De VS is rijp voor fascistisch bestuur, wat zeg ik.......

Democraten en de reguliere media in de VS hebben de laatste jaren aangeduid als een politiek vacuüm, de jaren onder Trump, waar men volkomen voorbijgaat aan het feit dat Trump een logisch gevolg was van een al decennialange bestaande omarming van het ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme, m.i. niets anders dan een andere verschijningsvorm van fascisme en mocht je daaraan twijfelen, zou je toch moeten zien dat het op zeker een aanloop is naar een volledig fascistisch regeringsbeleid in de VS en andere westerse staten......

Vergeet niet dat de fascistische partijen (en ingeval van de PVV een beweging), zelfs binnen de EU met elke verkiezing groter worden... Met de laatste verkiezingen daar is Groot-Brittannië een uitzondering, echter daarbij moet je wel bedenken dat de Tories en nu zelfs Labour onder opperploert Starmer de fascisten van  Ukip de wind deels uit de zeilen hebben genomen (terwijl de vraag blijft staan hoe Ukip het bij de volgende Britse verkiezingen zal doen....)

De laatste jaren en zeker het laatste jaar (vanwege e Coronacrisis) hebben westerse en andere regeringen op grote schaal de burgerrechten hebben uitgekleed, zogenaamd om deze na de Coronacrisis te herstellen en terug te gaan naar 'het normale leven', echter de (ook recente) geschiedenis laat zien dat het maar zelden gebeurt dat men terugkomt op genomen beleid, neem bijvoorbeeld het beleid op gebied van terrorisme. Men heeft allerlei maatregelen genomen, waarbij geheime diensten en politie een groot aantal extra bevoegdheden hebben gekregen, alles gelegitimeerd met de dooddoener van 'de strijd tegen terreur', maar deze bevoegdheden zullen op zeker niet worden teruggedraaid, ook al zou terreur een zachte dood sterven....... (en dat zal niet gebeuren)

Men maakt het publiek bang voor die terreur (dat doen zowel politici, de geheime diensten als de media), terwijl je oneindig veel meer kans loopt te overlijden dan wel zwaar gewond te raken ten gevolge van een ongeval, of dat nu binnens- of buitenshuis is....... Op grond van die angst worden maatregelen genomen waarvan het overgrote deel van de bevolking de gevolgen niet kan overzien waar dit toe kan leiden >> een totale controle staat, ofwel een politiestaat waarbij de politiek alleen nog een ondergeschikte rol zal spelen om de burgers de idee te geven dat men nog in een democratie leeft........

Als je gelooft dat men deze maatregelen terug zal draaien mocht morgen elke terreur zijn overwonnen, moet ik je zoals gezegd teleurstellen, dat zal (zoals jezelf waarschijnlijk al lang begrijpt) nooit gebeuren, zeker niet zolang het machtige westen elders illegale oorlogen uitvecht, staatsgrepen organiseert (en dat maar al te vaak tegen democratisch gekozen regeringen), geheime uiterst gewelddadige militaire acties uitvoert en willekeurig mensen opblaast middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht van een misdaad, standrechtelijke executies van verdachten en 'bijkomende schade' waar geen rechter aan te pas is gekomen...... De westerse volkeren wordt voorgehouden dat deze illegale oorlogen en moorddadige acties noodzakelijk zijn voor de veiligheid van het eigen land, uiteraard een leugen van grote proporties..... (sterker nog: er wordt met deze moorden haat gekweekt tegen het westen en dat zal uiteindelijk tot terrreur leiden op het grondgebied van die westerse landen.......) Deze illegale oorlogen en ander ongeoorloofd geweld staan voor niets anders dan grootschalige westerse terreur!!

De leugen dat westerse terreur noodzakelijk is wordt door de media en zelfs 'Hollywood' tot het oneindige herhaald..... Zag daar gisteravond een 'mooi voorbeeld' van, de Britse film 'Eye in the Sky', over het opblazen van een moskee waar een paar kopstukken van Al-Shabaab verbleven en waarbuiten een meisje brood verkoopt. Alsof men werkelijk begaan is met het lot van het meisje, neemt men uiteindelijk toch de beslissing de moskee met twee door een drone afgeschoten raketten op te blazen (ook daar tegelijk een paar mannen in de moskee worden voorzien van een bomgordel, een zeer onwaarschijnlijk scenario)..... Het meisje komt om het leven door die aanval en de daders en alle anderen die betrokken waren bij die aanval waren zogenaamd zeer geschokt door het gebeuren, terwijl de realiteit laat zien dat men enorm veel aanvallen uitvoert met drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers zelfs niet werden verdacht van terreur....... (voor een groot deel vrouwen en kinderen....) In de film probeert men de kijker ervan te overtuigen dat het westerse geweld, in dit geval in Nairobi (Kenya), nodig is om de bevolking daar te beschermen....... Het is dat het zo triest is, anders zou je je doodlachen......

