Israëlische leger geeft toe wapens en grote sommen geld te hebben geleverd aan terreurgroepen in Syrië, om later het bericht te censureren......

The Jerusalem Post bracht het 'nieuws' dat Israël 7 terreurgroepen in Syrië van wapens en grote hoeveelheden contanten heeft voorzien, dit nieuws kwam van Israëlische militairen. Eén van deze terreurgroepen was Furson al-Joulan..... 'Was' want Israël zou afgelopen juli zijn gestopt met de wapenleveranties aan deze terreurgroepen (die in het westen 'gematigde rebellen' worden genoemd), daar het gebied dat ze beheersten in handen is gevallen van het reguliere Syrische leger.

Vreemd dat het Israëlische leger e.e.a. toegaf en even later The Jerusalem Post dwong het artikel van de site te halen...... Misschien kijk je daarvan op, daar de reguliere media in het westen keer op keer herhalen dat de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël het enige democratische land in het Midden-Oosten is, terwijl het Israëlische leger (Israeli Defense Forces >> IDF) het recht heeft om berichten te censureren..... ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Nee, echt een 'geweldig functionerende democratie' in Israël.......

Het was overigens al lang bekend dat Israël wapens leverde aan terreurgroepen in Syrië, zelfs aan IS...... Zoals Anna Ahranheim in het Jerusalem Post artikel hieronder schrijft: al lang werd er door Syrië op gewezen dat men wapens en munitie vond met daarop hebreeuws schrift....... Voorts (wat niet wordt genoemd in het artikel dat hieronder is opgenomen) heeft Israël wapens en geavanceerde wapensystemen via Oost-Europese landen geleverd aan terreurgroepen in Syrië, waar m.n. Hongarije en als ik me niet vergis Tsjechië werden genoemd als landen van doorvoer....... (overigens zou Israël ook wapens hebben gekocht in die landen t.b.v. die terreurgroepen......)

De actie van wapenleveringen en contanten aan terreurgroepen werd door Israël 'Operation Good Neighbor'* (ha! ha! ha!) genoemd. Jammer dat Jason Ditz en Anna Ahranheim niet het oplappen van terroristen noemen. Op de Golanhoogten had het het Israëlische leger medische hulpposten ingericht voor gewond geraakte leden van terreurgroepen in Syrië (zwaar gewonde terroristen werden vervoerd naar ziekenhuizen in Israël..), zodat ze na te zijn opgeknapt door konden gaan met vechten tegen het Syrische leger en terreur uitoefenen op de bevolking....... (Israël is één van de landen die Assad weg wil hebben, daarover zo meer)

De militaire bronnen stellen dat het vooral gaat om terreurgroepen (niet zo genoemd, zoals je begrijpt) die in het zuiden van Syrië langs de Israëlische grens waren gestationeerd, echter ook in andere delen van Syrië werd Israëlisch oorlogstuig gevonden...... Israël is dan ook één van de grote belanghebbenden die Assad uit het zadel willen wippen en Syrië willen opdelen à la Balkan, of wel een Balkanisering van Syrië, kleine staatjes die nooit weer een bedreiging zullen vormen voor Israël..... 

Tot slot: Israël en Egypte zijn 2 landen die het verdrag tegen gebruik en productie van chemische wapens niet hebben getekend.... Gezien het feit dat de 'gematigde rebellen' beschikken over voorraden gifgas als chlorine en sarin (bekend bij en gedoogd door westerse regeringen), is het bepaald niet ondenkbaar dat zij beschikken over Israëlisch gifgas.......

Israeli Military Admits to Arming Syrian Rebels, Then Censors Story

(ANTIWAR.COM) — The Jerusalem Post, a major Israeli newspaper, published an article on Wednesday quoting Israeli military officials as saying that they had been providing seven different Syrian rebel groups with “large amounts of cash, weapons and ammunition.”

