Vorige week donderdag op WDR5 het bericht dat Fridays For Future (FFF) een band die de dag daarop zou optreden tijdens een actiedag van FFF in Hanover te verstaan was gegeven dat het concert van deze band niet door kon gaan daar de witte zangeres van de band, Ronja Maltzahn, een kapsel met dreadlocks heeft......
Volgens FFF werden dreadlocks door slaven gebruikt als teken dat ze werden onderdrukt en dat witte mensen deze onderdrukking niet hebben meegemaakt en zich deze haardracht niet mogen toe-eigenen...... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! De sufferds die zich roomser als de paus gedragen hebben blijkbaar niet door dat witte mensen die dreadlocks dragen juist compassie hebben met gekleurden die nog steeds worden onderdrukt, neem ook het ondemocratische Oekraïne* waar mensen uit Afrika die daar studeerden werd verboden te vluchten en als ze al bij de grens wisten te komen en niet werden tegengehouden door Oekraïense grenswachten, ze ook nog eens door bijvoorbeeld Polen werden geweigerd...... Trouwens je hoeft maar naar de situatie van de gekleurden in de VS te kijken en je weet dat deze mensen nog steeds zwaar worden onderdrukt.......

Origins
Some of the earliest depictions of dreadlocks date back as far as 500 BCE in African civilizations, it was also found in Crete (now part of Greece).[4] Frescoes discovered on the Aegean island of Thera (modern Santorini, Greece) depict individuals with long braided hair or long dreadlocks.[3][4]
In ancient Egypt, examples of Egyptians wearing locked hairstyles and wigs have appeared on bas-reliefs, statuary and other artifacts.[6] Mummified remains of Egyptians with locked wigs have also been recovered from archaeological sites.[7]
During the Bronze Age and Iron Age many peoples in the Near East, Anatolia, Caucasus, East Mediterranean and North Africa such as the Sumerians, Elamites and Ancient Egyptians were depicted in art with braided or plaited hair and beards. However, braids are not dreadlocks, and it is not always possible to tell from these images which are being depicted.[8][9]
Etymology
The history of the name "dreadlocks" is unclear. Some authors said it originated from Rastafarians, who believe they represent a biblical hair style worn as a symbol of devotion by the Nazirites, as described in Numbers 6:1–21.[10]

In Ancient Greece, kouros sculptures from the archaic period depict men wearing dreadlocks.[11][12]
The style was worn by Ancient Christian Ascetics in the Middle East and Mediterranean, and the Dervishes of Islam, among others.[13] Some of the very earliest adherents of Christianity in the Middle East may have worn this hairstyle; there are descriptions of James the Just, first Bishop of Jerusalem, who is said to have worn them to his ankles.[14]
Pre-Columbian Aztec priests were described in Aztec codices (including the Durán Codex, the Codex Tudela and the Codex Mendoza) as wearing their hair untouched, allowing it to grow long and curl around itself.[15] Bernal Diaz del Castillo records:
here were priests with long robes of black cloth ... The hair of these priests was very long and so knotted that it could not be separated or disentangled, and most of them had their ears scarified, and their hair was clotted with blood.
In Senegal, the Baye Fall, followers of the Mouride movement, a Sufi movement of Islam founded in 1887 AD by Shaykh Aamadu Bàmba Mbàkke, are famous for growing dreadlocks and wearing multi-colored gowns.[16] Cheikh Ibra Fall, founder of the Baye Fall school of the Mouride Brotherhood, popularized the style by adding a mystic touch to it. Warriors among the Fulani, Wolof and Serer in Mauritania, and Mandinka in Mali were known for centuries to have worn cornrows when young and dreadlocks when old. Larry Wolff in his book Inventing Eastern Europe: The Map of Civilization on the Mind of Enlightenment[full citation needed] mentions that in Poland, for about a thousand years, some people wore a knotted hairstyle similar to that of some Scythians. Zygmunt Gloger in his Encyklopedia staropolska mentions that the Polish plait (plica polonica) hairstyle was worn by some people in the Pinsk region and the Masovia region at the beginning of the 19th century. The Polish plait can vary between one large plait and multiple plaits that resemble dreadlocks.[17]
Fridays
For Future is een door westerse politici ingepakt instituut geworden
en wel zo dat men meedoet met de neoliberale westerse leugens,
terwijl FFF nota bene is begonnen met hun acties daar de westerse
regeringen logen dat ze begaan waren met het klimaat en beloofden dat
ze maatregelen zouden steunen om deze af te remmen, terwijl de
praktijk het tegenovergestelde liet zien..... Zo schaart deze groep,
als Anonymous, zich achter de meer dan belachelijke westerse
anti-Russische propaganda n.a.v. de inval van dat land in
Oekraïne..... Je zou toch verwachten van zo'n groep jongeren dat men
verder kijkt dan de neus lang is en naar de oorzaak van e.e.a. zou
zoeken, echter helaas, men is ingepakt door de inhumane neoliberale
politiek van het westen en de enorme propaganda in de afhankelijke
reguliere westerse media, hetzelfde westen dat de afgelopen 21 jaar
meer dan 5 miljoen mensen heeft vermoord in illegale oorlogen en
bijvoorbeeld een land als het reli-fascistische Saoedi-Arabië steunt
en zelfs helpt met het uitvoeren van een genocide in Jemen en dat al
meer dan 7 jaar lang, waarbij intussen meer dan 500.000 mensen zijn
vermoord, inclusief meer dan 100.000 kinderen, waar dat laatste
cijfer begin vorig jaar (2021) al door NGO's werd gemeld..... (ofwel
de cijfers moeten nu al aanmerkelijk hoger liggen) Aanvallen van de
Saoedische terreurcoalitie op de burgerbevolking van Jemen worden amper of niet
gemeld in de westerse media, echter als de Houthi's, die de
sjiitische bewoners beschermen tegen de soennitische terreur,
Saoedi-Arabië durven aan te vallen wordt dit groots gebracht in de reguliere
westerse media....... Men had in die media en de westerse politiek zoveel commentaar op China voorafgaand en tijdens de Olympische Winsterspelen, echter als er races plaatsvinden in Saoedi-Arabië (zoals afgelopen weekeinde) is er van kritiek amper of geen sprake, terwijl dat land ook nog eens massa-executies doorvoert en mensen zelfs op straat laat onthoofden of stenigen......