Lees het artikel van Nolan Higdon en Mickey Huff, gepubliceerd op CounterPunch en zegt het voort, zoals al even aangeduid in mijn schrijven, ook hier lopen we de kans langzaam maar zeker te belanden in een politiestaat, de controle is al op een punt beland die zwaar doet denken aan het boek 1984 van George Orwell...... (zo wordt hier al censuur uitgeoefend op het internet) Nogmaals de kans dat je het slachtoffer wordt van een terreuraanslag is bijzonder klein en dan wordt die terreur alleen gevoed door westers ingrijpen in landen waar het niets maar dan ook helemaal niets te zoeken heeft, terwijl de politici en de westerse media ons, zoals hiervoor al aangehaald, doen geloven dat men wel moet ingrijpen daar dit in het belang is van onze veiligheid of om zogenaamd democratie te brengen >> alweer: het is dat het zo triest is anders...... Alleen deze eeuw heeft de VS met hulp van de NAVO en dictatoriaal geregeerde arabische staten als Saoedi-Arabië, al meer dan 5 miljoen slachtoffers gemaakt of beter gezegd vermoord, als je denkt dat alle nabestaanden van dat enorme aantal slachtoffers het hierbij laten zitten ben je uiterst naïef..... (en uiteraard weten de westerse regeringen, die meedoen aan de illegale oorlogen van de VS, dondersgoed dat dit een feit is!!)

Ripe for Fascism: A Post-Coup d’Trump Autopsy of American Democracy

For the past few years, the corporate/establishment news media oft analyzed Donald Trump’s presidency in an historical vacuum, ignoring the decades-long, bipartisan embrace of neoliberalism that helped bring about his successful candidacy while focusing sensationally on his cult of reality TV personality. Such bread and circus tunnel vision misses the bigger picture. Trump, even with all his faults, is a symptom of a much larger pattern brought on by increased privatization of the public sphere, especially in the realms of education and media, which go back over half a century, particularly the past forty years. With the continued degradation of these key pillars of our society, our civic and information literacy has suffered greatly at a time when the world has become more complex, and our country more unequal. As a consequence, we have become more partisan, more divided, and more estranged from one another as a society. We argued this in our book, United States of Distraction, and unfortunately our thesis continues to ring true.

Most legacy media outlets sought to persuade voters to choose Joe Biden for president because “democracy is on the ballot” and once Trump was out of office, things would return to normal, we could all go back to “brunch.” However, this analysis overlooks the crucial realities of how we got here and, as Lau Tzu might suggest, where we have been and are heading. The “return to normal” rhetoric distracts from the reality of American democracy: it is in such an emaciated state that a more adept and sophisticated version of Trump could easily come to power. It was our infatuation with what passes for “normal” that brought about this historical moment. The Democracy Index rates the U.S. as a “flawed democracy,” which means that the elections are free and fair, basic civil liberties are respected, but there are underlying issues (e.g. the erosion of the free press and suppression of opposition political parties and viewpoints). Prior to Trump, scholars noted that the U.S. was an oligarchy, not a democratic republic. However, rudimentary corporate news media narratives concerning the so-called “coup” at the U.S. Capital January 6^th leave out crucial realities that can easily lead audiences to glean that Donald Trump and his followers single handedly undermined the American democratic experiment. To be clear, Trump as a person and as a symbol has been responsible for the proliferation of dangerous and disgusting attitudes and behaviors in the U.S. However, we have been heading here for decades. To alter where we are heading, we need to confront certain realties that media narratives distract attention from on a ritual basis.

The first reality is that we have to focus our energies on helping citizens discern fact from fiction. Trump’s behavior is unequivocally reckless, but his rhetoric would have been unsuccessful sans a significant population whose material decline, after 50 years of neoliberal policies, became susceptible to the fake news that permeates the internet. Indeed, their behavior illuminates a rarely discussed aspect of so-called fake news: it is particularly dangerous when it leads people to believe they must take aggressive actions they deem are morally justified. For example, the people at the Capitol would be heroes if there was actually well-sourced, demonstrable factual evidence that 2020 election was stolen. So too would the individual who shot up the restaurant in Pizzagate, to expose a pedophilia ring. In both cases, individuals showed concern for children and democracy, but reacted to false or incomplete information. That is to say, someone is not necessarily a bad person for engaging with fake news, but it can lead them to engage in horrific behavior. We saw this from left leaning voters as well. When it came to Russiagate, the Democrats repeatedly red-baited with the baseless and disproven claims that the Russians aided Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign, colluded with Trump’s 2016 campaign, shut down a Vermont power plant, put a bounty on U.S. soldiers, hacked the Democratic Party’s emails in 2016, and released Hunter Biden’s computer. People who engage with fake news are not bad people, but too often lack the skills to evaluate and analyze content critically.