Though the report did not name all of the rebel factions subsidized by Israel, it did name Fursan al-Joulan, a rebel group which had previously been accused of being in league with the Israeli military. This is particularly noteworthy because this was one of few rebel groups which refused the Russian evacuation deal in southern Syria. The report says all arming of the groups ended in July with the defeat of the last rebels in the area.

Even more interesting is that the Israeli military initially told Jerusalem Post this, and then forced the article to be taken down under military censorship rules. The Israeli military is legally empowered to censor the press, though it’s rare for the article to get published then taken down, as usually Israeli media outlets don’t start covering censored stories until international outlets break them first.

IDF confirms: Israel provided light-weapons to Syrian rebels

Bashar Assad claimed that Israel had been providing arms to terror groups and its forces had regularly seized arms and munitions with inscriptions in Hebrew.

The Israeli army has admitted, for the first time, that it provided large amounts of cash, weapons and ammunition to Syrian rebels in the Golan Heights.

While the IDF maintains that it was not intervening in Syria’s civil war, on Monday it confirmed that as part of Operation Good Neighbor Israel had been regularly supplying Syrian rebels near its border with light weapons and ammunition in order to defend themselves from attacks and a substantial amount of cash to buy additional arms.

Through Operation Good Neighbor, which was launched in 2016 the Israeli military had provided over 1524 tons of food, 250 tons of clothes, 947,520 liters of fuel, 21 generators, 24,900 palettes of medical equipment and medicine.

Reports first surfaced of Israel providing arms and cash to rebel groups several years ago, with the regime of Bashar Assad claiming that Israel had been providing arms to terror groups and its forces had regularly seized arms and munitions with inscriptions in Hebrew.

According to reports Israel had been arming at least seven different rebel groups in Syria’s Golan Heights, including the Fursan al-Joulan rebel group which had around 400 fighters and had been given an estimated $5,000 per month by Israel.

“Israel stood by our side in a heroic way,” the group’s spokesperson, Moatasem al-Golani, told the The Wall Street Journal in a January 2017 report.  “We wouldn’t have survived without Israel’s assistance.”

The army believes that the decision to provide weapons and cash to the rebel groups along the border with Israel’s Golan Heights was the right decision.

Israel’s aim in providing the weapons and cash to rebel groups throughout Operation Good Neighbor which shut down once the Assad regime retook control of the Golan Heights in July, was to keep troops belonging to Hezbollah and Iran away from Israel’s Golan Heights.

The Syrian army, backed by Russian air power and Iranian backed Shiite militia fighters, have been recapturing large swathes of territory and is now believed to have control over 70% of the war-torn country.

While Syrian troops have once again been deployed to the border with Israel, in order to prevent an escalation between the two enemy countries, Russian military police have been deployed along the Golan Heights border along with UN Peacekeepers.

Israel has warned against Iran’s entrenchment in Syria and has stressed time and again that Syrian soil can not serve as a forward operating base by Iran and that the war-torn country cannot be a waystation for arms smuggling to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

While Israel’s military had been carrying out operation against Iranian targets in Syria for several years, it’s extent only became public after an Israeli Air Force F-16 which was taking part in retaliatory strikes was downed by Syrian air defenses in February.

Last year Former Israel Air Force head Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amir Eshel stated that the IAF carried out 100 airstrikes in Syria over the past five years.

On Monday the military announced that in the past year and half alone, Israel has carried out 202 strikes against Iranian and Hezbollah targets in Syria.

Bolton* was één van de verantwoordelijken voor de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003. Deze kwaadaardige smeerlap zit door Trump hoger in het zadel dan ooit en hij trekt samen met Netanyahu op tegen Iran, met leugens en haatzaaierij proberen de 2, vaak aangeduid als B&B, een oorlog uit te lokken tegen Iran.....