White musician banned from Greman climate protest because of dreadlocks: 'Haircut is a black resistance symbol'
Maltzahn (28) is from Hanover and was booked by the local branch of Fridays for Future (FFF) to perform during the climate strike on March 25. That performance is canceled, the artist said disappointed today. ‘We were looking forward to giving a sign for peace and against discrimination with our music. It’s a shame we were excluded because of appearances,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.
She also shares a text message in which the FFF department Hannover motivates why the artist is not allowed to perform. “The reason is that, especially in this global climate strike, we are focusing on an anti-colonialist and anti-racist story, where it is indefensible for us to have a white person with dreadlocks on our stage,” it reads. “Dreadlocks on white people are a form of cultural appropriation as they are tied to the identity of black people who used it as a sign of oppression during white slavery. That’s why white people shouldn’t wear dreadlocks because they appropriate a part of another culture without experiencing the systematic oppression behind it.’

But that is not the end of the matter for the climate youth, they write further: ‘If you decide to cut your dreadlocks before Friday, we would like to welcome you to the demonstration and let you perform.’
The cancellation does end with an apology. “We’re sorry that we let it get to this situation in the first place and that we didn’t focus enough on the question of which artists were invited.”
Invasion of privacy
In a statement on their website, the climate youth of the local FFF chapter want to “first and foremost make it clear” that they support their decision. Nevertheless, we would like to officially apologize to Ronja Maltzahn. “The cancellation was worded insensitively and shouldn’t have been sent that way.” Suggesting that the artist would be welcome without dreadlocks ‘wasn’t okay’.
‘This is an invasion of the artist’s privacy, which should not have happened in this way. Especially given that in this sexist society women are often reprimanded for their appearance and are not free to dress and show as they please, the message was worded across borders.’
Then the climate youth explain once again why they believe that white people wearing dreadlocks is a matter of cultural appropriation ‘even though we don’t know Ronja Maltzahn’s motives’.
Incomprehension
In her response to the cancellation, the artist emphasizes that her musical accompanists and she herself do not want to discriminate against people because of their cultural origin ‘but want to give cultural diversity a stage, to appreciate and celebrate as well as to stand up for gender equality, awareness and tolerance. I hope our listeners get this image through our music and not the opposite.’
Most comments under the post on Instagram are filled with incomprehension. ‘What nonsense. How can a haircut be cultural appropriation?’, 51-year-old TV host Kena Amoa wonders aloud. He was born in Ghana to a Ghanaian father and a German mother and came to Germany when he was nine.
Fans of Ronja Maltzahn find the proposal to cut her dreadlocks extremely offensive. ‘Brutal and outrageous’, ‘incomprehensible’ and ‘ridiculous’ are the comments in the comments.
The singer-songwriter told the news site picture that she never once considered cutting her dreadlocks. “I’m sorry for Fridays for Future, because I can identify with their values.” She considers the case closed. “With the war in Ukraine, we are currently dealing with very different problems.”