The second reality is that those who chide Trump are often responsible for Trump. They have already extracted everything they needed from his presidency. Take prominent Republicans like Mike Pence, Lindsay Graham, and Mitch McConnell. They excused or ignored Trump’s racism, classism, and sexism to get tax cuts and judicial appointments. Similarly, big-tech companies reaped massive profits by creating a platform for Trump to build his electoral brand where his opponents could virtue signal against him. Only after Trump lost the election and threatened their business model with the repeal of section 230 of the Communications Decency Act did they oppose him. Closely related, the corporate media, even the supposed “resistance” outlets like MSNBC, who owe their increased audience size and massive profits to Trump, have recently admitted that their existence depends upon lazy and reckless coverage of Trump. Perhaps a harbinger of what’s to come is happening at Twitter. Just days after they dumped Trump from the popular social media platform, their stock plummeted by 10 percent, still down nearly seven percent at the close on Monday. These media companies helped create the need for a Trump figure to make profits, and as journalist Matt Taibbi recently noted, this is another major reason why we need a new media system, one preferably of, by, and for the public, which was the topic of Victor Pickard’s stellar book, Democracy Without Journalism.

The third reality we must all face is that Trump is a key symptom, not the cause, of declining democratic culture in the U.S. Trump would not be able to undermine the pillars of democracy if they had not already been in shambles. This is crucial to understand because a return to the “normal” politicians will do little if anything to slow the corrosion of democracy. The reality is that Trump’s fake news epithet was effective because the news media had traded journalism for profiteering, partisanship, and political grandstanding decades ago. Trump’s faux populist derision of elites found a sympathetic audience after policy failures such as NAFTA, the bogus justification for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the pre- and post-2008 economic collapse response, and their polling and analysis about the 2016 and 2020 elections. Worse, the so-called party of the people, the Democratic Party’s (and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC) shifted their appeal to educated elite rather than the working class, as Boots Riley recently noted. This helps explain why 100 million Americans refuse to vote because they feel that neither party speaks to their needs. In fact, “non-voters are less educated, poorer, and more likely to be minorities, single and women.”  By the 2014 polls showed the DCCC had its lowest approval rating ever resulting in the party holding less seats under President Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s leadership than any time since 1920. It is no wonder that in 2020, Pelosi proved to be such an effective bogeyperson for GOP attack ads that the DCCC lost seats in the House of Representatives (where she is the Speaker). If the U.S. hopes to avoid another, and more sophisticated version of Trump, the neoliberal behaviors, attitudes, policies, and politicians of the last forty-years must be sent to the dustbin of history and studiously avoided moving forward.

The fourth reality is that we cannot censor our way back to a strong democracy. Censorship, a practice long associated with authoritarian regimes, is now embraced by those that oppose Trump. Censorship is dangerous because studies show that it not only fails to stop the targeted information, it popularizes the content in what is known as the Streisand Effect, and punishes bystanders who experience a chilling effect. The post- January 6^th removal of Trump’s social media accounts saw Democrats cheer just as they had a few years earlier when other right-wing accounts were removed. We find it difficult to celebrate censorship by algorithms and technocrats, especially given the impacts go far beyond right wing fringes as suppression of expression comes with major civic consequences. Furthermore, the actions of these big tech overlords amounts to censorship by proxy considering the Silicon Valley’s wealth is dependent upon the federal government’s revolving door, loans and innovation such as the internet, and contracts to collect citizens’ data and surveil them. Censorship by proxy defined the Second Red Scare which saw the federal government intimidate industry and collude with the Screen Actors Guild, through Ronald Reagan, to develop the Hollywood Blacklist. Rather, than censor we need to cultivate a populace who are invested in the society, have faith in a more transparently accountable system, and are equipped with the critical thinking skills to effectively evaluate and analyze content. History has been very clear that this will not come about by mocking, labeling, and censoring individuals or content.

Donald Trump has helped peel back the gilded veneer of democracy in America. His presidency has revealed what neoliberalism has wrought: a post-democratic U.S. ripe for fascism. Democracy ceases to exist unless the citizenry participates in and respects the process, put its faith in and defends public institutions, accepts verifiable electoral results, and attains the critical thinking and media literacy skills necessary to make well informed and sophisticated decisions. We cannot, and should not, return to normal, as by this point we are all too aware of what “normal” has wrought.