In september 2002 sprak Netanyahu het VS congres toe en destijds durfde hij glashard te zeggen, dat de verwijdering van het Saddam Hoessein bewind een enorm positieve invloed zou hebben op de regio...... De gevolgen van de illegale oorlog tegen Irak in 2003, die Saddam Hoessein het leven kostte, heeft behalve de dood van 1,5 miljoen Irakezen, de regio in een grote chaos gedompeld....... Nee 'echt enorm positief allemaal....'

De oorlog tegen het Syrische bewind is zonder meer door de VS geïnitieerd, al in  2006 maakte de VS met o.a. Turkije, Saoedi-Arabië en Groot-Brittannië de eerste plannen om het Assad bewind omver te werpen. De opstand ('Arabische Lente', beter gezegd: de VS Lente in het Midden-Oosten) in Syrië werd dan ook geregisseerd door de VS, dat tevens (samen met S-A) terreurgroepen uit Libië transporteerde richting Syrië en hen van wapens en rollend materieel heeft voorzien.......

'Helaas' voor de VS en haar samenzweerders, Assad kreeg men niet weg, plan mislukt, maar Syrië ligt wel voor een groot deel in puin en het is maar de vraag of de bevolkingsgroepen met verschillende religies in de toekomst nog naast elkaar kunnen leven, zoals ze dat deden voor de VS terreur losbarstte........

Nu zal Iran er aan moeten geloven, althans als Bolton, Netanyahu en uiteraard de gehele Trump administratie hun zin krijgen......

A disturbing sense of deja vu is permeating the Middle East. The sequel of a movie, screened in the winter of 2002-2003, is under production. With the same producer, director, screenplay and actors. John Bolton, US President Donald Trump's new national security adviser, who - in the first movie - played the villain undermining the UN inspection regime in Iraq, is now the chief villain.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also has a leading role, while in 2002 he was only a supporting actor. However, his testimony at the US Congress hearings on 12 September 2002 was not only an Oscar performance, it will also go down in history as one of the most accurate political prediction ever.

Netanyahu confidently said: "If you take out Saddam's [Hussain] regime, I assure you it will have enormous positive reverberations in the region." He was absolutely right. Except for the fact that the reverberations were positive only for Iran. Maybe also his bizarre presentation on 30 April this year concerning Iran's alleged nuclear cheating will be remembered as another outstanding performance.

Middle East fire

B&B, the duo of Bibi and Bolton, is manufacturing another crisis that promises another bonanza for Iran: Washington has withdrawn from the nuclear deal with Tehran, Syria is a shooting range for Israeli fighters, the US embassy move to Jerusalem is stirring Arab and Muslim anger, more than 100 Palestinians protesters have been killed in Gaza so far - and, last but not least, a forthcoming Israeli-Palestinian "peace plan" - courtesy of the US president's acquired family - could become, voluntarily assisted by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the euthanasia of Palestinian struggle.

In more simple words: the Middle East's fire has been effectively stirred up again. The sequel to the Iraq war, "The Israel-Iran War in Syria", could not hope for a better advertising campaign for its imminent release, and for the forthcoming final chapter of the trilogy: "Regime change in Tehran."

If Iran was looking for a lobby firm to further improve its standing in the Middle East, it could have never found a better partner than B&B & Associates.

After the excellent services rendered in Iraq in 2003, the firm is now back in business sowing hatred and resentment in the region. Qassem Suleimani, who leads Iran's Quds Force, the elite special forces arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, could take a vacation, stopping further foreign meddling and wait comfortably for the bonuses brought free of charge by B&B.

An impending conflict

Leaving sarcasm and metaphor aside, the perception of an impeding conflict in the region is growing. The situation is reminicient of Europe in the summer of 1914. At the time no one wished for a prolonged conflict, but Europe ended up entrapped in a long and unprecedentedly bloody war that changed European and Middle Eastern history. The hope is that history will not repeat itself in Syria.

Although this time round rules of engagement have been set and enforced by Russia, Syria is crowded by so many actors that the chances of miscalculation and escalation cannot be ignored. Last week, Netanyahu visited Moscow, probably not just to attend a military parade, but to reinforce these rules and, hopefully, to get from Putin a "cleared" and less provocative targeting list for Israeli jets in Syria.

