De virtuele oorlog van de VS media en politiek tegen Cuba

Persoonlijk word ik al poepziek als ik weer een wijsneus hoort vertellen dat de Cubaanse economie is kapotgemaakt door het socialistische beleid van de regering, terwijl iedereen kan weten dat de Cubaanse bevolking gebukt gaat onder de smerige unilaterale en daarmee illegale sancties van de VS tegen het land en dat al decennia lang........ Waar fascist Trump daar nog een schep bovenop deed, wat de demente marionet Joe Biden niet terug wenst te draaien.....

De sancties tegen in feite het Cubaanse volk hebben al geleid tot grote tekorten voor het fabriceren van medicijnen en van de import van medicijnen, iets dat de VS als het weer eens illegaal sancties treft tegen een land durft te ontkennen, terwijl de bewijzen van het tegendeel overweldigend zijn, hetzelfde geldt voor voedsel dat ook nooit onder sancties zou vallen...... De diverse tekorten, ook aan medische hulpmiddelen hebben in Venezuela al aan 100.000 mensen het leven gekost, ongetwijfeld zijn ook in Cuba al een fiks aantal ouderen, kleine kinderen en anderszins zwakke mensen overleden t.g.v. die sancties....... Voorts heeft de VS een 5 miljard dollar reserve van Venezuela voor de aankoop van medicijnen en medische apparatuur gestolen.......

De CIA loopt al decennia lang te stoken in Cuba en eindelijk had men dit jaar een beetje succes een paar duizend mensen demonstreerden voor betere leefomstandigheden en een verandering van regime...... Dit protest is in de westerse media helemaal uitgemolken en wel zo dat je zou denken dat het hele Cubaanse volk heeft gedemonstreerd...... De VS media weten echter niet meer van ophouden en uiteraard heeft dat alles met de steenrijke eigenaren van die media te maken, figuren die enorme kapitalen hebben geïnvesteerd in aandelen van de wapenindustrie, de farmaceutische industrie en de oliemaffia..... (zo meer daarover) Kortom men hoopt dat de VS Cuba zal aanvallen en daarvoor wordt flink gelobbyd in de massamedia van de VS.......

Brasscheck TV heeft een gesprek gepubliceerd, waarin de spreker ingaat op de economische situatie van Cuba. Ben het niet met alles eens wat er wordt gezegd, zoals de stelling dat Cuba het beste muziekonderwijs heeft, wat bepaald niet wil zeggen dat dit onderwijs slecht is. Verderop in dit gesprek gaat men ook in op hoe de situatie op Cuba was voor de revolutie van Fidel Castro en zijn kameraden: diepe armoede, geen of amper scholing, honger, slechte behuizing en uitermate slechte gezondheidszorg....... Deze zaken werden na de revolutie aangepakt door het Castro regime: gratis onderwijs, gratis gezondheidszorg (die zonder de sancties tot de beste van de wereld zou horen....) en goede en goedkope huisvesting........

Men start met in te gaan op hoe het de slaven is vergaan op Cuba en de rest van de Caraïben: een veel heftiger repressie tegen de slaven dan bijvoorbeeld in de VS, een toestand die na de afschaffing van de slavernij in feite voortduurde tot de revolutie van Castro.......  

Uiteraard heeft men in het Brasscheck gesprek aandacht voor de illegale sancties van de VS tegen Cuba en de andere vormen van de virtuele oorlog die de VS tegen het land voert...... Nog een feit dat ik niet noemde: niemand in de VS mag zaken doen met Cuba, terwijl de VS het land is dat het dichtst bij Cuba ligt en waarbij dat land in feite afhankelijk is van de VS....

