Armoede in VS neemt schrikbarend toe, zo lijden steeds meer kinderen honger

Zo'n artikel waarvan de haren je te berge rijzen: Coalition on Human Needs luidt de noodklok over de immer stijgende armoede in de VS, dit als gevolg van de Coronacrisis...... Nu ja, als gevolg van de Coronacrisis? Als gevolg van het niet steunen door de overheid van de grote arme onderlaag in de VS die dagelijks groeit daar mensen werkloos worden, dan wel geen opdrachten meer krijgen vanwege het vermaledijde virus, terwijl grote bedrijven die zelfs geen steun nodig hebben vele miljoenen aan belastinggeld krijgen toegestopt en dat zonder enige eis, tot verduurzaming en verbetering van arbeidsvoorwaarden...... (het lijkt Nederland wel, waar men hooguit eist dat er geen bonus of dividend wordt uitgekeerd, althans als het geen dochteronderneming is van een buitenlands bedrijf, dan mag 'gewoon' alles......)

Het is intussen al zo zot dat het aantal kinderen in de VS dat honger lijdt veel hoger ligt dan 16 miljoen......... (overigens in Groot-Brittannië was het aantal kinderen dat met honger naar school ging voor de Coronacrisis al 4, dat aantal is uiteraard fiks gegroeid door het vermaledijde virus)

Hier een tekst die ik vond over honger onder kinderen in de VS, let wel, tekst uit 2016!! (ofwel de ellende moet nu met de Coronacrisis veel en veel groter zijn):

16 million American kids struggle with hunger each year. An estimated 48.8 million Americans , including 16.2 million children, live in households that lack the means to get enough nutritious food on a regular basis. As a result, about 1 in 5 children go hungry at some point during the year.

Men stelt in het bovenstaande citaat dat 1 op de 5 kinderen op een bepaald punt in het jaar honger lijdt, reken maar gerust dat dit nu veel vaker is dan op 1 punt in het jaar >> schande!!!

In een mail van ene Deborah, dat door de Coalition on Human Needs in haar oproep (hieronder) werd opgenomen, wordt in het kort geschetst waar mensen mee te maken krijgen in het zogenaamd rijkste land ter wereld (dat is al lang niet meer zo, integendeel, elk ander land met een zo grote schuld als de VS, was al lang failliet verklaard....)... De VS waar het huis van afgevaardigden (lager huis) al midden mei heeft verzocht om steun voor de getroffen groepen in de bevolking en dat begin oktober nog eens heeft herhaald, echter de voorzitter van de senaat, Mitch McConnell en de Tump administratie hebben lak aan de ellende die een groot deel van de VS burgers treft, waaronder NB een groot deel van de Trump aanhang.......

8 Million Have Slipped Into Poverty Since May as Federal Aid has Dried Up

The article states:1

"After an ambitious expansion of the safety net in the spring saved millions of people from poverty, the aid is now largely exhausted and poverty has returned to levels higher than before the coronavirus crisis, two new studies have found."

Together, with our coalition of national partners, CHN is demanding the Senate finally act on a comprehensive COVID-relief package that provides direct cash aid to families in need, a renewal of enhanced unemployment benefits, food assistance, an extended evictions moratorium and more.

Together, during the lame-duck session of Congress, we are continuing to demand that the millions of Americans who are falling through the cracks and into poverty get the immediate pandemic relief they desperately need.