The Middle East's shifting power balance is another driver for a conflict. As Germany's rising in 1914 was a catalyst for the First World War, Iran could follow the same script, also because Tehran's rise is accelerating, especially since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and its catastrophically managed aftermath.

Syrian President Bashar al- Assad is winning; recent Lebanese elections have consolidated Hezbollah's powers. Irrespective of Moqtada Al Sadr's victory in the Iraqi elections, the political outcome in the country will be more favourable to Tehran than Washington, and, finally, Yemen is becoming the Afghanistan of Saudi Arabia.

Such a debacle cannot be tolerated any longer by the Axis of Restoration, the unholy alliance of the US, Israel and Sunni Arab kingdoms. The "existential threat" represented by Tehran, Baghdad, Damascus and Beirut, the Axis of Resistance, must be stopped and rolled back.

Two options

Israel is at the forefront of this effort providing the narrative, Washington is selling the military procurement, and Riyadh, as usual, is giving the money. The first theatre selected to inverse the trend is the already devastated Syria, while the main target is now the Iranian presence in the country.

                  

Israel and its partners resemble a poker player who had played his hand badly and is trying to recover from a largely compromised situation. The obsession with the Shia Crescent led to more than a flirtation with the Sunni jihadists in a joint bid for Assad's removal; unfortunately, the conflict took an outcome different from the one hoped for.

Israel and its partners are now confronted with two options: accepting the fait-accompli, and disguising it with irrelevant strikes on secondary Syrian targets cleared by Moscow, or overthrowing the table through a direct conflict.

Trump's decision on Iran's nuclear file should be understood within such a context. It is similar to a wife who starts a lawsuit for divorce today because her husband could betray her in 15 years time; in one word: absurd.

It is so self-damaging that it must conceal something else: a green light for an Israeli-Iranian conflict in Syria. Effectively, remaining at this poker table, the game is perceived as largely compromised, and is no longer sustainable even for the serial self-harming members of the Axis of Restoration.

Trump's proclaimed intention to disengage from the region is not serious. He has already shown the capacity to disprove himself with the same ease with which he breathes. Of course, if the US joins Israel in the conflict, the chances of success would improve, but also the risks.

Russia could react. Furthermore, it will not be easy to lure Iran into an open conflict providing the solid casus belli that is currently missing. Iranian leadership usually acts with restraint and prefers to choose the timing and the place for its retaliation against "provocations".

Last but not least, although B&B are specialised in manufacturing cases for war, their reliability and marketing capabilities have become less and less convincing. 

And, by the way, Middle East is still experiencing, after 15 years, the "unintended consequences" of the first chapter of the trilogy. Stay tuned: the best is yet to come.

VS ontvangt moorddadige Saoedische psychopaat MBS met alle eer......

De Saoedische kroonprins Mohammed bin Salman, ofwel MBS, is op bezoek in de VS en wordt daar met alle eer ontvangen door een groot aantal vips en organisaties......

Onder de vips bevinden zich figuren als de Clintons, beiden oorlogsmisdadiger, Oprah Winfrey, VN secretaris-generaal Guterrez, Henry Kissinger (als de presidenten Clinton, Obama en Trump en hun voorgangers, een oorlogsmisdadiger die als Obama de Nobelprijs voor 'de Vrede' ontving...), Rupert Murdoch (eigenaar groot aantal nepnieuws organen, ofwel reguliere mediaorganen), psychopaat Pompeo e.a. (zoals je begrijpt zijn ook de voornoemde oorlogsmisdadigers zonder meer als psychopaten aan te merken)

Voorts werd MBS ontvangen door zionistisch joodse organisaties, waaronder organisaties die geld steken in de illegale Israëlische nederzettingen op de West Bank, wat nog eens onderstreept hoe goed de banden zijn tussen de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël en de reli-fascistische dictatuur Saoedi-Arabië.......