Wat betreft de al eerder aangehaalde demonstraties doen de VS media alsof het hele land in opstand is gekomen, terwijl daar geen bewijzen voor worden gegeven, toch wordt dit keer op keer herhaald..... Men laat de Cubaanse politie zien die demonstranten slaat en arresteert, waarbij de media doen alsof dat nergens anders gebeurt en ook die beelden worden keer op keer herhaald...... Deze demonstraties zijn niet alleen van beperkte omvang, maar zijn ook nog eens één op één ingegeven door de smerige sancties van de VS, waar men zoals gezegd niet over spreekt in de reguliere (massa-) media in de VS (en de rest van het westen....)..... 

Het is duidelijk dat de media in de VS aansturen op een staatsgreep in Cuba (ofwel een militaire aanval van de VS) en doen dat door het volk te hersenspoelen met de continue herhaling van leugens, terwijl de bevolking van Cuba zelfs honger lijdt door de sancties van de VS... Dit alles duidt erop dat men in feite terug wil naar de situatie van voor de revolutie, alleen dan met een neoliberale dictatuur waardoor de VS weer bakken geld kan verdienen over de rug van arme Cubanen...... 

In Venezuela hebben de sancties van de VS, zoals gezegd, intussen al aan meer dan 100.000 mensen het leven gekost en ook daar durven de reguliere media in de VS (en de rest van het westen) te zeggen dat dit ligt aan het economisch beleid van het Maduro regime, terwijl ook Canada, Groot-Brittannië en de EU deze moorddadige illegale sancties steunen....... (en ja dus ook uit naam van het Nederlandse volk.....) 

De steenrijke eigenaren van de westerse media zien zoals eerder gemeld maar al te graag dat het Cubaanse regime als ook dat van Venezuela valt, immers zij zijn grootaandeelhouders van oliemaatschappijen, de mijnbouw, de wapenindustrie (en de farmaceutische industrie..... Vandaar ook de propaganda in die media voor oorlog en verandering van regime (regime change)

De spreker van Brasscheck is geen getalenteerd woordvoerder, echter er wordt wel duidelijk uitgelegd waar het om gaat als je over Cuba en de zogenaamde opstand hebt in dat land (in de links onder de 'video' van Brasscheck o.a. één over de New York Times, waarin men op dit medium zowaar toegeeft dat de sancties tegen Venezuela de economie naar de koten helpt; 'uitzonderingen bevestigen de regel' moet je maar denken.... Obama beambten hebben gelogen over het verblijf van Edward Snowden in Rusland

Uit het boek van Ben Rhodes, de belangrijkste nationale veiligheidsadviseur onder Obama, blijkt dat men keihard heeft gelogen over het verblijf van klokkenluider Edward Snowden in Rusland, waarbij men hem zelfs afschilderde als spion van Moskou en als verrader.

Ben Rhodes is er trots op dat hij de weg van Snowden, via Moskou en Havanna naar Ecuador of Bolivia heeft kunnen blokkeren. Als eerste heeft hij het paspoort van Snowden ingetrokken toen deze op weg was van Hongkong naar Moskou, zodat Snowden niet kon doorreizen en vast kwam te zitten op het vliegveld van Moskou..... 

Ten tweede heeft Rhodes Cuba onder druk gezet Snowden de toegang tot het land te ontzeggen, met de dreiging dat de VS de besprekingen over een betere relatie met Cuba zou afbreken, mocht men Snowden doorgang bieden..... Cuba dat maar al te graag van de VS sancties af wilde, sancties die door Kennedy administratie werden genomen in februari 1962, dus ruim na de machtsovername van Fidel Castro en zijn kameraden, het land bukt onder deze illegale sancties van de VS, illegaal daar hiervoor geen VN resolutie bestond noch bestaat....*) De sancties werden verzwaard onder Trump en Biden weigert zelfs deze verzwaring terug te draaien......

Rhodes en anderen hebben sindsdien Snowden zoals gezegd beschuldigd van spionage en verraad daar hij zijn toevlucht tot Rusland zou hebben gezocht.....

