Caitlin Johnstone plaatste gisteren een artikel over de keus van de Trump administratie voor VS ambassadeur bij de VN Veiligheidsraad, nu oorlogshitser, pathologische leugenaar en psychopaat Nikki Haley.

De keus is gevallen op Heather Nauert, voormalig Fox presentator en huidig woordvoerder van het VS ministerie van buitenlandse zaken. Een neoliberale ploert die niet onderdoet voor haat- en angstzaaier Haley, zoals ze bij Fox en in haar functie als buitenlandse zaken woordvoerder al voldoende heeft laten zien.

Ongelofelijk, de reacties op het vertrek van Haley, als betrof het een groot bewindspersoon, i.p.v. een oorlogshoer, die ziel en zaligheid heeft verkocht aan de duivel genaamd militair-industrieel complex, een duivel die zoveel mogelijk oorlog en ellende wil zien op de wereld, een duivel aan wie de VS jaarlijks honderden miljarden dollars belastinggeld offert...........

Johnstone gaat o.a. in op de kritiek als zou Nauert elke ervaring missen om te fungeren als ambassadeur bij de VN, waar Johnsone betoogt dat Nauert niet onderdoet voor leugenaar en oorlogshitser Haley.

When UN Ambassador Nikki Haley announced her upcoming resignation from the position, establishment loyalists spent the day awash with grief that the Trump administration was losing one of its remaining moderate Republican voices.

“Nikki Haley, ambassador to the United Nations, has resigned, leaving the administration with one less moderate Republican voice,” tweeted the New York Times, without defining what specifically is “moderate” about relentlessly pushing for war and starvation sanctions at every opportunity and adamantly defending the slaughter of unarmed Palestinian protesters with sniper fire.

“Too bad Nikki Haley has resigned,” tweeted law professor turned deranged Russia conspiracy theorist Laurence Tribe. “She was one of the last members of Trumplandia with even a smidgen of decency.”

Well I’ve got some good news for those who lamented the loss of a virulent psychopathic war whore as UN ambassador, and bad news for any anti-interventionist Trump voters who’ve been secretly hoping this administration would use Haley’s vacancy to move in a less hawkish direction: you’re getting another one just like her. According to multiple sources, Trump has confirmed early rumors and selected State Department Spokeswoman and former Fox News pundit Heather Nauert as Haley’s replacement.

Trump To Appoint Heather Nauert As U.S. Ambassador To United Nations

The former Fox News host is Trump's pick to replace Nikki Haley.

Ever since rumors emerged of Nauert’s selection for the job last month, the dominant criticisms have been that she lacks “experience” and “qualifications” for the job of US Ambassador to the United Nations. These criticisms have picked up ever since these early rumors were confirmed, and they are illegitimate for two reasons. The first is that a position as Fox News propagandist is very much the sort of experience an American needs to be a UN Ambassador, especially for this administration. The second is that all the job requires is a willingness to sell one’s soul for the promotion of US war agendas, and to occasionally help kick Palestinian human rights further into the gutter than they already are. No experience is required for this, and these are things we already know Nauert could do in her sleep.

As State Department Spokeswoman, Nauert’s messaging has already been moving in lockstep with that of Haley anyway. She speaks about Syria as though it is the property of the United States, routinely warning the Syrian government not to re-take its own land from the western-backed terrorist factions that nearly overran the nation. She regularly promotes the unrest in Iran that the Trump administration has been deliberately attempting to foment with starvation sanctions and CIA covert ops, and helps sell the absolute lie that Iran is “the leading state sponsor of terrorism”. She promotes anti-Venezuela narratives, anti-Russia narratives, anti-North Korea narratives, anti-Houthi narratives, and anti-Palestinian narratives. She’s been at this job since April of last year, and her talking points have consistently mirrored Haley’s.

Nauert is perfectly qualified for the job of UN Ambassador, because all that job requires is being a sociopathic war pig. She’s already been doing that.

All this fuss about Nauert’s “experience” highlights perfectly why Trump’s ostensible opposition has been almost entirely worthless: they don’t focus on any of the evil foreign policy decisions that this administration is actually advancing, because they don’t actually oppose those decisions. They aren’t concerned that Nauert will promote senseless, psychotic acts of military mass murder, they are concerned that she lacks the necessary qualifications to promote it skillfully and professionally. On this matter, as with all matters, Trump’s self-proclaimed “resistance” is perfectly comfortable with the blood-spattered face of world-dominating imperialism. They just want it to go back to smiling and saying things politely.