Wat dat laatste betreft: hoe is het mogelijk dat terreurgroepen als IS zich niet keren tegen het Saoedische bewind....... Blijkbaar is het geld dat men van het moorddadige Saoedische bewind ontvangt een stuk belangrijker dan de 'waarden en idealen' waar deze terreurgroepen voor zeggen te staan en al helemaal veel belangrijker dan het verdrukte Palestijnse volk........

Overigens zegt de ontvangst van moordenaar, verkrachter en martelbeul MBS veel over de VS, een 'land' waarvan de opvolgende regeringen keer op keer durven te zeggen dat ze opkomen voor vrijheid (inclusief de vrijheid van meningsuiting) en democratie....... Waar de VS het gore lef heeft andere dictators en zelfs democratieën de les te lezen, desnoods met geweld en voor dat laatste is niet veel nodig zoals de (recente) geschiedenis laat zien (althans als deze landen anti-VS zijn)....... Alsof men in de VS niet weet dat S-A het overgrote deel van de terreurgroepen in het Midden-Oosten steunt....... Oh ja, dom van mij, de VS heeft dit zelfs ook meermaals gedaan en doet dit nog steeds.....

America Gives Murderous Saudi Crown Prince the Red Carpet Treatment

(ANTIMEDIA) — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) recently met with leaders of a number of right-wing Jewish organizations, including the notorious pro-Israel lobby AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), according to a leaked copy of his itinerary obtained by Haaretz.

Aside from AIPAC, MBS also met with a number of other groups that have donated millions to illegal settlement building. These groups are also responsible for launching efforts to quash the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and include the likes of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA), as well leaders from the Conference of Presidents, B’nai B’rith, and the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

If ever proof was needed that Saudi Arabia has completely abandoned the Palestinian people in favor of its longstanding commitment to focus its resources on its regional power struggle against Iran, this is it. AIPAC is one of the primary backers of legislation in the U.S. that seeks to target and stifle BDS, allegedly spending millions in the process.

Between 2012 and 2015, JFNA reportedly gave almost $6 million to advance illegal Israeli settlements, allegedly also aiding Jewish families suspected or convicted of violence against Palestinian people.

This latest development is part of an overall pattern of a continued strengthening of ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia (even though Saudi Arabia technically doesn’t recognize Israel as a state). What we should worry about, however, is the likelihood that Saudi Arabia will be expecting something from Israel in return for MBS’ newfound partnership with Israel, and it shouldn’t be too hard to venture a guess as to what that something is.

As Middle East Eye explained previously:

“Saudi Arabia will only be able to destabilize Lebanon if it works with Israel, the only country with the military capabilities to threaten Lebanon’s fragile peace. Will Mohammed bin Salman go as far as striking a deal with Israel in which he offers full normalisation in return for Israel destroying Hezbollah and Iran in Lebanon?”

As the Saudi-Israel alliance solidifies, expect things to heat up in both Syria and Lebanon. The most direct way of countering Iran’s expanding influence without going to war with Iran on Iranian soil is through these latter two countries, and Saudi Arabia has had its sights set on both of them for a long time now — as has Israel.

On another note, MBS is also reportedly set to meet with Oprah Winfrey and has already met with Bill and Hillary Clinton, Senator Chuck Schumer, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, alleged war criminal Henry Kissinger, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the New York Times’ Thomas Friedman, Rupert Murdoch, CIA director Mike Pompeo (who is next in line for the position of secretary of state), Vice President Mike Pence, Defense Secretary James Mattis, and Jared Kushner, who MBS allegedly bragged about having “in his pocket.”

He is also set to meet renowned business leaders such as Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Apple’s Tim Cook, and the CEOs of Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, Uber, the Walt Disney Company and Lockheed Martin (no surprises on that last one).

