VS die zijn verwerkt tot houtpellets....*)

Bovendien is het gunstig voor de industrie als de Nederlander de komende jaren zijn/haar gasfornuizen, gascomforts (gaskookplaten) en gasgestookte cv's moet inruilen voor elektrische varianten...... Waar de overheid dan weer op verdient door de btw op die producten en de loonbelasting voor de hele ombouw (ook voor het installeren van een extra stop en aansluiting voor elektrisch koken)..... Op gas koken is 10 keer duurzamer dan eerst elektriciteit te maken met gas, laat staan hetzelfde proces met steenkool.....

Daarnaast is de volgorde volkomen verkeerd, waarom niet eerst alle huizen goed isoleren, wat 20 jaar geleden al had moeten gebeuren.....

Het langer doorgaan met gas, betekent niet dat er gas in Groningen moet worden gewonnen, Rusland heeft meer dan genoeg gas, bovendien zijn er nog de gasvelden op de Noordzee. Eén van de redenen waarom de VS Rusland sancties oplegt, is bedoeld om de EU uiteindelijk te verbieden nog langer gas te kopen in Rusland (firma's die dit gas gaan gebruiken zullen door de VS op de zwarte lijst worden gezet), Trump wil het peperdure, gesubsidieerde en op uiterst smerige manier gewonnen schaliegas uit de VS slijten aan de EU.....

* Het kappen van bomen, het vervoer van die bomen, het verwerken tot houtpellets en het transport per schip naar Nederland is ongelofelijk milieu belastend en de bijstook is dan ook allesbehalve duurzaam.... Daar komt nog bij dat het verstoken van hout allesbehalve duurzaam is (ook al is het wat schoner dan steenkoolverbranding....)...... Eén van VVD's opperhufters, t.w. Kamp, gaf vorig jaar, vlak voor zijn aftreden nog een subsidie van 4 miljard aan de eigenaren van die kolencentrales, dit voor het inkopen van die 'biomassa'; me dunkt een strafrechtelijk onderzoek meer dan waard!!

PS: hetzelfde geldt voor het elektrisch rijden, dat is allesbehalve duurzaam, neem de winning van grondstoffen in mijnbouw voor de accu's, die bovendien de auto's nog zwaarder maken. Op waterstof rijden is veel economischer en meer efficiënt, zo hebben een paar Nederlanders een proces uitgevonden waarmee waterstof tot korrels zijn verwerkt >> water erbij en je kan een elektromotor aandrijven! (en geen foeilelijke laadpalen in de straat!) Het is dan ook duidelijk dat dit elektrisch rijden is ingegeven door de 'uiterst voordelige' steenkoolprijs en daarmee elektriciteitsprijs........ (vandaar ook dat de prijs van elektriciteit, in de onzalige plannen van Rutte 3, omlaag gaat en de prijs voor gas omhoog, terwijl het overgrote deel van die elektriciteit wordt gemaakt met.... steenkool!)

'Protection Environmental Agency' staat gebruik asbest weer toe.......

Het Environmental Protecion Agency (EPA) is er o.a. om de burgers in de VS te beschermen tegen gevaarlijke chemische stoffen, echter daar komt in de praktijk geen bliksem van terecht, zo bleek afgelopen 1 juni, toen de EPA het gebruik van het zwaar kankerverwekkende asbest weer toestond......... Het moet dan wel gaan om 'echt nieuwe gebruiksregels' (SNUR >> Significant New Use Rule).......

Neemt niet weg dat men ook asbest weer mag gebruiken voor dakbedekking en de restricties zullen in de praktijk vrijwel niet tot verboden op het gebruik van asbest leiden.....

Hoe is 't mogelijk mensen..??!!! Een overheidsorgaan dat een stof toestaat waarvoor bij wijze van spreken kilometers aan bewijzen liggen dat het zwaar kankerverwekkend is...... Ach ja, zoals bij ons heel vaak de centen voorgaan op de volksgezondheid, is het in de VS een 'nationale sport' om de producten van bedrijven toe te staan die schadelijk zijn voor de volksgezondheid...... (men is zelfs bezig om de etikettering van deze stoffen niet langer verplicht te stellen, dan wel te alsnog te verplichten.....) E.e.a. blijkt ook weer uit het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Sydney Franklin dat werd gepubliceerd op National News Product Technology. Jaarlijks overlijden alleen in de VS al 40.000 mensen aan de gevolgen van asbestkanker (ook wel mesothelioom genoemd).....