Onbegrijpelijk dat de reguliere media, die zo hysterisch meededen aan de demonisering van Jeremy Corbyn, die hem de Britse verkiezingen kostte, nu geen letter gebruiken om te berichten over diens plaatsvervanger Starmer.

Bijzonder 'vreemd' daar het een ieder in Groot-Brittannië duidelijk zal zijn dat Starmer in alles achter Johnson staat, NB een vijand van Labour...... Ondanks dat Starmer iedereen de partij uitzet die zelfs maar 'ruikt' naar socialisme, stelt deze oplichter een socialistisch beleid te voeren..... ha! ha! ha! ha! Terwijl hij het tegenovergestelde doet, het inhumane ijskoude neoliberale beleid van zijn 'tegenstrever' Johnson steunen, houden de media deze marionet van Johnson de handen boven het hoofd.....

Dezelfde media die Corbyn beschuldigden van antisemitisme, maken amper een woord vuil over het uit Labour zetten van Joden die een socialistisch beleid voorstaan door Starmer die godbetert zelf ook Corbyn durfde te beschuldigen van antisemitisme (en dat terwijl Starmer zoals gezegd durft te stellen een socialistisch beleid voor te staan.....)  

Alan Rusbridger, voormalig hoofdredacteur van The Guardian, zit in een Facebook team dat moet toezien op wat er gezegd wordt op dit platform, ofwel hij maakt deel uit van een team dat censuur uitoefent op wat men ziet als 'fake news' (nepnieuws) en manipulatie...... Terwijl The Guardian de illegale oorlogen van de VS heeft gesteund en mede verantwoordelijk was voor het demoniseren van Corbyn (NB onder Rusbridger als hoofdredacteur!!) De reden om Corbyn van antisemitisme te beschuldigen was te danken aan zijn kritiek op het bloedige beleid van Israël, tegen het verdrukte Palestijnse volk....... Alsof dat ook maar iets met antisemisme te maken heeft...... Diverse zionistische groeperingen doen hun best om elke kritiek in westerse landen op de staat Israël, als antisemitisme geboekt te krijgen, een schande van formaat!!

Rachael Swindon schreef een artikel over Boris Johnson en Keir Starmer, waarin ze geen spaan heel laat van de laatste. Starmer bakt er niets van en i.p.v. dat Labour voor zou liggen op de Tories, zoals Starmer voorspelde, ligt deze ofwel achter of zou nek aan nek lopen met de Tories, ondanks de schandalige blunders die Johnson beging, waarop Starmer amper of geen kritiek heeft, sterker nog keer op keer laat hij zien achter het meer dan belachelijke en schunnige neoliberale beleid van Johnson en zijn Tories te staan.....

Starmer zegt de verschillende facties binnen de Labour partij te willen verenigen, hoe vreemd dan (nogmaals) dat hij alles wat naar links ruikt uit de partij zet.......

Volgens vooraanstaande moslims en moslim organisaties in GB is Starmer een islamofoob en dat met bewijzen, combineer dit met het echte antisemitisme van deze ploert, gecombineerd met zijn afgeven op laag betaalde buitenlandse werknemers en je ziet dat Starmer zelfs als fascist kan worden gezien.... Waar nog aan moet worden toegevoegd dat duizenden gekleurde Labour leden de partij (onder leiderschap van Starmer) hebben verlaten vanwege het niet optreden tegen onvervalst racisme..... En dan nogmaals: de te linkse Joodse politici worden door deze schoft de partij uitgewerkt, wat niet tot ophef leidt in de reguliere (Britse en andere westerse) media die eerder Jeremy Corbyn van antisemitisme beschuldigden...... (ook de Nederlandse reguliere media, inclusief de zogenaamd onafhankelijke NOS, deden mee aan deze walgelijke propaganda)

Lees het artikel en je zal zien dat je Swindon niet anders dan gelijk kan geven in haar afgeven op Starmer, waarbij ze tot de conclusie komt dat Starmer een vijand is van links, terwijl hij bij zijn aantreden het gore lef had te zeggen dat hij een socialistisch beleid zou voeren..... (wat alleen zou kloppen als socialisme hetzelfde is als neoliberalisme en dat beste bezoeker zal pas gebeuren als kerstmis, pinksteren en pasen op dezelfde dag vallen.......)

You Have Two Paths: Pathological Or Pathetic.

It’s like having to pick between variants of Covid-19. 

Down one path you will find pathological Boris Johnson, and down the other path you will find pathetic Keir Starmer.

Are these two establishment stalwarts the very best of what Britain has to offer?

Do you honestly trust either of them to make your life any better than what it is now?

If you answered yes, what’s the point in reading on from here? People can’t stand home truths at the best of times.