Israël bezig met voorbereiding op meerdere fronten oorlog........ (met hulp van de VS)

De plaatsvervangend stafchef voor het Israëlische leger, Aviv Kochavi, stelde op een promotie ceremonie voor Israëlische officieren, dat Israël zich voorbereidt op een zes fronten oorlog.... (en zoals je begrijpt: een illegale oorlog....)

Aviv noemde de fronten niet, maar bekend is dat Israël haar troepen samentrekt aan de grens met Libanon, Syrië en de Gazastrook...... Daar is het Israëlische leger dan ook 'bezig met grootschalige militaire oefeningen', waar ook een groot aantal VS militairen aan deelnemen...... Vergeet daarnaast niet de woorden van Palestijnenslachter Netanyahu (de zwaar corrupte en fascistische Israëlische premier), anderen uit de top vaan de Israëlische regering en uit de top van het leger, waarin men in feite al heeft aangegeven Iran te zullen aanvallen vanwege 'het brengen van terreur' in het Midden-Oosten........

Dit alles terwijl Israël de psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen van terreurgroepen in Syrië steunt (ons kent ons..), dit middels het oplappen van gewonde strijders (psychopaten), zodat ze het reguliere Syrische leger weer kunnen bestrijden en doorgaan met hun terreur tegen de bevolking van Syrië....... Voorts bombardeert Israël illegaal het Syrische  leger op aanvraag van deze terreurgroepen (IS en Al Qaida Syrië), dit naast de andere vele illegale bombardementen die Israël in Syrië uitvoert....... Wie is de ware terrorist in het Midden-Oosten?

Nogmaals: dit alles terwijl Israël als het haar zo uitkomt de Gazastrook bombardeert, de Gazastrook: de openluchtgevangenis van Israël voor zelfs hele Palestijnse gezinnen (Palestijnen zijn mensen, blijkbaar ziet men dat in Israël anders.....). Het bestaan van de Palestijnen in de Gazastrook is dermate slecht, dat je dit onleefbaar kan noemen......... Nog eens: wie is de ware terrorist in het Midden-Oosten? (naast uiteraard de grootschalige VS terreur en die van Saoedi-Arabië.....)

Israeli Army Preparing for War on Six Fronts: Military Official

(MEMO) — A senior Israeli military official said on Wednesday that the Israeli army is preparing for war on five fronts, in addition to another with Iran.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Aviv Kochavi, said: “Iran is fueling many terrorist activities in the Middle East”, adding that the Israeli army continues to grow and prepare for any future military confrontation.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of navy officers, Kochavi said the army anticipates war on five fronts but he did not name them.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Israeli navy, General Eli Sharvit, said the navy has the ability to work in absolute secrecy, above and below the water which enables it to expand the scope of operations quickly.

The Israeli army has recently intensified military training on the northern border with Lebanon and Syria and southern border with the occupied Gaza Strip.

Israel is also holding joint military exercises with American troops on its ground this week. About 2,500 US soldiers and 2,000 Israelis are taking part in the drills, which will last for one week, the Sama news agency said.

Ongelofelijk maar waar: Shell wil samen met 'het geweldige bedrijf' Blackstone de schalie-olie en -gas winning van BHP Billiton in de VS annexeren. 'Zo laat Shell zien dat het haar ernst is met duurzaamheid en pogingen de klimaatverandering te vertragen.....' De winning van schaliegas en -olie 'is immers de schoonste vorm van winning als het om deze fossiele grondstoffen gaat......'

Het is intussen meer dan duidelijk dat door het fracken voor gas en olie, welhaast onherstelbare schade wordt aangericht aan de ondergrond en dat dit gepaard gaat met enorme vervuiling van zwaar chemisch verontreinigd water, dat in de VS veelal gewoon op het oppervlaktewater mag worden geloosd.........

Shell heeft om het zacht te zeggen ook al geen best verleden als het om mensenrechten gaat, 'vandaar ook' dat dit bedrijf in onderhandelingen is met de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël...... Dit voor de gaswinning van het omstreden Leviathan-gasveld voor de kust van Israël en de Gazastrook.......