Terecht stelt Glenn Greenwald in het hieronder opgenomen artikel dat ook gezien deze zaak de sociopathie van de VS geen grenzen kent (waar ik liever het woord psychopathie zou willen gebruiken)

Lees het artikel van Greenwald en zegt het voort, je kan er op wachten dat de reguliere westerse media, die volop hebben meegewerkt aan de demonisering van Snowden, geen aandacht aan de bewuste passage in het boek van Rhodes zullen besteden, daarmee ze hiermee zichzelf te kijk zullen zetten als onkundig en partijdig...... Onkundig daar men niet heeft gezocht naar de redenen waarom Snowden in Rusland is gebleven en partijdig daar men hem inderdaad heeft beticht van spionage en verraad en ook dat zonder enig onderzoek.......

Rhodes is nogal trots op wat hij heeft bereikt in zijn leven, echter met zijn handelen heeft hij voorkomen dat Snowden al vast zou zitten in de VS, daar Ecuador hem op zeker zou hebben uitgeleverd en dat geldt ook voor Bolivia, waar de hysterische reli-fascistische juntaleider Jeanine Añez**, die door ingrijpen van de CIA en de Organisatie van Amerikaanse Staten (OAS) aan de macht kwam in dat land, Snowden ook zou hebben uitgeleverd......

Ben Rhodes' Book Proves Obama Officials' Lies, and His Own, About Edward Snowden and Russia

It is hard to overstate the sociopathy of US national security officials: their casual willingness to blatantly lie about the gravest matters is limitless.

Ever since Edward Snowden received asylum from Russia in 2013, Obama officials have repeatedly maligned his motives and patriotism by citing his "choice” to take up residence there. It has long been clear that this narrative was a lie: Snowden, after meeting with journalists in Hong Kong, intended only to transit through Moscow and then Havana on his way to seek asylum in Latin America. He was purposely prevented from leaving Russia — trapped in the Moscow airport — by the very Obama officials who then cynically weaponized his presence there to imply he was a civil-liberties hypocrite for “choosing” to live in such a repressive country or, even worse, a Kremlin agent or Russian spy.

But now we have absolute, definitive proof that Snowden never intended to stay in Russia but was deliberately prevented from leaving by the same Obama officials who exploited the predicament which they created. The proof was supplied unintentionally in the memoir of one of Obama's senior national security advisers, Ben Rhodes, entitled The World as It Is: A Memoir of the Obama White House. It is hard to overstate how dispositively Rhodes’ own book proves that Obama officials generally, and Rhodes specifically, lied blatantly and cavalierly to the public about what happened: a level of sustained and conscious lying that can be explained only by sociopathy.

                

The memoir of Rhodes, now appropriately an MSNBC contributor, is an incredibly self-serving homage to himself that repeatedly attempts to demonstrate his own importance and accomplishments. The passage about Rhodes’ conduct regarding Snowden is very much aligned with those goals. While repeatedly emphasizing how traumatic the Snowden revelations were for the Obama administrations, Rhodes boasts of the crucial role he played in preventing Snowden from leaving Russia as the NSA whistleblower was desperately attempting to do so — exactly the opposite of what people like Rhodes and Hillary Clinton were telling the public about Snowden.

It is really beyond words how willing these people are to lie. One chapter of Rhodes’ book is devoted to the Obama administration's efforts to normalize relations with Cuba. Rhodes explains that the deep distrust between the countries that had endured for decades began to subside due to two events which he helped engineer. The first was the two countries’ agreement to improve the prison conditions for two prisoners: an American imprisoned by Cuba, the other a Cuban imprisoned by the U.S. The second even "more important signal” sent by Cuba showing its genuine desire to improve relations was their capitulation to Rhodes’ threats that they had better withdraw the permission they had granted Snowden to allow him to pass through Havana once he left the Moscow airport as planned, on his way to Latin America where he intended to seek asylum.