Despite one opinion poll putting Starmer SIX points behind the worst government in living memory, a couple of the polls are putting Labour neck and neck with the Tories. If you think this is down to the wooden-like pitiable Starmer, I’ve got news for you.

This is down to Boris Johnson alone. 

People are sick of him. I’m sick of him. You’re sick of him. His Fiancé is sick of him. He’s probably sick of himself. So he should be.

If Mr Starmer had some progressive, common sense socialist policies, like the ones he promised to offer, he might be closer to the 20 points ahead that you were promised by the Keirleaders.

“Any other leader than Jeremy Corbyn”, they said. This was quite obviously untrue.

If Captain Yellow Belly can’t get a mile ahead of this rotten abomination of an administration now, there’s not much chance he ever will.

Team Starmer are relying on Johnson’s own unpopularity to see their man home. The naivety, considering what these focus groups and SpAds* get paid, is utterly astonishing.

There’s probably as much chance of me being the next leader of the Conservative Party as there is of Boris Johnson being Starmer’s opponent at the next General Election, which is likely to be three years and five months away.

A day is a long time in politics, 1,250ish days in politics is a lifetime. 

Johnson is doomed. I could write several blogs detailing his every disaster during the last year or so, but I’ll keep it as brief as I can. 

Johnson and his government failed to act quickly enough during the initial outbreak. Had his government acted sooner, much like the rest of the world, tens of thousands of lives could’ve been saved. 

While the world implemented a safety blanket around its people’s, Britain, and the United States threw the elderly and vulnerable under a bus and let the deadly disease do the rest. 

While global leaders prepared to fight the deadly virus, Boris Johnson quite literally went on holiday. Well, books won’t write themselves.

Do you remember when he said we would turn the tide on the virus within 12 weeks? Then it was by Christmas.

Do you remember when he promised the world-beating test and trace app that was meant to be in place by June 1st for schools to operate safely? Where is Dido Harding anyway?

Do you remember when he told you to sing happy birthday, twice, while other nations had already locked down and had a cohesive plan in place? 

Do you remember when Johnson boasted about shaking hands with Coronavirus patients in hospital, shortly before needing assistance with his own breathing? 

 

You do have to wonder if a man so willing to abandon his own children with such ease is the best person to do what is right by 'our children'.

Shouldn’t a leader at least have some sort of a moral compass, or are we now so far down the rabbit hole that his racism, his homophobia, his philandering, his thuggery and his complete inability to lead a country somehow doesn’t matter, because it’s just ‘Boris’?

Dear old Bojo. Bozo the clown. BJ.

He isn’t your friend. He’s not a big misunderstood cuddly bear. He isn’t your mate from down the pub. He is a pathological danger. Call him Johnson, not “Boris”. Giving him these affectionate or comical nicknames plays into the narrative.

I didn’t even mention Dominic Cummings’ Tour De Durham, the oven-ready Brexit deal, the A-level and GCSE** catastrophe, the promise of a five-day Christmas jolly with your family, and I didn’t even mention the Russia Report.

If only Jeremy Corbyn had this Johnson administration to battle, instead of one that was simply elected to deliver Brexit. He was eight points ahead of Theresa May’s shambolic government, before the smears and sabotage of 2018-19 got underway. 

I wonder how far ahead he could’ve been now? Labour’s poll boost has been delivered at the expense of real dissatisfaction with Johnson’s handling of the pandemic. 

It’s quite cute people think it’s down to pathetic Keith.

You would be amazed at the calibre of people that have told me that Jeremy should’ve held on a bit longer.

A politician with a radical agenda, one which will truly rebuild Britain post-Covid, post-Brexit and post-recession, would do rather well at the next election, don’t you think?

He’s had nine months to offer a clear alternative, or as Starmer himself put it, to make the “moral case for socialism”. How’s that going?! He’s spent more time making the moral case for Boris Johnson. 

When the difficult questions were being asked of Johnson’s government, Starmer refused to ask any himself. 

When the government made screw up after screw up, Starmer would pop up on every news channel, parroting the phrase “we support the government”.

From Johnson’s Brexit capitulation to sending children back to school to spread the deadly disease, twice, Starmer has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Prime Minister. 

Starmer was elected upon a false prospectus. A man that pretends to stand up for everyone, and stands up for absolutely nobody - apart from a few lobbyists - and he seems fine with failing to call out white supremacy, or failing to vote against torture, or ordering the suspensions of brilliant lefties, for the heinous crime of being a socialist.

Starmer is an ally of Johnson and an enemy of the left. What they say to each other in these private phone calls, and Starmer’s letters of support, is quite literally anyone’s guess.