The problem with most of the opposition to Trump is that they’re not interested in waking up, they’re interested in removing an annoying wrinkle in their bedsheets so that they can go back to sleep. They don’t care about the monstrous acts of violence that are inflicted upon human beings on the other side of the globe in their name, so they focus on irrelevant nonsense like whether or not Heather Nauert is qualified to read from the same imperialist script that was read by Haley, Samantha Power and Susan Rice.

Those who care about reality don’t care about who’s reading from that script. It is the script itself they seek to burn.

Oekraïne kondigt staat van beleg af vanwege 'Russische agressie' in de Zee van Azov

De Oekraïense junta in Kiev zoekt alweer ruzie met Rusland, dit daar de populariteit van deze junta nog nooit zo laag lag (op 8%) en het land failliet is (op de been gehouden met o.a. ons belastinggeld). Bovendien is in veel steden van Oekraïne de verwarming uitgevallen en is er in grote delen van Kiev geen warm water voorhanden en dat bij temperaturen onder nul.......

Om de Russen uit te dagen liet de Oekraïense marine 2 marineschepen en een sleper de Straat van Kertsj binnenvaren, deze Straat is de verbinding tussen de Zwarte Zee en de Zee van Azov. Rusland heeft de controle over de Straat van Kertsj en schepen moeten toestemming vragen aan Rusland om daar doorheen te varen (het gaat hier tenslotte om Russische territoriale wateren)...... 

De bewuste schepen weigerden toestemming te vragen en voeren door (als ik het goed begrepen heb ook nog eens richting een deel van de Zee van Azov dat Rusland uit veiligheidsoverwegingen heeft gesloten voor scheepsverkeer*). Ofwel de neonazi-junta in Kiev heeft doelbewust aangestuurd op een confrontatie met Rusland en deze gekregen.....

Uiteraard waren de NAVO, haar feitelijke baas de VS en de EU er als de kippen bij om hun verontwaardiging uit te spreken...... Dezelfde partijen die er het zwijgen toe doen als terreurgroepen uit Oekraïne tekeergaan met aanslagen in De Krim, hetzelfde geldt voor de Oekraïense bombardementen op steden (een zware oorlogsmisdaad) in het oosten van Oekraïne, waar de bevolking zich volkomen terecht heeft afgescheiden van Oekraïne, nadat de VS middels een gewelddadige opstand de o.a. door de bevolking van Oost-Oekraïne en De Krim democratisch gekozen regering Janoekovytsj heeft afgezet en de uitermate corrupte neonazi-junta Porosjenko heeft geïnstalleerd..... Hoofdverantwoordelijke voor die coup is hare kwaadaardigheid Hillary Clinton, destijds VS minister van buitenlandse zaken...... (e.e.a. heeft de VS 4 miljard dollar gekost**)

Om de boel verder op de spits te drijven heeft juntaleider Porosjenko de staat van beleg afgekondigd..... Twee vliegen in één klap, immers als de staat van beleg van kracht is, kan men verkiezingen uitstellen, zoals de presidentsverkiezingen van 31 maart volgend jaar....... Tevens kan men tijdens de staat van beleg de Oekraïense politici, activisten en andere critici van de Porosjenko neonazi-junta, die terug willen naar de democratie, de mond snoeren..... (op kritiek staat onder de staat van beleg zelfs een gevangenisstraf van 5 jaar...)

Een 'win win situatie' (om een dom cliché aan te halen), immers mocht de junta besluiten de verkiezingen toch door te laten gaan, kan de Porosjenko junta vanwege de staat van beleg alle critici de mond snoeren en hen desnoods gevangen zetten, zoals er nu al veel critici vastzitten....... Waarmee deze mensen en anderen die onder huisarrest staan, de kans wordt ontnomen om campagne te voeren..... Ook de pers is aan banden gelegd in Oekraïne, iets waar je het westen niet over hoort...... Overigens heeft Oekraïne al politieke partijen verboden die achter de vorige wel democratisch verkozen president Janoekovytsj stonden, of andere partijen die vriendschappelijke betrekkingen willen aanknopen met Rusland......