In other words, Rhodes — who has spent years insinuating that Snowden is a Russian spy and traitor given his "choice” to flee to Russia — knew in real time that Snowden never planned to stay even one day in Russia. He had only flown to Moscow from Hong Kong with the intent to immediately fly from Moscow to Havana, and then on to either Ecuador or Bolivia to obtain asylum. Prior to landing in Moscow, Snowden and his representatives had secured a commitment from the Cuban government to allow him safe passage through Havana on his way to South America.

The only reason Snowden is in Russia is because of the actions of Rhodes and his fellow Obama officials to deliberately trap him there: first by invalidating his passport so that he could not board any international flights, and then by threatening the Cuban government that any chance for normalization with the U.S. would be permanently destroyed unless they withdrew their guarantee to Snowden of safe passage through Havana, which they then did. Here's Rhodes in his own words, boasting about what he regards as his success:

There was one other, more important signal. Around the time of our second meeting, Edward Snowden was stuck in the Moscow airport, trying to find someone who would take him in. Reportedly, he wanted to go to Venezuela, transiting through Havana, but I knew that if the Cubans aided Snowden, any rapprochement between our countries would prove impossible. I pulled Alejandro Castro aside and said I had a message that came from President Obama. I reminded him that the Cubans had said they wanted to give Obama “political space” so that he could take steps to improve relations. “If you take in Snowden,” I said, “that political space will be gone.” I never spoke to the Cubans about this issue again. A few days later, back in Washington, I woke up to a news report: “Former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden got stuck in the transit zone of a Moscow airport because Havana said it would not let him fly from Russia to Cuba, a Russian newspaper reported.” I took it as a message: The Cubans were serious about improving relations.

Could this admission be any clearer? From the very beginning, Obama officials including Rhodes knew that Snowden had not traveled to Russia with the intention of staying there, but instead was — in Rhodes’ own words — "stuck in the Moscow airport” and was “trying to find someone who would take him in.” (Leave aside Rhodes’ other lie that Snowden intended to "go to Venezuela”; the NSA whistleblower's plan was to travel from Moscow through Havana to Bolivia or Ecuador, but Rhodes, knowing how Americans view Caracas, purposely replaced Venezuela as the intended destination to further impugn Snowden's motives). Rhodes then tells us how proud he is of himself for having successfully bullied Cuba out of allowing Snowden to fly through Havana as he intended, thus — in Rhodes’ own words — causing "Snowden [to] get stuck in the transit zone of a Moscow airport."

And yet, countless Obama officials — including, most amazingly, Rhodes himself — have spent years lying to the public by claiming exactly the opposite. Over and over, they impugned Snowden's patriotism and strongly implied he was a Russian spy and a traitor as evidenced by his "choice” to go to Russia. As but one example, listen to the player embedded below to hear what Rhodes told his fellow former Obama national security official Tommy Vietor in February of 2017, on Vietor's Pod Save America program (where Rhodes is now also a co-host). For a full hour, Rhodes impugned Snowden's patriotism and motives, repeatedly citing his choice to flee to Russia as his primary proof (along with the fact that Snowden went to meet with journalists in "China” — by which Rhodes means Hong Kong):

Cause again like, a whistleblower doesn't conspicuously pass through China to Russia, you know, reporters are always saying 'Are you telling me that you know that he was working for the Russians?', or what have you, I'm like, I'm not, I'm telling you what I see, which is this guy went to China and Russia, the two most adversarial intelligence competitors to the United States; he could've gone to some very liberal European country that probably would've taken him in, or he could have faced the music here; the choice of those destinations speaks volumes.

Does lying get any more flagrant or deliberate than this? Rhodes knows for certain that what he's saying here about Snowden is an absolute lie. He knows that Snowden did not "choose” Russia as his "destination.” He knows that Snowden did exactly what Rhodes said he should have done: sought refuge in other countries. He knows that the only reason Snowden is in Russia is because Rhodes himself trapped him there by preventing him from leaving. We know that Rhodes knows all of this because he boasted about all of it in his book, in the above-quoted passage. And yet, over and over, Rhodes told the public the exact opposite of what he knew to be the truth.