Starmer and Evans have suspended at least 50 CLP chairs and vice-chairs, for exercising their democratic right.

Left-wing Jews have been suspended from the party without an adequate reason.

The Labour Muslim Network issued a damning report into Islamophobia in the Labour Party, under his leadership.

Thousands of BAME party*** members left in their droves because of the leadership's inability to deal with racism.

The long-awaited independent Forde report is apparently a little bit too independent for his liking. Still waiting.

And all of the time Starmer has been orchestrating war against the left of the Labour Party, the Prime Minister has had a free licence to get away with murder.

The purge of the Labour left has been prioritised before the health and wellbeing of the British people, and no matter how many flags you sit in front of, no matter how many times you tell us how much you love your country, you watch the Queens Christmas Day broadcast, and you always sing the national anthem, it still doesn’t make you patriotic.

If you put division within your own ranks before the national interest, you’re not patriotic. You are weak, you have failed, you are pathetic.

And that’s that.

Rellen op Capitol Hill: burgeroorlog in VS dichterbij dan de laatste 155 jaar en de roep om censuur klinkt harder dan ooit

Terwijl de wereld hysterisch reageert op de gebeurtenissen die gisteren plaatsvonden op Capital Hill, misbruiken meerdere politici en reguliere mediaorganen deze om te pleiten voor censuur op het net en de sociale media. Zo ook D66 kwaadaardigheid Sigrid Kaag die als was ze al premier van Nederland de gebeurtenissen in Washington veroordeelde en vanmorgen in bedekte termen op BNR na 8.00 u. pleitte voor censuur toen ze stelde dat we op moeten passen voor het woordgebruik op de sociale media....... Vergeet niet dat haar minister en partijcollega Ollongren, de gesel van de Nederlandse huurders, meermaals naar (echt) linkse mensen in ons land, dus niet van PvdA, GL of SP, heeft gewezen als zijnde Russische trollen, die niet de kans zouden moeten hebben de mening van het publiek te beïnvloeden, zo waarschuwde deze oplichter en grootlobbyist voor het neoliberalisme en het bedrijfsleven ook voor manipulatie van verkiezingen in ons land door Russische trollen......

Zoals gezegd misplaatste hysterie over de gebeurtenissen in Washington, immers als je een beetje het nieuws in de gaten hebt gehouden al van voor de presidentsverkiezingen en zeker daarna, heeft Trump meermaals aangegeven dat hij zich het presidentschap niet af zou laten nemen door gestoken en daarmee gestolen verkiezingen, geen woord Spaans in te ontdekken..... Het voorgaande zeker als je weet dat zijn aanhangers voor een flink deel lid zijn van bewapende milities, die maar een paar woorden nodig hebben om in opstand te komen..... Neem de gewelddadige fascistische groep die zich Proud Boys noemt en die Trump maande waakzaam te zijn nadat de leden in Washington en elders geweld gebruikten tegen vreedzame demonstranten van Black Lives Matter (BLM)...... Vooral de reguliere media moeten zich schamen als ze zeggen totaal verrast te zijn door de gebeurtenissen van gisteren......

Gisteravond werd het Oog op Morgen op Radio1 verlengd vanwege de gebeurtenissen en donderde bijna van m'n stoel toen ik een correspondent in de VS hoorde zeggen dat hij niets begreep van de ontstane situatie daar 'hij normaal CNN maar aan hoefde te zetten om te weten wat er gebeurt in Washington.....' Inderdaad dat is het niveau van de zogenaamde journalistiek in ons land en ver daarbuiten...... Een andere correspondent, volgens mij Lucas Waagmeester, correspondent van de zogenaamde onafhankelijke zendgemachtigde NOS, 'moest' nog even melden dat er ook linkse groepen geweld gebruikten in Washington.... Geen beeld dat dit bevestigt, maar dat interesseert Waagmeester blijkbaar niet.......

Nog even terug naar Kaag, o.a. minister Buitenlandse Handel, zij stelde bij BNR tevens dat ze Biden feliciteerde met zijn presidentschap en hoopt zaken te kunnen doen met hem.... ha! ha! ha! ha! Kaag hoopt gewoon dat Biden als de bliksem het TTIP akkoord tekent, zodat ze een meerderheid van het Nederlandse volk dat tegen dit vrijhandelsverdrag is, een reuzenoor kan aannaaien, immers dit verdrag is in het belang van de grote bedrijven en niet van de burgers..... Eén en ander door de ISDS clausule in dit verdrag, daarmee zullen landen als Nederland niet langer producten uit de VS kunnen weigeren als deze een gevaar zijn voor de volksgezondheid, vergeet niet dat dit nu al is toegestaan: er worden hier levensmiddelen als groente en fruit verkocht die behandeld zijn met een gif dat hier al lang en breed is verboden...... ISDS staat voor een geheime rechtbank waar bedrijven landen kunnen aanklagen voor het weigeren van hun producten..... Bestaande handelsverdragen met zo'n rechtbank laten zien dat de bedrijven in 99% van de gevallen in het gelijk worden gesteld.... Geheime rechtbanken daar het publiek niet mag weten welk bedrijf zo smerig bezig is, immers daarop zou dat publiek kunnen besluiten die producten te boycotten......