In het bericht dat hierover werd gepubliceerd op de Beurs.nl (het tweede artikel onder dit bericht), spreekt de redactie over het Leviathan-gasveld 'in Israëlische wateren......'

Daarmee stelt Shell in feite dat het akkoord gaat met de claim van Israël op dit gasveld, echter dat is zoals gezegd zeer omstreden en deskundigen zeggen dat het grootste deel eigenlijk ten goede zou moeten komen aan de Gazastrook en Libanon (waar Israël Libanon al heeft gedreigd met militaire actie over de claim).......

Het gaat hier om een contract van 25 miljard dollar en dat voor 25 jaar, daarin is ook gaswinning voor de kust van Cyprus meegenomen, als bij het Leviathan-gasveld is hier strijd om wie de rechten ten goede zou moeten komen, Griekenland of Turkije......

Het gas moet naar een andere groot mensenrechtenschendend land, waar het gas wordt verwerkt in een LNG fabriek, voor transport naar o.a. Europa..... Het land? Egypte!!

Shell is echt lekker bezig en van dat bedrijf is 'ons' koningshuis grootaandeelhouder......

'Shell wil Amerikaanse tak BHP overnemen'

DEN HAAG (AFN) - Shell wil samen met investeerder Blackstone en bod doen op de schalie-activiteiten van mijnbouwer BHP Billiton in de Verenigde Staten. Het olie- en gasbedrijf en de investeerder willen daar 10 miljard dollar, ruim 8,1 miljard euro, voor neertellen. Dat meldt Sky News.

Een bod van Shell en Blackstone zou niet het enige zijn waar BHP op kan rekenen, naar verluidt hebben ook verschillende andere partijen interesse. Namen daarvan werden door Sky echter niet genoemd. Naar verwachting komt een verkoop eind dit jaar rond. BHP gaf eerder wel aan het onderdeel ook naar de beurs te kunnen brengen bij te lage biedingen.

BHP zette zijn Amerikaanse schalietak vorig jaar in de verkoop. Dat deed het bedrijf onder druk van activistische aandeelhouder Elliott Advisors, die vond dat het onderdeel te weinig rendement opleverde.

LONDEN (AFN) - Shell praat over een langjarige deal om gas te kopen uit twee grote gasvelden in het oosten van de Middellandse Zee. Dat meldden ingewijden rond de gesprekken aan persbureau Bloomberg.

Het gaat om het Leviathan-gasveld in Israëlische wateren en het Aphrodite-veld voor de kust van Cyprus. Shell praat over een tienjarig contract ter waarde van 25 miljard dollar met de ontwikkelaars van die velden. Het gas zou moeten gaan naar een LNG-fabriek van Shell in Egypte. De onderhandelingen zouden voor het einde van dit jaar afgerond moeten worden.

Leviathan is in handen de Israëlische bedrijven Delek Group en Ratio Oil Exploration, samen met het Amerikaanse Noble Energy. Noble en Delek bezitten samen met Shell het nabijgelegen Aphrodite-veld.

Shock & Awe: 15 jaar geleden begon de (illegale) oorlog tegen Irak, dezelfde weg wordt weer gevolgd door de VS (en de massamedia)........

15 jaar geleden begon de regering van George W. Bush de oorlog tegen Irak. Geheel op leugens gebaseerd was dit de aanzet tot een illegale oorlog die intussen aan meer dan 1,5 miljoen burgers het leven heeft gekost.

Deze oorlog was niet mogelijk geweest, als de reguliere (massa-) media niet de leugens van de Bush administratie hadden overgenomen en dat op de voorpagina's en prominent in nieuws en actualiteiten uitzendingen, of dat nu op de radio of tv was. De term 'fake news' bestond destijds nog niet, maar werd wel degelijk op grote schaal gemaakt door de hiervoor genoemde media. Vergeet niet dat meerdere deskundigen en wapeninspecteurs van de VN, zoals Blix, keer op keer stelden dat Irak niet meer in het bezit was van massavernietigingswapens.......