As indicated, Rhodes was far from alone in knowingly disseminating this lie to the American public. In 2014, Hillary Clinton, in a Guardian interview, condemned Snowden by falsely claiming that he flew from Hong Kong to Russia with the intention of seeking asylum from Putin. Listen to her flagrantly lie:

From the perspective of the twenty-four-hour news cycle, this may not be the timeliest revelation. But it is only within the last several days that I read Rhodes’ book and could barely believe how clearly he laid out his own lies and those of his Obama administration colleagues. This level of conscious lying — spending years implying that Snowden was a traitor or Russian spy because he fled to Russia when you know that he wanted to leave and did everything possible to do so but it was your actions that trapped him there against his wishes — requires an unlimited willingness to lie the moment one's interests are served by doing so.

We do not usually have a case where the evidence of lying is this conclusive — where it is offered by the liars in the first place — but this behavior is far from uncommon. This is what the National Security State of the U.S. breeds, and it is vital always to remember that when listening to these people speak.

De grote meerderheid van de bevolking behoort tot de oorspronkelijke bewoners van Bolivia, die voor het eerst sinds de katholieke kolonisatie van het land werd bestuurd door een president die tot hun bevolkingsgroep behoorde, t.w. Evo Morales en dat stak het andere deel van het volk, plus de VS daar Morales een socialist is....... Uiteraard staat de oorspronkelijke bevolking achter Morales en Luis Arce diens opvolger ook behorend tot MAS, de partij van Morales, de partij die na de verbanning van Morales de verkiezingen in 2020 won. CODEPINK is een petitie begonnen tegen de VS blokkade* voor Cuba, waarbij men de situatie bekijkt vanuit Cubaanse vrouwen, daar zij het hardst lijden onder deze inhumane en illegale blokkade..... Daarvoor gebruikt het CODEPINK team een onlangs uitgebracht rapport van Oxfam, waarin o.a. valt te lezen dat deze vrouwen de zwaarste last van deze blokkade moeten dragen dit dooor het dagelijks zorgen voor het doorgaan van het huiselijk leven te midden van een tekort aan van alles, waardoor de stress van deze vrouwen oploopt en de kwaliteit van hun leven achteruit kachelt tezamen met de ontplooiingsmogelijkheden in het leven......

Ongelofelijk maar een feit: i.p.v. het terugdraaien van deze belachelijke sancties van de Trump administratie, sancties die deze administratie zonder reden heeft opgelegd aan het volk van Cuba, laat de Biden administratie deze sancties intact dit met steun van het grote inhumane, neoliberale smaldeel van de Democratische Partij........ Sterker nog: Joe Biden heeft het land bovenop de al 243 nieuwe sancties waarmee fascist Trump het Cubaanse volk heeft getroffen, de laatste weken het land extra sancties opgelegd, daarmee nog eens aangevend dat er ook wat betreft het grootste deel van het VS buitenlandbeleid niets is veranderd vergeleken met dat van de (Republikeinse) Trump administratie.... (ook Trump wilde bijvoorbeeld de troepen terughalen uit Afghanistan)

Zelfs het sturen van geld aan familieleden op Cuba is onderdeel van deze sancties ofwel: verboden (!!!) en dat tijdens de Coronacrisis die Cuba hard zou hebben getroffen..... Ter verduidelijking: door de sancties is er een groot tekort ontstaan aan medicijnen en grondstoffen voor het fabriceren van medicijnen, dit terwijl terreurstaat VS telkens weer liegt dat voedsel, medicijnen en medische apparaten nooit onder sancties vallen die het instelt tegen landen die niet braaf aan haar psychopathische hand wensen te lopen, echter dit gebeurt wel degelijk en daarvoor is een overweldigend aantal bewijzen voorradig...... Zo heeft de VS een tegoed van het Venezolaanse volk voor medicijnen en medische apparatuur in de VS gestolen, het gaat daarbij om een bedrag van 5 miljard dollar!! De illegale sancties van de VS met steun van Canada, Groot-Brittannië en de EU hebben intussen aan meer dan 100.000 Venezolaanse mensen het leven gekost........ 