Vergeet niet dat Oekraïne de laatste jaren meermaals marine oefeningen met de VS heeft gehouden, daarbij werden o.a. landingen gesimuleerd op de kust van De Krim...... Hetzelfde schiereiland dat zich op dezelfde gronden als de bewoners van Oost-Oekraïne, in een door internationale waarnemers als goed en eerlijk verlopen referendum afscheidde van Oekraïne en zich aansloot bij Rusland**. Echter volgens de EU, de NAVO-lidstaten en de VS heeft Rusland De Krim geannexeerd, een pertinente leugen die men keer op keer blijft herhalen, ook in de reguliere westerse media, terwijl deze de waarheid dondersgoed kennen, maar door dik en dun de agressie van de VS en haar oorlogshond de NAVO blijven verdedigen als onontkoombare ingrepen......

Zie wat betreft deze agressie alleen al de illegale oorlogen die de VS deze eeuw begon en waarbij intussen bijna 2,5 miljoen mensen werden vermoord, verdedigd door diezelfde reguliere westerse media, waarbij de zogenaamde onafhankelijke reguliere westerse media op grote schaal gebruik maakte en maakt van fake news (nepnieuws)....... Ook bij het door Oekraïne uitgelokte conflict in de Zee van Azov staan deze zogenaamde onafhankelijke media aan de kant van de Oekraïense junta en wordt Rusland agressie verweten.......

De stap van Oekraïne om de staat van beleg af te kondigen komt de VS en de NAVO goed uit, daar die al een paar jaar bezig zijn oorlog te zoeken met Rusland...... Je kan e.e.a. bijvoorbeeld opmaken uit de voortdurende militaire oefeningen van de NAVO langs de westgrens met Rusland...... Zo is nog maar net een grote luchtmachtoefening in Oekraïne afgerond waar de NAVO o.l.v. de VS oefende op een oorlog met Rusland, een oefening die het verlengde was van een marine oefening van de VS en Japan plus de grote NAVO-oefening in Noorwegen, Trident Juncture....... 

Aan de luchtmachtoefening in Oekraïne (dat nog geen NAVO-partner is) deden ook Roemenië en Polen mee, die een 'raketschild van de VS op hun grondgebied hebben, een schild waar de antiraketraketten in een mum van tijd met kernkoppen kunnen worden uitgerust en zo kan de VS het INF-verdrag overtredend, Rusland op zeer korte afstand bestoken met kernraketten.......

Ukraine Declares Martial Law as Tensions With Russia Soar

(ANTIWAR.COM) — Following up on Sunday’s maritime incident in the Sea of Azov, the Ukrainian parliament voted Monday on a declaration of martial law. They are presenting this as a “partial mobilization” of the military as officials hype the possibility of war with Russia.

The martial law will formally begin on Wednesday, and last for 30 days. President Petro Poroshenko said he intends to respect the rights of individual Ukrainian citizens during this period.

Importantly, Ukrainian officials are emphasizing that this move is short of a declaration of war on Russia. On Sunday, officials had said the National Security and Defense Council was meeting and intended to declare a “state of war,” though it does not appear any public declaration happened.

On Sunday, three Ukrainian ships crossed into Russian territorial waters, and were seized. Russia said this area of the Sea of Azov was closed for security reasons. Ukraine is demanding the return of the ships and the sailors. Russia says they are temporarily impounded, and that the three sailors wounded in the incident have already been treated and are in no medical danger.

Russian officials are downplaying the incident as a minor one, while Ukrainian officials are already identifying a series of border areas that they expect ground troops to invade. Ukraine has been predicting a Russian invasion for years.

As is often the case, the US and NATO are embracing the Ukrainian narrative, and condemning Russia. Such condemnations come as a matter of course, but so far, are stopping short of any threats to escalate this militarily into a global war.

US, NATO Slam Russia Over Maritime Dispute With Ukraine

(ANTIWAR.COM) — Sunday’s maritime incident between Russia and Ukraine in the Sea of Azov has led to an emergency NATO meeting and a flurry of condemnations from the US and other member nations against Russia.

On Sunday, Russia seized three Ukrainian navy boats for entering a closed part of the Sea of Azov. Russia said the area was closed as part of a security effort, while Ukraine says the boats did nothing wrong.

At a UN meeting, Ambassador Nikki Haley condemned Russia’s actions as “outrageous,” and said they amounted to a “violation of sovereign Ukrainian territory.” That does not appear to be the case, even in the Ukrainian government’s version of events.

NATO officials also expressed “full support” for Ukraine, and reiterated complaints about the 2014 Crimean secession from Ukraine, and subsequent accession into the Russian Federation.