Moet je nagaan dat er in Washington al vanaf begin vorig jaar een peperdure EU lobbyclub zit, die het liefst vandaag nog het TTIP verdrag getekend wil hebben..... Als Trump al geneigd zou zijn dit te doen, is het zeker, dat ook fabrieken die in hun producten asbest hebben verwerkt, deze producten mogen gaan verkopen in de EU, immers Trump heeft alleen oog voor de belangen van VS bedrijven.........

EPA is now allowing asbestos back into manufacturing

One of the most dangerous construction-related carcinogens is now legally allowed back into U.S. manufacturing under a new rule by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Fast Company recently reported that on June 1, the EPA authorized a “SNUR” (Significant New Use Rule) which allows new products containing asbestos to be created on a case-by-case basis. 

According to environmental advocates, this new rule gives chemical companies the upper hand in creating new uses for harmful products in the United States. In May, the EPA released a report detailing its new framework for evaluating the risk of its top prioritized substances. The report states that the agency will no longer consider the effect or presence of substances in the air, ground, or water in its risk assessments.

This news comes after the EPA reviewed its first batch of 10 chemicals under the 2016 amendment to the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which requires the agency to continually reevaluate hundreds of potentially toxic chemicals in lieu of removing them from the market or placing new restrictions on their use. The SNUR greenlights companies to use toxic chemicals like asbestos without consideration about how they will endanger people who are indirectly in contact with them.

Asbestos was widely used in building insulation up until it was banned in most countries in the 1970s. The U.S. is one of the only nations in the world that has placed significant restrictions on the substance without banning it completely. The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) revealed in April that asbestos-related deaths now total nearly 40,000 annually, with lung cancer and mesothelioma being the most common illnesses in association with the toxin. That number could rise if new asbestos-containing products make their way into new buildings.

Healthy Building Network (HBN), an environmental advocacy group, told Fast Company that the fibrous material poses a major health risk for everyone exposed to it, including those who mine it, those who handle it in industrial facilities, as well as people near or inside renovation and construction projects where it’s being used. HBN’s Board President Bill Walsh said that the chlor-alkali industry is the only industry in the country that still uses asbestos, reportedly importing about 480 tons of the carcinogen each year from Russia and Brazil. 

Walsh pointed out that chlorine-based plastics are commonly found in building-product materials and that “virtually all” asbestos in the U.S. is used in the industrial process to make chlorine. This includes PVC and vinyl plastics, which is largely found in the creation of pipes, tiles, flooring, adhesives, paints, and roofing products.

As the world’s largest exporter of asbestos, the Russian company Uralasbest operates an enormous open mine nearly half the size of Manhattanin a mountainous town 900 miles northeast of Moscow, according to the Center for Public Integrity. The company has support from the government and President Vladimir Putin, even though their economic success exposes the local residents to major health risks. Once referred to as “the dying city,” Asbest’s residents have reported the carcinogenic dust is often found as a thick film over garden vegetables, laundry lines, and even on the floors of their homes.

Earlier last month, The Washington Post noted that the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the ADAO had discovered a controversial post on Uralasbest’s Facebook page showing photos of company pallets stamped with a seal of U.S. President Donald Trump’s face. Trump has long been vocal about his skepticism on the harmful effects of asbestos, citing in his 1997 book, The Art of the Comeback, that anti-asbestos efforts were “led by the mob.” In 2012, he tweeted that the World Trade Center might not have burned had the fire-retardant material not been removed from the towers. It’s estimated that 400 tons of asbestos fiber went into the structures before the developers stopped it from being used further in 1971. 

Asbestos, while already legal for some uses, has not been as widely used in U.S. construction since nearly 60 countries forbid it from use over 40 years ago. Though the EPA is now easing its regulations against integrating the harmful toxin and others like it under the Trump administration, it will largely be the responsibility of local and state governments, as well as companies and informed consumers to counter these new federal moves. Walsh says it’s up to sustainable building-product manufacturers and ultimately, architects to pressure the market.

“Architects really set the pace of design, in terms of aesthetics and materials that we like,” he said. “If they start to incorporate health-based criteria into their palette, it could really have an influence on what the manufacturers produce.”

The EPA told The Washington Post it will conduct further studies on the first 10 chemicals under the amended TSCA and final risk evaluations will published in December 2019.