Deze sancties van de VS zijn óók in het geval van Cuba een grove schending van mensenrechten en een misdaad tegen de menselijkheid!! Misdaden waarmee de VS intussen al een aanzienlijk archief heeft gevuld, en dan nog durft het geteisem aan de top, zoals Biden en VS minister van BuZa Blinken, andere landen de les te lezen over mensenrechtenschendingen........

De petitie is gericht aan 3 vooraanstaande leden van de Democratische Partij: hare truttigheid Jill Biden, hare kwaadaardigheid Kamala Harris en hare hufterigheid Nancy Pelosi. Maar wat maakt 't uit? Als deze 'dames' de sancties tegen Cuba weten op te heffen, is alles wat dat tot stand kan brengen wat mij betreft oké. Wij kunnen deze petitie ook tekenen, dus doen ajb en geeft het door, de inhumane en schunnige (illegale) sancties van de VS tegen Cuba, nu in feite al 53 jaar bestaand, moeten eindelijk worden gestopt!

The U.S. embargo on Cuba is causing great harm to Cuban women who are simply trying to feed and protect their families during a terrible pandemic. A recent report by Oxfam shows that women in Cuba carry the heaviest burden of sustaining daily life and that the U.S. embargo causes material shortages, increases their stress, lowers their quality of life, and limits their opportunities.  

Yet instead of working to ease the embargo, the Biden administration and many Democrats seem content to maintain Trump’s cruel policy of maximum pressure, including restrictions on even sending remittances back home. Imagine the U.S. government telling Cuban Americans that they are not allowed to send money to their relatives in Cuba who are coping with a pandemic? It’s disgraceful. 

The Trump administration imposed 243 new sanctions on Cuba, and President Biden himself applied even more sanctions on Cuba in the past weeks. These measures have significantly deepened a Covid-induced economic crisis, leading to shortages and long lines to purchase food and everyday goods. The burden is falling on Cuban women to keep their families fed and healthy. We cannot sit by while U.S. policy, whether implemented by Trump or Biden, causes hardship for millions of Cuban families. 

Ask First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to tell President Biden to follow Obama, not Trump, by lifting restrictions on remittances, travel and other policies that hurt Cuban families.

Why have we focused on these three Democrats? Dr. Jill Biden visited Cuba at the tail end of the Obama administration to deepen ties with the Cuban people as the two countries enjoyed their closest relations in sixty years. Vice President Harris has been focusing on immigration and one of the key demands of Cuban Americans is being able to reunite their families. Speaker Pelosi controls the agenda in Congress and could introduce a bill to end the Trump sanctions.

Since the protests in Cuba on July 11, the White House and many powerful Democrats have been too eager to appease right-wing Cuban Americans. Instead of listening to Trump’s base, they should listen to their own base and the vast majority of Americans who are against the embargo and supported the Obama administration’s approach of normalizing relations with Cuba. Most importantly, they should place the well-being of Cuban women and families above domestic electoral politics. 

Tell Jill Biden, Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi to help lift the embargo and let Cuba live!

It’s disappointing that these powerful women haven’t spoken up in defense of Cuban families. In the case of Speaker Pelosi, she actually blocked an amendment that would have lifted the Trump ban on remittances! En terzijde: 'Venezuela: geen westerse media aandacht voor proces tegen een geheim agent van de VS' (en zie de links in dat bericht naar meer artikelen over Venezuela)

Je zou de regering niet moeten vertrouwen, zeker niet als er commentaar wordt geleverd op de sociale media

Je wordt al doodziek (althans ik) als je VVD premier Rutte weer eens een lam excuus hoort geven voor de weet ik veel hoeveelste blunder die hij heeft begaan, zoals: "Dansen met Janssen"*. Misschien wel erger is de dooddoener van Rutte die hij geeft als hij voor de duizendste keer is betrapt op liegen of een andere manier van bedrog, in de trant van: 'daar heb ik geen weet (meer) van', waarmee hij nogmaals keihard staat te liegen...... Denk je bijvoorbeeld werkelijk dat Rutte pas in de zomer van 2019 hoorde of het kinderopvangtoeslagschandaal?' Uiteraard niet, er was al in 2014, 2015 ophef over deze zaak!! 

