Mahmoud Nawajaa, een geweldloze Palestijnse activist om 3 uur 's nachts opgepakt door Israëlische militairen

Mahmoud Nawajaa werd afgelopen week gearresteerd door de militairen van de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël, niet omdat hij geweld zou hebben gebruikt, nee omdat hij een vreedzaam activist is, de coördinator van de Palestijnse organisatie BDS......

Nawajaa werd met geweld gearresteerd door militairen waarvan zijn kinderen ook getuige waren en geloof mij maar: die kinderen zullen dit trauma hun leven lang bij zich houden..... 

Het moet eindelijk eens afgelopen zijn met de Israëlische vervolging van het Palestijnse volk, een vervolging die niets anders is dan een smerige etnische zuivering, die bij tijd en wijle lijkt op een genocide, door massamoorden op ongewapende burgers in de Gazastrook en op de West Bank, waarbij Israël zelfs 'het wapen' van water inzet, door de toevloed van water voor Palestijnse gebieden te blokkeren, zodat de Palestijnen voor een groot deel afhankelijk zijn van watertoevoer door Israël....... Dit is zonder meer een zware misdaad tegen de menselijkheid!!!

Mahmoud Nawajaa is gevangengezet en dat in één van de Israëlische gevangenissen waar COVID-19 welig tiert, tja zo komt Israël nog makkelijker af van 'lastige mensen' want dat zijn Palestijnen nog steeds: mensen!!

Laat je niet van de wijs brengen: kritiek leveren op de ongebreidelde en bloedige agressie van Israël tegen het Palestijnse volk heeft niets met antisemitisme te maken, elk ander land dat zo met een minderheid zou omgaan, zou al lang en breed onderwerp van VN-sancties zijn geweest en precies daar gaat het om: de geweldloze strijd tegen zwaar onrecht (en dat de Palestijnen een minderheid zijn heeft alles te maken met het moorddadig verjagen van deze mensen voor en na de illegale stichting van de staat Israël.....).... Bovendien zijn Palestijnen in feite ook semieten!! (en zou je Israel ook kunnen beschuldigen van antisemitisme!!)

Imagine the terror of being a Palestinian activist, partner, and parent, being woken up at 3 a.m. by dozens of Israeli soldiers breaking into your home, and being blindfolded, arrested, and taken away while your terrified children watch and ask why.

That’s what happened to Mahmoud Nawajaa, the General Coordinator of the Palestinian National BDS Committee, last Thursday before the sun was up, before the press and attorneys could be alerted. [1] It’s horrifying but unsurprising – repression of human rights activists in Palestine/Israel is at an all time high. 

#FreeMahmoud NOW and all activists speaking out against Israeli apartheid and human rights abuses.

There’s a reason why JVP signed onto the BDS platform, and why we believe that boycotts, divestment and sanctions are critical in fighting apartheid, violence and repression against Palestinians in Palestine/Israel.


The strategy works. 

It worked in South Africa. It worked for U.S. farmworkers. And it’s working in the struggle for Palestinian freedom. But BDS continues to be attacked UNFAIRLY by anti-Palestinian, anti-human rights forces. And it’s clear that Mahmoud is being targeted for political activism on behalf of the BDS Movement.

We need you to speak up with us in this urgent time. Israeli forces and settlers are getting bolder and more violent by the day. As we fight state violence, we need to make sure that Palestine is not forgotten. 

Take a moment and lend your voice. This arrest was a gross violation of human rights, and we can’t let it fade into the background with the next news cycle – it’s critical that we LOUDLY demand answers and voice our outrage and dissent.

The arrest of Palestinian activist Mahmoud Nawajaa by Israeli soldiers was a blatant attempt to repress Palestinian activism and persecute him as a leader in the BDS Movement. The non-violent BDS Movement is more powerful than ever – and that's why Israeli officials are cracking down on BDS leaders like Mahmoud.

We demand that Mahmoud Nawajaa be released NOW – and we demand answers about why he was detained in the first place.

Finally, we demand that NOT ONE MORE activist is arrested for speaking up or organizing for Palestinian rights.