German officials also issued a statement, saying it was “unacceptable” for Russia to block off its own part of the Sea of Azov, and that they consider the matter worrying.

Nikki Haley treedt terug als VS ambassadeur bij de VN

Mooi nieuws gisteren, toen bekend werd gemaakt dat hare kwaadaardigheid Nikki Haley terugtreedt als ambassadeur bij de VN. Deze duivel draait werkelijk alles om als het over de feiten gaat die de ongebreidelde terreur van de VS, Israël en Saoedi-Arabië in de dagelijkse praktijk laat zien (overigens ook wat betreft andere zaken, maar de genoemde drie zijn wel het belangrijkst).

Nu maar afwachten welke ploert het beest Trump nu weer zal aanstellen als vervanger, die per 1 januari 2019 'in functie' zal treden....... Slechter dan Haley is vrijwel onmogelijk. (althans dat hoop ik toch...)

Daarover gesproken: Trump stelde dat Haley het voor elkaar kreeg dat de VS weer wordt gerespecteerd...... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Met 'gerespecteerd' bedoelt het beest bang zijn voor de VS en daar hebben de landen waar de VS de pik op heeft, alle redenen toe, echter dat is bepaald niet alleen de 'verdienste van Haley of Trump. 

Met leugens en/of false flag operaties heeft de VS al sinds WOII (en zelfs nog ver daarvoor, maar laat ik me beperken tot het einde van WOII) illegale oorlogen gevoerd tegen landen die in de verste verte geen partij zijn voor de VS, dit nog naast de geheime militaire operaties die de VS (volkomen illegaal) uitvoert waar het maar uitkomt...... Verder is daar nog het organiseren van opstanden en coups in diverse buitenlanden van de VS..... Dan het feit dat de VS met drone-terreur al duizenden mensen heeft vermoord, voor meer dan 90% overigens niet eens verdachte personen, dus veelal vrouwen en kinderen...... Om nog maar te zwijgen over het ontvoeren, martelen en gijzelen van verdachten door de VS (CIA).......

Sinds WOII heeft de VS intussen al meer dan 22 miljoen mensen vermoord.......

(ZHE) — Update (11:00 am ET): During their joint press conference, Trump offered effusive praise of Haley, saying she earned the respect of foreign diplomats during her time as UN ambassador. He added that “maybe” she will be coming back at some point, and that she could have “her pick” of jobs in the administration.

When her turn came, Haley praised the administration’s “follow-through” on its foreign policy aims and her success in cutting $1.3 billion from the UN budget.

“countries may not like what we do but they respect what we do. They know that if we say we’re going to do something we follow it through.”

In a recap of her stint as UN ambassador, Haley praised Trump’s decision to move the US embassy in Israelfrom Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, saying “we will put our embassy where we want to put our embassy.”

She also offered praise for other senior administration figures, including Jared and Ivanka, claiming that Jared was a “hidden genius” for his work on the revamped Nafta deal (now officially known as USMCA).

Before leaving her position at the end of the year, Haley said she hopes to make sure “everything is in the right place” for when the next ambassador arrives. And while she “doesn’t have anything set” on what she’s doing next, she did confirm that “no I will not be running in 2020” adding that she’s a “believer in term limits” and wants to give “someone else a shot.”

When reporters pressed her about her reasons for leaving, Haley denied that she was leaving for “personal reasons” and reiterated her claim that she felt it was time to “step aside” and that “the truth is I want to make sure this administration has the strongest person to fight.”

When reporters reverted to questioning Trump, the president said his administration had avoided serious foreign policy pitfalls – like the outbreak of a hot war with North Korea – that many of Trump’s critics had warned would be all but inevitable should he set foot in the Oval Office.

“Look at North Korea, it was a potentially devastating problem and now it’s looking very good.”

Haley, Trump said, played an important role in reestablishing international respect for the US.

“We are respected again – that I can tell you. Very much respected again. Even if you look at the votes in the United Nations – where we would normally get no votes we are getting very strong votes now.”

He added that the way in which Haley is leaving her position is “the right way to do it.”

“It’s a great position – I think she’s helped make it a much better position. I think it’s become a more glamorous position than it was a few years ago. She’s made it a more important position. So I can say we have very many people who want to do it and they are very good people.”

Trump also revealed that ‘we’re talking about three or four different locations’ for the upcoming summit with North Korea, adding that he’d love to remove sanctions but that “we have to get something.” “Eventually we’ll have meetings on US soil and on their soil also.