Moet je nagaan: deze VVD schoft (en leden van zijn afbraakkabinet) durft de vuilbek open te doen over censuur op de sociale media, daar er 'nep nieuws' (fake news) zou worden gemaakt, ofwel gelogen nieuws...... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Waar haalt deze aartsleugenaar het gore lef vandaan??!!!

Caitlin Johnstone heeft een artikel geschreven over dit onderwerp maar dan met de VS als voorbeeld, de VS de grootste terreurentiteit ter wereld. Zij stelt in de kop al dat er niet van je verwacht wordt dat je de regering vertrouwt. Met een aantal voorbeelden geeft ze aan waar de schoen van de VS politiek wringt en die knelt net zo hard als die van Rutte en zijn flutkabinetten Rutte 1, 2 en 3, waaraan straks godbetert nog een vierde kabinet Rutte wordt toegevoegd........

De Biden administratie wil dat de grote sociale media platforms nog meer censuur doorvoeren, zodat men niet kan zeggen dat de Biden administratie censuur heeft opgelegd, immers dat hoort thuis in een dictatuur >> men liegt de bevolking van de VS niet voor niets continu voor dat men in de 'beste democratie ter wereld' leeft...... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Volkomen terecht dan ook dat Caitlin stelt dat je je moet voorstellen dat de Trump administratie dit zou hebben geflikt, de wereld zou te klein zijn geweest voor de verontwaardiging onder de hypocriete neoliberale top van de Democraten in de VS...... Ook daarbij geeft ze een aantal voorbeelden van wat de Trump administratie niet meer zou willen zien op die sociale media: zoals nieuws over de gebeurtenissen die zich op 6 januari van dit jaar voltrokken op Capitol Hill...... 

Een goede zaak dat Caitlin ook aandacht schenkt aan de wurgende blokkade en illegale unilaterale sancties van de VS tegen Cuba; illegaal daar deze sancties zoals gewoonlijk niet worden gesteund door een VN resolutie als de VS ze instelt tegen een haar onwelgevallig land..... Voorts vestigt Caitlin aandacht op de manipulatie door de zittende administraties in de VS van linkse progressieve groepen waar deze zich laten opzetten tegen gelijkgestemden, waardoor echt links VS is verzand in marginale groepen die politiek geen rol kunnen spelen......

I still can't get over how brazen the Biden administration is being in just announcing that it's their place to determine who should be banned from social media platforms and how little backlash there is against this.

Just imagine the outrage if Trump had done this. Seriously, imagine it. The Biden administration instructing the world's largest social media platform who to censor is the biggest "Imagine if Trump had done that" moment so far.

They said we need internet censorship because of Russia.

They said we need internet censorship because of Covid.

They said we need internet censorship because of election security.

They said we need internet censorship because of the Capitol riot.

They said we need internet censorship because of domestic extremism.

Pretty sure they just want internet censorship.

The US government is without exception the single most corrupt and destructive force on this planet. They are the very last institution on earth who should be in charge of deciding what online content is true or false. Absolute dead last.

I trust the wisdom of the collective to sort out what's true infinitely more than I trust the wisdom of the US government and Silicon Valley plutocrats to do it for us.

If people think their government is lying to them and trying to hurt them it is entirely the fault of the government and no one else.

You're not supposed to trust the government, and governments aren't supposed to act in a way that requires your trust. If you find yourself ruled by a secretive power structure which demands your blind faith in its righteousness, something has gone horribly wrong.