'Terug naar Washington': Paul Bril, die volgens eigen zeggen jaren in de VS heeft gewoond stelde vanmorgen op BNR na 8.00 u. dat Capitol Hill gewijde grond is..... ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja 'gewijde grond' waar beslissing werden en worden genomen die miljoenen mensen het leven hebben gekost en kosten, in de eerste plaats de levens van de oorspronkelijke bevolking van het VS gebied in Noord-Amerika die met een genocide bijna werden uitgeroeid.... 'Gewijde grond......'

Onbegrijpelijk dat e.e.a. heeft kunnen gebeuren in Washington zeker daar Trump zoals gezegd, al in december zijn aanhang opriep om 6 januari naar Washington te komen (de dag dat het congres Biden zou aanwijzen als opvolger van hem)... Hoe is het mogelijk dat deze gewelddadige demonstranten zelfs het Capitol konden binnendringen??? Heeft dit wellicht te maken met politie en troepen van de Nationale Garde die een machtsoverdracht onmogelijk willen maken?? Het ziet er niet naar uit dat politie en leger pal achter Trump staan en het mogelijk zouden maken dat Biden niet kan aantreden als president, maar je weet maar nooit, pas de 20ste van deze maand is de officiële machtsoverdracht.... Een burgeroorlog zou lullig genoeg een zegen zijn voor een groot aantal landen waar de VS de beest uithangt, immers er zullen dan echt veel troepen terug worden geroepen naar de VS, zoals Trump beloofde bij zijn aantreden, maar waar weinig van terecht is gekomen. Eén ding is zeker: een burgeroorlog in de VS dichterbij dan ooit sinds de laatste 155 jaar........

Overigens dient nog opgemerkt worden dat in het hieronder opgenomen bericht van Caitlin Johnstone een video is opgenomen waarin te zien is hoe de politie de hekken opent voor de gewelddadige demonstranten........

Misschien wel de meest belachelijke uitspraak kwam van Boris Johnson, de uiterst kwaadaardige Britse premier, deze stelde dat de gebeurtenissen in Washington beschamend zijn, terwijl de VS staat voor het brengen van democratie over de wereld.... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Democratie brengen middels bommen en granaten, waarna een democratie zelfs verder weg is dan ooit tevoren!! Niet voor niets dat de VS het zo goed kan vinden met dictators, neem Saoedi-Arabië dat met hulp van de VS een genocide uitvoert in Jemen en dat bijna alle moslim terreurgroepen steunt, inclusief ISIS..... Iets waar de VS overigens volledig aan meewerkt, zo beschermt de VS diverse terreurgroepen in het gebied dat het in Syrië illegaal bezet houdt, een belangrijk gebied voor dat land omdat er veel olie wordt gewonnen (het land moet heropgebouwd worden vanwege de door de VS georganiseerde oorlog, dus elke cent is nodig), naast Al Qaida en minder bekende terreurgroepen zijn daar ook een groot aantal ISIS strijders die (nogmaals) worden beschermd door de VS.......

George W. Bush stelde in een reactie dat het gebeuren in Washington thuishoort in een bananenrepubliek.... Een bananenrepubliek waarvoor o.a. hijzelf de fundamenten heeft gelegd!!

In het volgende artikel merkt Caitlin Johnstone o.a. volkomen terecht op dat de VS nu een koek van eigen deeg krijgt, ook al is de machtsoverdracht bijna niet te voorkomen door Trump en zijn misdadige administratie, die overigens deels tegen de gewelddadige demonstranten is...... MSM Already Using Capitol Hill Riot To Call For More Internet Censorship

The United States received a very small taste of its own medicine today as rioting Trump fanatics temporarily forced their way into the nation's Capitol building, and now the whole nation is freaking out.

I am being generous when I say that America was given a very small taste of its own medicine; unlike the horrific coups and violent uprisings the US routinely orchestrates in noncompliant nations around the world, this one stood exactly zero chance of seizing control of the government, and only one person died.