Het volgende artikel gaat Ron Paul dieper in op alle gevolgen van deze illegale oorlog die de VS 15 jaar geleden begon. Voorts noemt hij het huidige tromgeroffel o.l.v. De VS tegen Noord-Korea, waar senator Graham een paar dagen geleden stelde dat een paar miljoen doden geen probleem zijn, als met een oorlog tegen dit land 'stabiliteit' in de regio wordt bereikt...........

Jammer dat Paul niet alle andere oorlogsdreigingen van VS en NAVO zijde noemt, zoals een dreigende oorlog tegen Syrië, Iran en Libanon (deze o.l.v. Israël met steun van de VS), waar nog Oekraïne aan toegevoegd kan worden, daar de VS daar niet alleen meer 'militaire adviseurs', maar ook zware wapens levert aan dit intussen zo goed als failliete land. Dit nog buiten alle militaire oefeningen langs de Russische grens, waar de VS in feite oefent op een oorlog tegen Rusland....... 

Hetzelfde geldt voor China, waar de VS dit land voor een groot deel heeft omringd met militaire bases en waar de Trump administratie dit land meer en meer met militair geweld bedreigt (zoals over de eilandjes die China claimt in de Zuid-Chinese Zee...).......

Ron Paul: 15 Years After the US Invaded Iraq, It’s Time to Listen to the Iraqi People

(RPI Op-ed) — This month marks the 15th anniversary of the US war on Iraq. The “shock and awe” attack was launched based on “stove-piped” intelligence fed from the CIA and Pentagon through an uncritical and compliant US mainstream media. The US media was a willing accomplice to this crime of aggression committed by the George W. Bush Administration.

Despite the lies we were constantly bombarded with, Iraq never presented a threat to the United States. Iraq never had the weapons of mass destruction that the neocons used to frighten Americans into supporting the war. How many of them knew all along that there were no WMDs? We’ll never know. Attacking Iraq and overthrowing its leader was long a plan in the neocon playbook and they used the 9/11 attack on the US as an excuse to pull the plan off the shelf and put it into action.

The US “regime change” war on Iraq has directly resulted in the death of at least a quarter of a million civilians, and indirectly perhaps a million Iraqis have been killed. The Iraqi infrastructure was destroyed and the country was set back many decades in development. Far from the democratization we were promised, Iraq has been turned into a hell on earth. Due to the US use of depleted uranium and other chemical weapons like white phosphorus, Iraqis will continue to suffer from birth defects and other related illnesses for generations.

How did we get there? War propaganda was essential in paving the way for the Iraq war. Americans are generally skeptical about launching new wars, so it takes a steady media bombardment about the alleged depravities of any targeted regime before public opinion begins to shift in favor of war.

Because the neocons who helped launch the war have never had to face the consequences of their actions, they continue to promote war with impunity. Just this past week, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was pushing for a US attack on North Korea in which millions may be killed. He said this weekend, “All the damage that would come from a war would be worth it in terms of long-term stability and national security.” That’s just what they said before the US attacked Iraq, and how did that turn out? I find it disgusting that the media continues to give airtime almost exclusively to those who promote more US disasters like Iraq.

The Iraqi parliament did something extraordinary last week. A majority of elected Iraqi representatives voted to demand that their prime minister draw up a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops from the country. President Obama had withdrawn US troops from Iraq in 2011, after a status of forces agreement could not be reached with the Iraqi government, but he returned the US military to Iraq under the auspices of fighting ISIS.

We had no business going into Iraq in the first place and we have no business remaining in Iraq. Al-Qaeda and ISIS emerged in Iraq because our attack and occupation of the country 15 years ago created fertile fields for extremism. Nothing will be achieved if we remain. Let’s listen to the Iraqis and just come home!