“I think North Korea is going to be a very economically successful country. Banks are calling they’re wanting to go there…and that’s one of the reasons we’re having very successful conversations.”

Asked about the timeline for naming a successor to Haley, Trump said he expects to appoint someone within the next “two or three weeks.” Asked about the missing Saudi journalist, Trump said he knows “nothing” about the situation but that he would be asking the Saudis for more information.

Unable to restrain himself from taking a shot at his former rival Hillary Clinton, Trump answered a question about Hillary Clinton’s warnings on how to handle Saudi Arabia with “I guess that’s why she lost.” Meanwhile, Trump said Pompeo’s latest meeting with China (a meeting that ended in a dramatic public confrontation) went “very well.”

Turning to the often uncomfortable subject of the timing of a US-China trade deal, Trump insisted that “China wants to make a deal, but they’re not ready yet. That’s why I’ve canceled a couple of meetings.”

After a few more kind words for Haley, the president wrapped up the press conference.

While Trump says he’s sad to see Haley go, at least one person is excited by the news.

Update (10:40 am ET): Trump has confirmed to a reporter that Haley will be leaving her post at the end of the year, saying only that she wants to “take a break” and that “we hate to lose her”. The president reportedly said he will pick Haley’s replacement in “two-three weeks” or “sooner.”

Others are speculating that South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham could soon take a job in the Trump cabinet (possibly attorney general?) after the midterms, allowing Haley to fill his old senate seat.

In a statement to reporters, Haley said her experience as UN ambassador has been “the honor of a lifetime” and that the US would put its embassy where it wants and that “there are a number of people who would like to do this…it is a much more glamorous position than it was a few years ago.”

Two weeks after President Trump issued another fiery rebuke of globalism, the United Nations and its attendant institutions during his second speech before the UN General Assembly, Axios is reporting that the president has accepted the resignation of UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Haley, the former governor of South Carolina who has been with the administration since the beginning, reportedly discussed her resignation with Trump during a visit to the White House last week. Her desire to leave her post apparently shocked several senior administration officials. Haley was an early and frequent critic of then-candidate Trump before she conceded and joined his administration.

Haley refused to comment on reports of her resignation after walking by a group of reporters in the West Wing.

But in what appeared to be a confirmation of the report, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Haley would make an appearance with Trump in the Oval Office at 10:30 am ET. The event will be open to the press pool.

Most recently, Haley oversaw the US’s withdrawal from a UN human rights council over its “chronic bias against Israel.”

“I want to make it crystal clear that this step is not a retreat from human rights commitments,” Haley said at the time. “On the contrary, we take this step because our commitment does not allow us to remain a part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights.”

At one point, Haley was rumored to be a top pick to replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State – a job that ultimately went to Secretary Mike Pompeo. Media reports detailed a fraught relationship between Haley and Tillerson as they jockeyed to be the face of the administration’s foreign policy. Tillerson’s aides reportedly asked her to pre-clear any public remarks with Washington.

While she has mostly avoided conflict with Trump since joining the administration, Trump did accuse her of getting “ahead of the curve” after she said earlier this year that the administration would impose sanctions on Russian companies found to be aiding the Syrian government’s chemical weapons program after a deadly chemical attack in April, as the New York Timesreminds us.

On April 15, Ms. Haley announced that the administration would place sanctions on Russian companies found to be assisting Syria’s chemical weapons program — part of a menu of options to retaliate against a suspected gas attack that killed dozens on April 7. But the next day, the White House announced that Mr. Trump had decided not to go forward with the sanctions, contradicting what Ms. Haley had said. The White House said she had gotten “ahead of the curve.”

She also broke with the administration line when she said last December that women accusing Trump of sexual improprieties deserved “to be heard” and that “they should be dealt with.”

And in December 2017, Ms. Haley said that women who had accused Mr. Trump of sexual misconduct “should be heard,” a surprising break from the administration’s longstanding assertion that the accusations were false and that voters rightly dismissed them when they elected Mr. Trump. “They should be heard, and they should be dealt with,” Ms. Haley told CBS. “And I think we heard from them prior to the election. And I think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up.”

As Axios pointed out, Haley wrote an op-ed last month challenging allegations in the infamous anonymous NYT op-ed alleging that a group of senior administration officials had formed an internal “resistance” movement against Trump to protect the nation from his most dangerous impulses.