Perhaps the US could end domestic extremism by switching to governmental policies that don't make everyone want to light the country on fire.

Funny how we all grew up watching movies about evil villains trying to take over the world and kill millions of people and those movies were all made in the nation that is that exact villain except the villain succeeded.

It's fine to think all governments are bad, as long as you're also aware that one of those governments is far, far more powerful and destructive than any of the others and that the behavior of other governments is often a defensive response to the aggressions of the worst one.

If your anti-state commentary doesn't reflect this reality, then it can only ever benefit the agendas of the most powerful and murderous state on the planet. Just firing indiscriminate scattergun criticisms at all states equally only advances US imperialist propaganda agendas.

It seriously seems like half the time a black flag anarchy account shows up in my Twitter notifications it's to promote US imperialist propaganda narratives against Syria, China, Russia etc, and it's like yeah nice anarchy dude, being a pro bono propagandist for the worst government on earth.

Whenever the US empire rolls out a propaganda campaign against a disobedient government, it's impossible to circulate narratives opposing that government without facilitating the US propaganda campaign, and therefore all the deadly agendas that campaign is designed to advance.

Before they launch missiles, they launch propaganda campaigns. Before they wage siege warfare, they wage narrative warfare. You are responsible for the narratives you choose to circulate in the world. You are responsible for choosing to participate in imperialist aggressions.

The US government is waging wars around the world, circling the planet with military bases, ramping up nuclear standoffs and working to destroy any nation which disobeys it, so naturally the news media are urgently warning us about the horrible tyrannical government of Cuba.

The correct answer to "What should be done about Cuba's problems?" is for the US to end the blockade. After that happens the correct answer to "What should be done about Cuba's problems?" is "None of your fucking business."

"I oppose the embargo, but the Cuban regime-"

But-but-but-shhhh. You shush your beautiful mouth. The US government has all the billionaire media outlets in the western world conducting propaganda for it. It doesn't need your help. Just oppose the embargo.

"The embargo isn't why Cuba is poor! It's poor because of communism!"

Okay well if it makes no difference can you please end the embargo?

"Cuba claims it can care for all its people using socialism, yet it experiences poverty when we deliberately impoverish it. Checkmate, commies."

There's no good reason to let the push for a US military intervention in Cuba turn into an ideological debate about socialism versus capitalism when the far stronger argument to be made is that US interventionism is literally always disastrous and literally never helpful.

Imagine how pants-on-head fucking stupid you'd have to be to look at the history of US regime change invasions and then think that would be a wonderful thing for the people of Cuba.

The answer is never, ever, ever, ever US military intervention. Ever. It's ALWAYS the wrong tool for solving ANY problem. You're never going to make things better using something that literally always makes things worse. Amazing this even needs to be said.

The empire's goal is to fracture and neuter the left and carve away class analysis and anti-imperialism from whatever remains until we're nothing but tiny groups of irrelevant assholes arguing about how hard you should punch a TERF.

The ultimate factor in determining what will happen in our world is not control of capital, nor control of government, nor control of resources, nor control of weapons, but control of narrative. See this and you see why governments, plutocrats and media behave the way they do.

And, in the end, it turned out that killing the ecosystem was easier than taking away rich people's rocket money.

Political discussion forums are like a couple bickering about dishes in the sink while trapped in the bedroom of a burning house. Everything is headed for collapse — the ecosystem, capitalism, the US empire — assuming we don't all wipe ourselves out in a nuclear war first.

It's so easy to get lost in the bickering and bullshit. I know I do from time to time. But it just looks so insane when you take a step back and look at the minute nature of the arguments we're having compared to the multiple massive existential crises looming on our horizon.

You'd think this would bring us all together, but instead we're being driven further apart than ever before. Truly, if ever there was an adapt-or-die moment for a species, this is it. We are being asked if we want to wake up and become conscious, or go extinct. That is the issue we should all be looking at, and we should be looking at it together.