I am also being generous when I say the rioters "forced their way" in; DC chose not to increase its police presence in preparation for the protests despite knowing that they were planned, and there's footage of what appears to be cops actively letting them through a police barricade. There was some fighting between police and protesters, but contrasted with the militarized squadron which greeted Black Lives Matter demonstrators at the same building a few months prior it's fair to say the police response today was relatively gentle.

Just as predictably, it's also got them calling for the censorship of social media.

The New York Times has published two new articles titled "The storming of Capitol Hill was organized on social media" and "Violence on Capitol Hill Is a Day of Reckoning for Social Media", both arguing for more heavy-handed restrictions on speech from Silicon Valley tech giants.

In the former, NYT's Sheera Frenkel writes "the violence Wednesday was the result of online movements operating in closed social media networks where people believed the claims of voter fraud and of the election being stolen from Mr. Trump," citing the expert analysis of think tank spinmeister Renee DiResta of "Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian asset" fame. As usual no mention is made of DiResta's involvement in the New Knowledge scandal in which a Russian interference "false flag" was staged for an Alabama Senate race.

“These people are acting because they are convinced an election was stolen,” DiResta said. “This is a demonstration of the very real-world impact of echo chambers.”

“This has been a striking repudiation of the idea that there is an online and an offline world and that what is said online is in some way kept online,” DiResta adds.

This narrative which seeds the idea that unregulated communication on the internet will lead to violent uprisings is funny coming from Frankel, who, as a Twitter follower recently observed, wrote a piece in 2018 condemning the Iranian government for restricting protesters' social media access during the demonstrations at that time.

"Social media and messaging apps have become crucial to antigovernment demonstrators around the world, as a means of both organizing and delivering messages to other citizens," Frankel wrote. "Not surprisingly, restricting access to such technology has become as important to government crackdowns as the physical presence of the police."

In the other article, co-authored by Frankel, Mike Isaac and Kate Conger, the message is driven home even less subtly.

"As pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday and halted the certification of Electoral College votes, the role of social media companies such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube in spreading misinformation and being a megaphone for Mr. Trump came under renewed criticism," reads the article, adding, "So when violence broke out in Washington on Wednesday, it was, in the minds of longtime critics, the day the chickens came home to roost for the social media companies."

The article reports on the US president's temporary suspension of social media privileges for allegedly inciting violence with his posts, then discusses the various kinds of disinformation and violent ideation being circulated in Trump discussion forums.

"Those alternative social media sites were rife with Trump supporters organizing and communicating on Wednesday," NYT tells us. "On Parler, one trending hashtag was #stormthecapitol. Many Trump supporters on the sites also appeared to believe a false rumor that Antifa, a left-wing movement, was responsible for committing violence at the protests."

“We know the social media companies have been lackadaisical at best” at stopping extremism from growing on their platforms, Jonathan Greenblatt, director of the Anti-Defamation League, told NYT. “Freedom of expression is not the freedom to incite violence. That is not protected speech.”

We will likely see many more such articles in the coming days, arguing for increased regulation of internet communication to prevent future incidents like today.

In and of itself this won't sound terribly concerning to the average citizen. Nothing wrong with taking steps to prevent people from plotting violence and terrorism on social media, right?

But how do you predict what protests are going to be "violent"? How do you decide which protests and what political dissent need to be censored and which ones should be permitted to communicate freely? Do you just leave it up to Silicon Valley oligarchs to make the call? Or do you have them consult with the government like they've been doing? Are either of these institutions you'd trust to regulate what protests are worthy of being permitted to organize online?

Because the actual power structures in the United States seem to be interested in simply censoring the internet to eliminate political dissent altogether.

In 2017 top officials from Facebook, Twitter and Google were brought before the Senate Judiciary Committee and admonished to come up with policies that will "prevent the fomenting of discord" in the United States.

World Socialist Website reported the following in 2017.

Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii demanded, for her part, that the companies adopt a “mission statement” expressing their commitment “to prevent the fomenting of discord.”

The most substantial portion of the testimony took place in the second part of the hearing, during which most of the Senators had left and two representatives of the US intelligence agencies testified before a room of mostly empty chairs.

Clint Watts, a former U.S. Army officer, former FBI agent, and member of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, made the following apocalyptic proclamation: “Civil wars don’t start with gunshots, they start with words. America’s war with itself has already begun. We all must act now on the social media battlefield to quell information rebellions that can quickly lead to violent confrontations and easily transform us into the Divided States of America.”

He added, “Stopping the false information artillery barrage landing on social media users comes only when those outlets distributing bogus stories are silenced—silence the guns and the barrage will end.”

That sounds an awful like government officials and operatives telling social media corporations that it's their job to censor communication which could facilitate any kind of unrest, no matter how justified.

Do you trust these monopolistic megacorporations to decide whether or not people's dissident speech is acceptable? I don't.
